Sarah Cummings graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in 2011 with an AB in Economics. During her time at Princeton she was an All-American at 10,000 meters, won four individual Ivy League titles on the track and served as Cross Country captain for the 2010-2011 season. After college Sarah made the transition to the roads, winning the 2011 NYRR Grete's Gallop Half Marathon. In 2012, Sarah took third place at the Broad Street 10 mile race finishing in a time of 56:53. She took seventh in her marathon debut at the 2012 Philadelphia Marathon with a time of 2:42.57 gun time. Sarah was named the 2012 NYRR Runner of the Year in the 20-24 age category. In 2013, Sarah ran a personal best of 1:15.17 at the NYC Half Marathon (24th overall, sixth American) and followed that up two weeks later with a second place finish and 10k road personal best of 34:43 at the NYRR Scotland Run. After a two year hiatus Sarah returned to the track, winning the New Balance Boston Twilight Meet 10,000 meters in a time of 34:08. Sarah lowered her personal best in the marathon to 2:39:27, finishing 10th at the 2013 USA Marathon Championships (Twin Cities Marathon). Sarah was named the 2013 NYRR Runner of the Year in the 20-24 age category. Sarah kicked off 2014 with a PR in the _ marathon (1:14.06), good for 14th at the USA Half-Marathon Championships (Houston Half). She followed that up with another marathon PR at the Boston Marathon in April (2:34.57). Sarah ran her second sub-2:35 marathon of the year (one of only eight American women to do so in 2014) with a time of 2:34.47 at the Chicago Marathon (11th/6th American). Sarah currently resides in New York City and works full-time at Goldman Sachs.
