i go through a couple tubes per week. as a professional cyclist it is important to keep fluid levels up and weight down. so naturally, most sports drinks don't cut it. i have tried a lot of different products and really like what you guys have done. flavorful with all the right types of electrolytes, i really think nuun is really a good fit for cyclists. Cheers, Tim
tim from somewhere, u.s. of a.13 July 2010hello nuun, i like how the font you use looks like bears walking away, (and bears walking away upside down.) presumably because they are scared i'm so hydrated and ready to kick some butt! thanks nuun!
matt the welder, from atx, usa06 July 2010hi folks at nuun: i was just introduced to nuun tablets by a friend of mine who manages our local running store. fantastic! i love them! not only do they taste good, but they are easy to store and prepare, and i don't go through all those water bottles.
cathy from tuscaloosa, al06 July 2010hi there friends at nuun, i don't typically make a point of writing to companies to tell them how terrific their product is, but nuun is so absolutely fantastic, i guess it was only a matter of time before i had to tell you so. i do endurance cycling. over many years i have tried a multitude of products for all aspects of my riding. of all my gear and supplies that i take with me, nuun is my favorite. i tell all my friends. they probably think I work for you. :o) anyway, just a thought, all your flavors are already great, and i'm sure you get lots of ideas and suggestions, so if there is any informal voting going on for new or limited edition flavors, i'd like to put a polite little request in for watermelon. thanks for listening, and keep up the great work.
matt who tells all his friends about us02 July 2010just wanted to say that i recently began using nuun, and i definitely like it. i use it everyday and since it is low cal, low carb, it fits into my diet perfectly. the taste honestly is good, i like all the flavors i've tried especially the banana. you have a new customer for sure, and i am spreading the word to all my workout buddies. anyway thanks again.
kevin from somewhere, u.s. of a.02 July 2010i just wanted to say that i really enjoy your product and i end up using a bottle a week. i find that it works just as well for me as a preride drink or when i am trying to recover. i also really like the flavors that are currently available and i was wondering if you are planning on releasing anymore? keep up the great work!
tony from somewhere, u.s. of a.02 July 2010a few weeks back i attended the mellow johnny's spring classic mtb race in dripping springs, texas. it was easily the hottest day of the year - the heat and humidity was mind and body meltingly oppressive. nunn had a tent set up with water coolers handing out your product to all. the three people working the tent worked their butt off in horrible temperatures to keep all the spectators hydrated. i know i sucked down a least a dozen bottles. i know for a fact that i had a lot more energy and overall felt much better then i would have if it where not for your product. i had never used your product before but soon after went out and stocked-up. many thanks to the three who worked the event, they earned their money that day. each one was positive, upbeat, and all smiles. how they kept that attitude all day is beyond me. they converted me to a new customer. they deserve a thank you.
peter from boerne, tx29 June 2010love nuun! thanks so much for putting together a great, healthy, smart, and even environmentally friendly product!
steve from the ATX29 June 2010i am a member of a local emergency response team in southern new hampshire. last thursday we were called out to help search for a missing young man. it was hot and humid and after about four hours of pushing through some serious brush and swamps he was eventually found. in all our training we never emphasized keeping up the electrolyte levels. all we worried about was making sure we were properly hydrated. we all equated that to drink lots of water. we found out the hard way after one of our team was hospitalized for electrolyte imbalance we needed something more. i just picked up several tubes of nuun tabs, one for me and a few to give out during our next conditioning hike. thanks for a good tasting product that will help our members be better prepared for the next time we are activated.
al from the londonderry emergency response team29 June 2010i am currently training for my first ultra trail race. the trails i run on are very demanding and not to mention summer in kansas might be one of the toughest environments. humidity is high along with the temperatures. there are many water crossings and very uneven terrain. i had been trying many of the other hydration wanabees and found no consistency or effectiveness. about four weeks ago i received a package in the mail with a wonderful solution to my hydration needs. my sister is a barefoot runner in des moines, ia. i hadn't heard of nuun before the early christmas package arrived. i immediately filled the bottle and drank the banana flavored, liquid answer. prior to my nuun experience i had bouts with blisters, slow recovery after long runs and fluctuations in electrolytes. these issues are not issues any more. i can focus on running and not have to worry about taking this & that, now & then restrictor supplements. thank you for providing this wonderful tool that i can use to better myself! on a side note, i had the stomach flu 2 weeks ago. i usually drink "the aide to the gators" to keep hydrated. my wife, being great person she is, had picked up some of the sugar water labeled as a sports drink for me. i was able to get a few sips down and then poured the rest out and filled with water and nuun. the nuun settled my stomach and there wasn't the normal jitters i get from the sugar rush. thanks again.
phil from kansas29 June 2010i wanted to thank you so much for sending us the sample nuun products, bottles, stickers and information cards for the xterra race this past weekend. the nuun was a huge hit and we are very happy to represent nuun. we are very proud of the product and want to thank you very much for your time and product. thanks again...
donna from carytown bicycle co. in richmond, va28 June 2010nothing works like nuun hydration tablets for me. get cramps regularly when hot and working out but one or two glasses and can sleep through the night. wow! take meds (vitamin A) and calcium for hypocalcemia which causes cramping and they do not protect from dehydration cramps but nuun does. thanks.
den from awesometown, usa21 June 2010way over did it working hard in the yard for 5 hours in the hot sun and much too out of shape. didn't hydrate enough either, nearly fainted, could hardly walk inside. dropped a couple nuun in 32 oz of water and colapsed on the couch barely able to lift my arms but only half way done with the drink the limp feeling and ache all over had improved considerably. by the time i finished drinking it all i was energized and ready go! started hiking recently to get back in shape and take my nuun along. instead of being sore and tired when I get back i'm ready to do lots more - usually spending several hours working in the yard. now it and i are starting to shape up!
catt from shasta lake, ca11 June 2010look forward to using. this time of year nuun is literally a lifesaver. people start to fade and scores go up on the back 9. current conditions at 11:40am - 98.5* with a dry 26% humidity. summer hasn't really got here yet.
david, a satisfied believer09 June 2010i wanted to thank you and nuun for making their product available at training camp. i had gotten a couple of samples last year when allison did the nashville half-marathon, but threw them in the door and never used them. at camp i learned just how important electrolyte replacement is and have started using nuun the night before long rides and also during the rides. i don't think i would have tried the product otherwise, but i have sense gone through two tubes and my local shop is stocking it.
tony, from peak2peak training camp29 March 2010i just wanted to tell you that i am a huge fan of your products. the first time i ever tried one of your products was after i finished running a local marathon. as a lifelong competitive runner i knew what to expect from sports drinks or recovery products, and it was truly surprising to see how much of a difference it made on my body afterward. since then i have shared with anyone i could how much i loved your products and what it can do to their performances. the bottom line is you guys are great. thank you again, and best of luck in 2010!
david from hixson, TN11 March 2010i have used the nuun hydration tablets for about 3 seasons now. i cannot explain it but when i am spent from 50+ miles and really feel like i need a break, i take one, along with sipping on my water with the nuun hydration tablets. i am fond of the tri-berry. i take a few drinks, walk around a bit and get back on my bike to finish my ride and it feels as if i had just started my ride. i feel energized, and stronger than when i stopped. now the feeling of being energized is not the same as we have all felt from a coffee or other energy drinks. this feeling is different, you feel good, strong, alert and the next 50 miles just says, yeah, no biggy... i cannot say enough about this product. i am a senior biker and have a few medical issues and biking helps me stay fit and completes my exercise program. thank you nuun and thank you for making this sugar free..... :)
dan from central IL11 March 2010just thought i'd drop my 2 cents. i'm a big fan of the nuun, especially because i can control my calorie intake through fluids. at first, i was having trouble figuring out how to get some calories in on bike rides, with the nuun not having anything. but then i discovered maltodextrin, which you can buy in bulk. now i always have a sports drink, but i can control how much sugar i'm getting, too. so thanks nuun.
chris from our beloved seattle, wa28 January 2010hello nuun, i first want to think you for developing such a great product. i participate in many ultra trail running races (mt bike, motorcycling, and other sports as well) and use nuun exclusively for hydration. i have always struggled with hydration and energy in the past, but not any more. nuun has helped me to stay hydrated, but as a bonus, has allowed me to digest the gels easier when i need the carbs. the bottom line: i can easily go the distance with nuun.
darby who loves to run25 January 2010hi, nuun team! i'm a full time working mom that's training for ironman lake placid this summer. hydration during the day at work has always been a trouble spot for me. i've been using the lemon+lime nuun at work. at a recent stop to rei in d.c. while visiting my sister and brother-in-law, i spotted the goji berry green tea tube. i love it! it is delicious, light and not sweet. it's easy to drink and i find when i finish the bottle, i want another one right away. thanks, nuun, for tuning into athletes and giving us something for hydration that is AWESOME! not to mention easy to carry and not wasteful. you guys rock!
dana from fairport, ny25 January 2010i teach cycle classes and like to do long distance rides. i use nuun and have found noting else that works like it. i used it last year on the s2s (seattle to spokane - one day highway 2) and even though it was over 100 degrees out, i felt great.
john from the west coast25 January 2010just wanted to let you know how well the nuun worked for me at the california international marathon. while i tend to drink water primarily during marathons, i used the nuun as a pre-race electrolyte boost and iended up with a8.5 minute pr of 2:51:59in 124th place overall out ofabout 7500runners. the nuun got me up and ready to go from the start; i look forward to challenging the low 2:40sat some point next year.
jonathan from CA20 January 2010thank you so much...i plan to continue my use of nuun. i am a big advocate of your product. it beats the pants off any other hydrating drink.
kristin28 December 2009thank you so much for making a product that is not filled with unnecessary fillers and coloring. i entered im cozumel and was worried about the humidity and my salt intake. i used a double water bottle and always used the front reservoir with a nuun. on the run i only used gels and always took a small bottle of water and broke half a wafer and drank consistently all evening. i went through an entire container and not once felt like i was out of energy or cramping.
peter from the 51218 December 2009love the product!! my wife and i recent completed our 'year of the race' in which we completed 16 races--a family friend recommended nuun and after the first try we loved it and incorporated into our training and races. we are both in the military and had a very dedicated training schedule that included vast quantities of nuun to help to recover and stay hydrated throughout our long training and races. we are taking it a little bit easier this year (she is doing 2 half ironmans and 1 full ironman triathlon and i am doing three half ironmans) because we will be moving and splitting homes while i go to an orthopedic fellowship. thanks for a great product that is not sticky, easy to drink and helps to combat dehydration during long workouts!!!
jerome, all over, rockin' the nuun17 December 2009when i play golf, i usually walk a whole 18 holes and i can get pretty tired. i usually carry two water bottles. one for the front nine and one for the back nine. water just isn't enough and sometimes, the water in the coolers on the course tastes horrible. what i like about nuun, i can keep a tube in my bag and just use it whenever i need to. i also just joined a gym so i can get some extra workouts down indoors since it's really cold outside this time of year. i hope to use nuun there as well. i'm really glad to be able to try this out for myself and have the opportunity to pass it along to my fellow golfers and friends.
allen who knows lucas!15 December 2009this is my first time trying out this product and so far, i'm loving what i'm seeing from the site. nuun was recommended to me by a professional golfer on the pga tour by the name of lucas glover. he first mentioned nuun in an issue of golf digest magazine and caught my attention when he mentioned "it gives the the same amount of electrolytes from a sports drink, without all the sugar." i was hooked from there. i attended the chevron world challenge golf tournament this past weekend and saw lucas glover pop a nuun tablet in a bottle of water and i asked him how he liked it and he said he "loved it." as a golfer and runner, i can't wait to try nuun out for myself!!
allen, with whom we'd like to be friends with, too09 December 2009hey guys i'm part of a fantastic triathlon team in dubai, UAE called tri 2 aspire. all of my team members use nuun as their chosen electrolyte drink and we all rave about it - it is convenient and tastes awesome. obviously we train all year round and during our long and incredibly hot summer it is so important that we stay hydrated. just wanted to say keep up the good work, we wish you could buy nuun here in dubai at the moment we are importing - its a long running joke within the team that when anyone goes on holiday to their home country they take an extra suitcase for the team nuun order! thanks heaps from me and my team mates Jodie, a kiwi triathlete living, training and working in Dubai
jodie, a kiwi triathlete living in dubai02 December 2009i've been an endurance athlete for years and have tried many sports drinks/supplements/additives, etc. i can truly say that during the very high intensity classes (such as rpm, body attack, etc) i felt as if i had another "gear". i experience no cramping and it seemed as if the point of fatigue was shifted back a bit. not to overstate it--but i liked it enough to begin using it on a regular basis. i've turned a few fellow teachers/trainers on to it--and have heard nothing but good. all that said, you can imagine how happy i was when i heard that nuun was onboard as a product sponsor for our livestrong team. everybody had their nuun bottles on their bikes--and we kept them charged for the 5 + hours that we were out there. every rest stop/aid station had water and "brand-x" sports drink--but we passed on the brand-x--filled up with fresh water and nuun and off we went.
jim, or "jambo", another les mills instructor19 November 2009i purchased a tube of nuun and was hooked after my riding in hawaii. since then i have been using nuun in all rides, runs and at les mills quarterlies and trainings. i used the product daily during my preparation for the filming of rpm 45 this past feb an i had no cramping issues teaching 2 or 3 classes a day. just this past october the entire rpm rooster racing team used nuun for the 90 mile livestrong ride. everyone loved it! nuun comes in a whole bunch of great flavors and it is so portable to travel with. i no longer use any other hydration product for all recreation and athletic endeavors. i have tried them all and nothing works better for me, nothing.
dan, founder of rooster racing and les mills international master trainer19 November 2009i have been using the product nuun for my hydration needs for the past 4 months. i use it every tuesday when i teach rpm and bodycombat back to back and i used it while presenting at the last quarterly when i taught 1 bodypump and 3-rpm classes in one day. for me, it has worked much better than gatorade or powerade (which i used to use). before using nuun i would usually experience cramping at the end of the day on quarterly and always after teaching 2 classes in a row at the gym. i have been recommending this product to my members and personal training clients ever since i started using it myself.
kris, trainer, fitness guru19 November 2009my boyfriend found nuun at funky door yoga about 2 months ago. he was raving raving...so i tried, and now i can't stop raving about nuun. i used to practice Bikram Yoga 3 times a week and was often too tired to do more. now i'm doing 6 days a week, thanks to nuun. from the very first time i tried nuun, i've noticed my recovery being so much faster and better.
erika, who looooves kona cola28 October 2009it's been another great year for me with nuun. thanks to optimal hydration i've been able to finish up my season on a few high notes. 2 weeks ago i finished 3rd overall at the cedar beach sprint triathlon, last weekend 2nd overall at the carl hart duathlon and this morning 1st overall at the wantagh park duathlon (also set a new course record!) nuun has been huge in my training and racing again this year. after pr'ing by 21 minutes at the half ironman distance in july i focused on short course racing to finish the season. training for these races called for high intensity bike workouts on my trainer (in a less than ideal climate in my apartment!) and tough track workouts. nuun helped me stay hydrated and added some great flavor to post workout recovery drinks...glutamine powder is great, just not too tasty mixed with plain water. thanks again for a great product and another year of phenomenal support/customer service. i always race with nuun stickers on my bike helmet and my trusty nuun visor for the run, just trying to show some love!
matt, one of our lovely athletes28 October 2009i have already tweeted to you about how much we love nuun, but i had to email you again. both my 4 year old son, and my 6 year old daughter love your product. they cannot get enough. they drink out of their water bottles with nuun all the time when they are racing bmx. tri-berry is their favorite. my son has also started playing hockey recently, and drinks it during practice. i feel good knowing that they are getting alittle more nutrition that water, yet not a ton of sugar. i want to thank you again. my 2 year old is also hooked now :) i actually had him drink nuun after a horrible night with a gi bug that resulted in an all night fest of vomiting and diarrhea. that day he had bounced right back with no de-hydration whatsoever (my biggest fear). i couldn't resist sending a picture of my 4 year old son on his bmx bike after a break with your fantastic product!!
sue, who brightened our day a touch with those pictures08 October 2009i just got back from a long backpacking trip through the remote corners of southern utah, and nuun has a new fan! hiking in the desert at 90f tends to make hydration kinda important, and fresh water is extremely hard to come by out there. i got my trusty water filter to turn mouldy green pothole water into reasonable water, and now i got nuun to turn reasonable water into easily drinkable optimal-rehydration-water that actually works and doesn't come with the other products' moronic sugar rush that hurts more than it helps when hiking in the desert. and i actually like the little fizz it leaves in the water - surprising how much difference a tiny bit carbonation makes when added to 90f hot drinking water that (without nuun) tastes like, well, only stale pothole water can taste. thanks to the employee at rei in sandy ut who talked me into trying it out :)
philip who likes exploring in UT28 September 2009hello, i am a member of the erin baker's tri team. i heard of your product from being on the team and have been using it this entire year. i was hoping you could pass this email on to the appropriate person. i wanted to personally thank nuun for being a sponsor for the baker's team. i love your product and thrilled that you guys are supporting us. i use nuun during races, training, sitting at work, and yes after a long night of drinking! thanks again for your support.
josh, who made our monday!28 September 2009i would just like to say that nuun has kept me hydrated for training and inline races that i have participated in. i just did a full marathon with the nuun water bottle with me the entire time and obviously with nuun in the bottle, with a little mixture of naked juice as well. i would just like to say to keep up the great work and i'll keep using your product as long as you keep making it!
eric who sent us the coolest inline skating pic21 September 2009your product is amazing! i am a middle/back of the pack age group triathlete training for ironman florida and nuun has been in my bottles before, during and after races. it has a great taste which is not too sweet. after all that liquid nutrition, nuun is a nice treat. the tube fits nicely into my bike's bento box too! it was great to see your representatives at the rock n roll half marathon in chicago, i of course got four tubes was nicely surprised with a water bottle and visor! thanks again for making such a great product!
karla from alexandria, va17 September 2009i am a beginner-intermediate sprint distance triathlete working my way to doing an im one day. i had heard about nuun from one of the more experienced athletes in our triathlon club, so i thought i would give it a try. i had been a user of another product user for years and just wouldn't part with it. well, i'm glad i did! only sorry it took me that long to try it. i really, really enjoyed it. as an athlete who has had gastric bypass hydration and nutrition are always a challenge. i really cannot have sugar and most of the sugar free stuff is filled with sugar alcohols which reek havoc on my stomach! there are not many alternatives out there that don't have a lot of junk in them that my stomach can handle. i also love the packaging -- it makes it so easy to take it with me, and i re-use the containers and bring my vitamins and supps with me on the road! oh, i also mixed nuun with my o.n.e. coconut water and it was fabulous!
donna from the bay area17 September 2009i just had to write and tell you how much my family and i appreciate your product. my husband is a 45 year old type-1 diabetic who was just diagnosed 2 years ago with multiple sclerosis. his mountain bike is his key to good health and when his ms attacked his optic nerve, he thought he might not be able to ride anymore. luckily, this episode was only temporary, put the new ms medication made him feel like he had the flu all of the time and he couldn't ride without throwing up and cramping immensly. all of the hydration drinks he tried had waaaayyyyy too much sugar and really didnt' do much of anything. we stopped the ms medication but the cramping continued. then emily at the bicycle trip in santa cruz, ca recommeded nuun. it saved my husband. he now rides without cramping (no more nighttime cramp attacks), his blood sugar is stable and he is hill-climbing better than ever. my 14 year old son trail rides with him but is also into downhill and dirt jumping. his hands and forearms were cramping and i handed him a water bottle with nuun in it. wow! no more cramping and i don't worry about all the sugar! now my 11 year old is running cross country for his middle school and they had their first meet with all of the schools in the county. it was a hot muggy day and those poor kids were dying. some of them have never run before. boy could i have used about a case of nuun that day! i am going to bring it to his practices and have his coach let the kids try it. i want to thank you again for a product that actually does what it is supposed to!
tami from santa cruz17 September 2009i learned about nuun (i am an avid bicycle rider) in this month's golf digest -- lucas glover mentions your product (p.50). i have been looking for a better no-carb electrolyte drink. ordered a three-pack on your web site just now.
tom, on the green16 September 2009i learned about nuun (i am an avid bicycle rider) in this month's golf digest -- lucas glover mentions your product (p.50). i have been looking for a better no-carb electrolyte drink. ordered a three-pack on your web site just now.
tom, on the green16 September 2009i'd just like to add my name to the list of nuun devotees. i did my first stp (seattle to portland) bike ride last month and i'm pretty sure the only reason i didn't arrive at the finish line on a stretcher was because of nuun. i'm allergic to most artificial colors and if i wanted a sports drink that tasted like sweetened candy vomit i'd go with g****ade. nuun is very pleasant on the palate and adds those delightful little fizzies. it tasted good enough that i was drinking it more often than i would have plain water, and for this reason alone i was so well-hydrated that my pee never reached the "toxic orange" stage it usually gets to on my rides over 4 hours. it remained a cheery light straw color, and boy did it feel good. is that too much information? anyway, i've started using nuun on every ride and i notice a significant difference in my hydration and how i feel afterward. i plan on formulating a cocktail which utilizes the orange ginger flavor. it's either going to be epic in a good way or a bad way, i'll let you know. thanks for the genuinely awesome product!!
rachael from seattle, wa26 August 2009i just wanted to tell you that my wife, jaime "the hurricane" clampitt (hayes), a 4 time boxing champion, she has been using nuun after her workouts and loves it. we have bought every flavor they sell at the rei in cranston r.i. they are all great. we are both trainers of amatures and professional boxers and have had our boxers try nuun after their workouts and we have heard positive things from all of them. thanks for making a great product, and we look forward to trying any new flavors in the future. take care, and thanks again. ryan hayes
ryan, from cranston, RI26 August 2009to the fine folks at nuun- i developed blood sugar problems a few years back so i have to be very careful about what i eat and drink. this is a real pita when it comes to things like re-hydration drinks and tablets as they tend to be chock full of sugar. i head up security for a large computer conference in las vegas (defcon) and that entails a lot of walking around (~10 miles a day according to someones pedometer). i picked up some of the nuun a few years back to see if it could help make my water intake more efficient. well, i am happy to say that not only does it work but a good number of my staff are using your product as well and we continue to buy more each year. i've found that 4 or 5 tablets in my 3l hydration pack really help do the job so i can keep running with a clear head, which is essential in my role with the conference. we'll be ordering in bulk next year to make sure the entire team has access to these. thanks!
noid from vegas25 August 2009i was running the north face endurance challenge in bellingham, wa last weekend. at mile 19 i began to get cramps in my calves. by mile 21 they moved up into my thighs. now, im not a person who cramps up and i was consuming my race normspotatoes, salt, and sugary sports beverage diluted in my hydration pack. but still, i was cramping up, as was the very experienced runner beside me. when we hit the aid station a volunteer (perhaps an angel) said if we were cramping we should try this weird sugar free electrolyte stuff that the rep said was easy on the stomach. i downed two cups. the other runner did the same and we soldiered on. within minutes we were back on top of our games and while the cramps werent gone, they were quite manageable. next aid station i dumped my hydro-pack and refilled with 50/50 nuun/water. my buddy filled both his water bottles with straight nuun. we both finished within our goal times, despite the setbacks we attribute to consuming too much sugar from the popular sports drinks. nuun is by far the best fluid i have ever consumed in a race and i will forever be using it on my runs, both short and ultralong.
donald from our neck of the woods!18 August 2009thanks, nuun, for keeping me healthy through this record breaking heat wave in seattle. i put the tablets in my water bottle for my bike rides home from work and made it safe and sound. i also "nursed" a bottle of water with nuun tablets it while imbibing beer and wine and dancing at a street festival. your product is great and i'm recommending nuun to all of my friends sweltering in seattle this week.
christine, from our hot hometown (well, this week)17 August 2009hi team nuun!
i recently ordered a pair of tri shorts from www.powertri.com
ok...let me just say this...i love this stuff! i played around with it a little bit and let it sit in my bottles a half hour before my ride. i found that the carbonation taste is completely gone after that half hour. i can not stop telling people about this product. my sister tried it, she is a calorie counter. she has completely gone away from gatorade and the powdered drinks and now only uses nuun. i got a new bike a week ago and this stuff is great because it is not sticky like the sugar drinks. when i hear people complain about the sticky drinks getting on their bikes i take the time to introduce them to nuun. this really is a great product! thank you.
shelly, who was a little bit worried about the dissolving part (but she's okay now...clearly)17 August 2009i suggested nuun to my mail man, as i saw him purchase a replacement drink at our local walgreens. he now is using nuun. yesterday, as i came from my mail box with a arm full of mail, i suggested that i was having trouble carrying this amount of mail, and asked, how is that you carry so much more mail? his reply was, "I have a bag and NUUN." how about that?
marlin, from indiana17 August 2009folks at nuun. i was doing my track workout at the u of tampa today. it was 92 with a 105 heat index. the soccer coach was amazed at how well i handled the heat. i told him about nuun. also gave him a tube for himself and his players. hope he orders from you...by the way i am 65 years old...
06 August 2009i am sold on nuun. i recently bought some and loved it. great flavor, and great hydration factor. over the past week i have been drinking it after running and i feel so much better that evening and the next day. your product is great. i have only been drinking the lemon+lime at this point.
jared who we won over24 July 2009just wanted to say that i really like your products (i first tried them last year at ironman hawaii) and i had a chance to try the new flavors at the lifetime fitness club in lakeville, mn today. i also wanted to say that the woman who was working your booth at lifetime was very friendly, knowledgeable and doing an awesome job! to health and happiness.
rich in lakeville, mn24 July 2009i've always been an advocate for proper hydration and drinking lots and lots of water, but only when i learned the real science behind what happens to the body during exercise, etc, did i begin to understand properhydration. so i then started drinking a lot of gatorade & powerade before/after working out, doing active things, but the sugar component was really messing me up. when i came across nuun tablets at the local outdoor outfitter/equipment shop while gearing up for a snowboarding trip and the clerk described them as "all the good stuff from sports drinks without the bad stuff," i decided to give it a shot. fast forward 3 years and a lot of nuun later - i'm now the least-sore member of our annual snowboarding trip group after every day on the slopes and i basically take some with me wherever i go just in case. so, whether it's on the slopes of the rockies, running on the streets of my neighborhood, on the golf course, or hiking at home or abroad, you can bet that i have nuun tablets in my water bottle or hydration backpack. cheers & keep up the good work!
mike, &nwe probably couldn't keep track of him if we tried13 July 2009i have tried nuun and i like it. as a type 1 diabetic it does not mess with my blood sugar, it is the perfect hydration agent for everything but the long endurance rides that i need the other product with the protein in it. i have just applied for my cyclocross license for 2009 and will have some more pictures of probably muddy nuun bottles :) thanks.
thomas from somewhere, u.s. of a.10 July 2009a neurosurgeon friend of mine who cycles as well turned me on to nuun. i was talking to him about my legs cramping on almost every ride, even with G2, and he suggested nuun. i went to my local bike shop yesterday before my ride and loaded up on three flavors and no cramps! im sold on your product. i will be carrying it everywhere i go and especially on my gear at work and on my rides. i will be talking it up around the firehouse to the guys because staying hydrated is crucial to our job performance.

jonathan the firefighter, from broken arrow10 July 2009i have just recently tried your product. i have set a goal for this year to complete my first solo 100-mile cycling trip. with previous failed attempts due to lack of hydration and bonking, i set out to find some type of hydration solution. i decided to try your product once i got to the store selling all these shiny 'solutions' to my problem. not only did your product have a really cool name, but it seemed the most logical and convenient for cycling as it was the only one that did not come in pouches (those little plastic tubes are genius). anyway, I loaded up the water bottles and dropped one of these nuun tablets in and immediately thought, 'wow this is cool!', as the bottle began to bubble and change color. so i set off on my adventure with a tube of the 10 tablets that were left and some granola bars. the last time i attempted this ride i only made it 85 miles and was very fatigued with an average speed of only about 15 mph. this time, with the help of nuun, i felt much less muscle fatigue, much more hydrated, and was able to complete my goal of 100-miles. not only did i complete it, but i really surprised myself. i had completed the first 50-miles at an average speed of about 20 mph and finished overall at about 17mph average. what was more amazing to me was when i was done, i still felt pretty fresh and ready to keep going. nuun helped me accomplish this goal that seemed nearly unattainable merely weeks before. Thanks for an amazing product!,
jason from somewhere, usa10 July 2009tried it and loved it, recomending it to everyone i know. rapidly improving and aiming to be seriously competititve in local triathlons in the very near future. helped me recently to a 24th overall finish at helston sprint tri...
ben who likes stickers02 July 2009just a quick note to say that i love the new banana flavor and hope you will consider making it more than a summer flavor. banana and tri-berry are each favorites, and they are great mixed half and half.
bob from wisconsin02 July 2009i just played singles in the ladies state tennis championships in Mobile, AL. it was over 100 degrees, and the heat index made it about 115. the surface temperature of the court was about 140. what was supposed to be about a 1.5 to 2 hour match on day two at high noon, (after a two hour match on day one), turned into a marathon 3 hr 45 minute mega-rally. i am 49 years old with a high endurance level, but i was no "match" for the sun, heat and extreme humidity without my nuuns. i lost my toenails but won my match, beating a woman at least 10 years my junior. 1 am a Nuuner forever!!!!!
trent from mobile, AL02 July 2009i love this stuff...why haven't i learned about this product earlier? i love the fizz and the cola taste is great. i used to take just gatorade for my long runs and marathons, not anymore, i'm a convert.
aileen02 July 2009i just wanted to let you know i think i may have the new nuun daily intake record. probably not but i just wanted to let you know that i ingested two full tubes yesterday due to a much to long teaching and coaching day. i went through 11 bike bottles with two nuun disks per bottle. i never cramped or had any loss of performance as i remained properly hydrated through out.
thomas who really, really loves nuun19 June 2009first, off I have to say that i absolutely love your product and find it to be one of the best sport drinks out there. [it's] helping me kick my soda habit. which i also find really great is how it's low in calories...i will defeintly keep telling all my freinds about it though, i even wrote about on my blog, and if you could please keep me in contact if you come out with any new flavors and projects. oh ya and can you send a thanks to you crew from nashville expo, i love the nuun water bottle they gave me and haven't stopped using it.
peter from the us of a16 June 2009i recently began working with a nutritionist to improve my daily intake while training and racing. during her evaluation of my diet she encountered nuun for the first time. she was very impressed by the quality of the supplement and the ratio of sodium to potassium, saying that nuun was the perfect choice. just thought i'd share with the good people at nuun. thanks for a great product and great customer service, you've been a huge help to me this year and last year. nuun was in my water bottle during a recent sprint triathlon. the weather was surprisingly warm that day and i'm a heavy sweater in general. by staying well hydrated (which we know involves more than just water!) i was able to finish 4th overall with a 9 minute improvement over last year's result.
matt, who runs tris for us16 June 2009recently had a 50 miler bike ride in 90 degree heat and only had water to drink. after 35 miles i couldnt figure out why my legs felt like bricks in the easiest gear of my bike and why i couldnt think clearly stopped by the side of the road and remembered that i had a nuun tablet in my seat pack that had been given to me in my race packet. had never used one before but 10 minutes after taking it with about 10 ounces of water i felt stronger than ever. will have them all the time from now on.
lisa from texas15 June 2009i am walking in the breast cancer 3day, and visited a store called second sole in rocky river, ohio, to purchase a hydration pack. the nice salesman (bill) asked me how my training was going. i explained to him that i was exhausted, only after walking 7 miles that day. he told me that i needed to replace my electrolytes to get rid of the fatigue, and gave me some nuun samples. i am amazed at how much better i feel, and how much energy i have. i am going back to the store to buy a whole bunch more! i've been blabbing about it to everyone I know.
colleen from oh11 June 2009got the nuun for denali climb just in time! it was a huge hit...shared with other climbers, you've got a new client base; great reviews!! favorite was new kona cola...found out it makes a great mixer w jack daniels if you're stuck in a mtn storm at 14k ft for 6 days...
johnny the explorer, nuuner, altitude mixer10 June 2009you guys saved my life; no kidding.....never heard of nuun, but got lost on a bike ride and ended up panicing because I suffer from chronic hypoglycemia and had no liquid nor food with me.....i never need liquid nor food on a short 33 miler.....there was a stop and someone said try this; i said it can't have any sugars; they said it didn't and it was even printed on the label.....i couldn't believe it....no s@%t guys: within like 30 seconds of my first sip i could feel something changing in my body; i wasn't shaky or panicy anymore.....i drank two full waterbottles of nuun and made it back to the start after riding 60 miles on a heavy steel mtn bike....made a believer out of me.....i'm always a sceptic; never believed in these drinks....learned my lesson
an awesome randy with a scary bike ride02 June 2009i love your tablets i fell in love with your product during a 12 hour MTBike race where i ate way to many turkey sandwiches during one of my breaks. i thought for sure i was going to throw up on my next lap (oh, it was 95 that day and very humid) i ran an extra strong nuun camel back that lap it really seemed to help settle my stomach and help me digest the food. i now like to use the tablets if i am just doing chores outside and want flavor in my water. i also use them when i guide rafts or kayak. i have told all the other guides about nuun, but i keep forgetting to bring an extra tube to the raft shop. like so many other people out there they like to drink gatorade for the electrolytes but hate all the extra sugar, so they cut it with water but unfortunately cut the electrolytes. during flu season, when my friends got sick i gave them nuun to take instead of gatorade and they also seemed to like it. i have seen what proper electrolyte intake can do during endurance events and I plan having my wife drink nuun when she goes into labor with our first child anyway, it is obvious that I love your products and I thought you might like hear the feedback.
matt02 June 2009i had my half ironman race in florida on may 17th, 82 degrees and very humid. i used nunn as my hydration on the 56 mile and it worked great. it got me to and through the run feeling relatively good, no cramping, no headaches. thanks for your help
david from NYC02 June 2009hey, i just placed another order. my first order is gone! the first race of the year went well! with the help of nuun i won! 18 hours of fruita. 35 laps 210 miles beatin the geared boys on my single speed. i currently live in fruita and work at the bike shop here and we just had our 14th annual fat tire. i hosted a couple of parties and nuun and vodka was the hit! i turned many people on to nuun and used up my supply.
dereck from CO22 May 2009i just wanted to say thanks for making such a great product. i used the lemon lime nuun tablets as my drink last weekend during the keys 100. a 100 mile footrace from key largo, FL to key west, FL. the weather at times was in the low 90s with humidity but never experienced a single issue and nuun kept me going. the flavor is perfect and not overly sweet which made it easy to drink during the hot parts of the day. i started and finished with nuun and was one of the factors that lead to the success i had at the race. i completed the keys 100 as the overall winner in a time of 16 hours 31 minutes and winning by 2 hours and 10 mins. also in the process set the new course record. thank you again as it was one less thing i had to worry about during the race. keep up the great work.
brian from FL22 May 2009i take care of my 88 year old mother and we keep nuun on hand for those times that she may need rehydration. she likes it enough that she drinks it daily and maintains her electrolye balance. we also keep it in our hurricane supplies, etc. and of course for camping. never know when one of the grandchildren might be in the sun too long, etc. thank you for such a well thought out, convenient product.
suze20 May 2009thanks again for the great nuun product. i have been using it religiously and spreading the word whenever possible. i also really liked the U product as does my sister-in-law. my father came to visit just before christmas and was complaining that his blood pressure was very low. i should preface this by saying that he has had a heart attack, a quad bypass, both femoral arteries bypassed and currently has 7 stents! anyway, i picked him up at the airport with a cold bottle of nuun. he drank that bottle and one later that night. his blood pressure shot straight back to normal within 24 hours of using the nuun. he is also hooked and raided my stash taking several tubes home to texas with him. great product!! Hope all is well with you. Thanks, David David Guinn
david from cali18 May 2009i just wanted to write and tell you what a great product you have. i use one tablet in 2/3 of a water bottle before every hard ride and race. if i'm going for a longer ride, i put another tablet in one of my bottles. when i started doing this, i noticed an immediate improvement in how i felt on rides and in races. anyway, i just wanted to say thanks for a great product.
joe from tennessee13 May 2009just received my order and it is FANTASTIC. great job. keep em coming
WR13 May 2009have been using nuun for several months. i was prone to severe leg cramps. my cramping problems for the most part are non-existent.
bob from somewhere, u.s.a.06 May 2009last week i was outta nuun. i was suffering at work with plain water. during that week i went to PCC and noticed a natural hydration product, i bought a tube (just to get me through a few days), feeling badly for supporting another company. two days later, i read the label more clearly and low and behold! it was a nuun product. yea! i really like the natural version, lighter and different flavors for at work when i'm not always sweating up a storm. i also like that theres another great product to choose when supporting the company that sponsors my cycling team.
lori from seattle, who is also riding for team cucina fresca05 May 2009i am the mother of a 23 year daughter that had to have her colon removed to save her life. in looking for solutions to her constant problem with hydration i discovered your product on drugstore.com. prior i was buying cases of gatorade which is full of calories and other ingredients not necessary for hydrating oneself. i decided gatorade was not good for people with GI disease who only needed hydration. i bought my daughter the triberry nuun over a year ago and it has been a hit. we have hot, humid summers in connecticut and this tablet has helped my daughter survive this unbearable season.
frances, who is very good, and is also from connecticut04 May 2009i know this is a shot in the dark, but after having come back to seattle to visit and ominously buying a tube of nuun, i needed to reach out. ok, every April we head out to hawaii where the family spring games are held, well, thats at least the way they feel like. plenty of hiking, LOTS of snorkeling and various other activities. needless to say, one is left feeling depleted and in need for a nap, so i saw nuun at metropolitan market and thought i would take some along to see how it goes. well, it turned out great. now i just need to find it out here in chicago, my new home, and i'm all set for the coming sun, if it ever comes out :)
patrick, who visited seattle but lives in chicago (we think)04 May 2009i use nuun regularly on my bicycle rides. it works well for my hydration needs as i am diabetic. today i was working in my garden all day and at the end of the day was very dehydrated. i drank water all day not thinking about my electrolytes. my right hamstring started cramping. while i was hopping around trying to work it out my left thigh cramped. i hobbled to my cycling bag and got out a tube of nuun. i dropped 2 tablets in a glass of water and chugged it still fizzing. i refilled it and chugged it again. the cramps went away almost instantly and did not come back. thank you. you really have a great product.
dan from jacksonville, FL29 April 2009i've really never been won over by any of the sports drinks or electrolyte replacement fluids...well, that is until today. while on a training ride this morning, one of the riders i was with popped a table into his water and i just had to ask him what it was. he said, 'nuun', as if i heard of it. i didn't! he asked me if i wanted to give it a try. i did. not only did I like the flavor (not disgustingly sweet, not overly salty), but i actually had energy to spare at the end of a strong ride (20-22mph against a decent head wind). i was impressed with your product.
dr. dennis from hot, hot florida20 April 2009hi my name is jim out of cincinnati, ohio. i will be a presenter at the WSSC this year and just received the sample of your hydration tablets. i wanted to thank you so much and let you know how i feel about your product. the tablets help me not only in fitness but real life!!! i am a firefighter for the city of cincinnati, in our environment hydration is one of the biggest and most over looked factors while we fight fires. not only during the hot summer months, but the bone chilling cold. we deal with temperatures that will pull energy out of our bodies in seconds!!!! as a fitness nut on my off days from the firehouse, i always look for items that will not only help with fitness but at my work as well!!! the product sample you sent will also be used at the firehouse as well as the fun things in life as far as fitness!!! inmy opinion, fitness and firefighting go hand and hand and your product aids in hydration during firefighting. i really like them, no sugar taste, quick and easy, therefore will definitely recommend them as well. perfect for work or fun. THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
jim, from cincinnati14 April 2009dear all at nuun, i have now used your tablets at the north pole crossing the greenland icecap and just returned from the south pole where i used them again daily they have been superb the misconception of minus fourty and fifty degrees C and hydration isnt important is ludicrous i have been using these ever since i found them in extreme adventures and they have helped me and my teams walk further and help combat altitude sickness as we have been able to hydrate quicker please pass on my thanks to all a great product thank you from the ends of the world
alan chambers, MBE, (yes, that's the polar explorer extraordinaire)02 April 2009i love nuun! i am just an 'average julie' marathon runner but i incorporated nuun in my training during my last marathon and i think it helped a TON! i have recommended it to all my running friends, trainer and chiropractor - some of them are slower to figure out how great it is but i am still 'talking it up'!!! i ran the nike womans marathon in san francisco last october. i hydrated the day before during my training and usually after with nuun. then after the marathon i must have drank 6 bottles of water with nuun and felt like a rock star the next day! i am now training for the newport, oregon marathon in may. i have started using nuun in my water bottle during my long runs. we ran 18 on sunday and again felt great the next day! thank for your product, i think it is the best thing i have found in a long time. PS: lemon+lime is my favorite. i buy it by the box!!!
a not-so-average julie31 March 2009nuun is still my favorite--thanks for helping me electrolyte replace properly!
catherine from somewhere, usa12 March 2009nuun is great...i love how it doesnt really have carbs in it...that way i can drink Nuun knowing that i can get my carbs from another source after my exercise! i will be trying out the orange ginger one soon (i hear that one is very popular in the states)...
joce from down under11 March 2009thank you for making such a great product! i am a young female and suffer from bradycardia/tachycardia and dangerously low blood pressure. nuun tablets have been the most effective way for me to stay hydrated and they truly help me get through the day. i was instructed to drink 4 bottles of pedialyte daily, but not only was that expensive at $5 + a bottle, the sugar content was through the roof. nuun allows me to keep my electrolytes in check without spiking my insulin levels which in turn raises my blood volume. now my employees can no longer make fun of my "baby juice bottles" i used to have all over the place. seriously though it is nice finding such a great product that is not marketed for children or loaded with sugar. thanks again and keep up the great work!
nicole from maryland11 March 2009i just wanted to send a quick thank you to the good people at nuun! nuun can be found in water bottle on the pool deck, it's about the only thing i can stomach during swim workouts. it's also in one of my fuelbelt bottles during my long runs, my aerobottle on the bike and in every couple glasses of water during the work day. nuun is a great break from sugary sports drinks and gives me a great way to fulfill my need for electrolytes during my long workouts. i know i'll have nuun in my jersey pocket for my half ironman races this summer...i wouldn't leave home without it. thanks again, i look forward to a successful season with nuun.
matt10 March 2009some of the world's most enthusiastic endurance and adventure athletes come from around here and we use far too many sugary drinks in disposable bottles in training and prepping for events-which is why i'm so keen to get nuun in aus.
adam the aussie10 March 2009nuun is hands down the best hydration drink i have tried to date, i used to use some of the more of the "popular" advertised sports drinks but found that when i was on my mtn bike i would end up with stiches or a belly full of heavy sugar, slowing me down and making me lethargic. with nuun i have not had a stich since, i have extra energy during my rides and really helps in post ride recovery, (its not too bad after a night out on the town either ;p )
hayden from down under27 February 2009i <3 NUUN and i've turned several of my runner friends on to it, too! we love that it's portable and is not sugar-filled like other sports drinks out there. it's so easy to refill our bottles during long runs. we don't have to be weighted down by carrying around extra bottles. plus, it's better for the environment! so yeah.. we totally <3 Nuun =)
sheryl, who occasionally blogs good things about us26 February 2009i purchased some of your nuun electrolyte hydration triberry tablets and they are excellent for post long haul travel anti-jet lag rehydration.
terry from new zealand10 February 2009i can't live without my nuun! it absolutely gets me through my training season and replenishes me for my next work out session.
kimberly from DART-nuun03 February 2009great product, excellent for the hot and humid tropics...keep it up!
jose from belize02 February 2009dear nuun, my wife and I just finished summiting mt. kilimanjaro. we could not have done it without you! nearly every time we filled our canteen's during the 8 day hike, we plopped a nuun tablet in with the water. tasty, healthy, and easy, we are very happy with your product.
seth from gainesville, fl19 January 2009thank you for you product! i have stage 4 cancer and your drink has helped me tremendously, especially with the pain. thanks again.
a very brave cheryl14 January 2009hi. i just wanted to let you know that i think your product is awesome. it really helps me through all of my physical activities such as hockey, running, and spin classes, and without the lousy heartburn some other sport drinks give me.
jason from somewhere, usa14 January 2009hi, my friend is having gastric bypass and she mentioned that she'll have to drink loads of liquids during recovery and that some people in her therapy group were trying to find alternatives to crystal light and plain water. i'm sending her some nuun. come to think of it my husband also drinks loads of liquids due to his kidneys being damaged by cancer and he is totally hooked on nuun now just because he gets so bored of water and i don't want him drinking juice & gatorade all day. PS: love the new orange ginger
sarah form the us of a13 January 2009hi nuuners, i've tried it and love - made the second half of my summer race series SO much easier. has made my fall swim program fly by, a surprising property: gets the taste of chlorine out of your mouth better than other hydration drinks...ok maybe don't trying mouthfuls of cl water to test it...just take my word for it. i'm excited to try the flavours beyond lemon lime soon! keep up the bubbly dissolving goodness. cheers!
jeff from vancouver island16 December 2008i use nuun for my daily hydration needs. nuun is great because it provides me with all the electrolytes without all of the high fructose corn syrup of other sports drinks.
justin, with quite the list of accomplishments15 December 2008nuun is brilliant. i'm going to give it to the guys on my downhill mtb team as gifts this holiday season. i like the light taste and lack of sugar and calories.
michael from san rafael, ca04 December 2008i used you product when i was sick to avoid becoming dehydrated!!! it was the only thing that would stay down!!!! thanks for a great product, it's not just for athletes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
james from the u.s. of a.03 December 2008i've been a nuun user for a couple years now. i first discovered it while searching out alternatives to the standard gator aid powders and such. from the first time i used nuun i was impressed! it has just enough flavor and i could definitely see results from the electrolytes. i've been a running for most my life and i've jumped into the world of triathlon just a couple years ago. i use and love nuun on a daily basis! my friends always ask, "what is that fizzing in your water bottle?" i am always excited to spread the word about nuun, in fact this past summer on a trip a bunch of our friends who are also runners decided to give nuun a try. they now swear by it as i do, one of them jokingly said we've started the nuun revolution. i agreed!
garrett, under the space needle19 November 2008i sit at a desk all day drinking water, and nuun is just what I need to give the water an extra kick. i also run triathlons and do yoga, so i understand how important hydration is. i love that is doesnt have that fake sugar taste like other "all natural, organic" electrolyte replacement mixes i've tried. i recommend nuun to everyone and anyone, and i look forward to trying U. it's also important to me to support a local product. just wanted to send some prop's and say great job on the FAQ portion of your website, love the humor.
amber from our very own seattle!19 November 2008i would like to thank all of you at nuun for producing an excellent product. i used your drink mix as my sole source of hydration during the 08 mountain masochist trail run. i never heard of it before and used it for the first time, going against the rule of never using a product you haven't used during training, and it performed wonderfully. in fact, i felt so good i competed in and won the iron horse competition by bench pressing a 135 lb. barbell 33 times (I weigh 140 lb.) without nuun, i wouldn't have crossed the finish line.
tony18 November 2008i am absolutely addicted to this amazing product. i wouldn't think of competing in, or even training for a triathlon with out it! i continue to tell as many folks as i can, including my coach, about how amazing this stuff is. i use nuun every single time i drink water, (which is almost all I drink with the exception of milk, tea and my recovery drink). i feel i should buy stock in the company for as much as i've purchased...they even know me as the "nuun girl" at rei where i go get my "fix" when i run out! thank you for creating this drink for athletes that don't think adding unnecessary garbage, (like sugar), to our bodies is an option!
rebekah from fort collins, co18 November 2008they not only help my runs, but as the FAQ's suggest fantastic for the morning after a wild night.
hill from hot and humid fort myers, fl18 November 2008using the nuun hydration tablets has transformed my practice of bikram yoga which i have done five or six times a week for more than five years. the practice is done in a heated room and is very vigorous, causing extremely heavy sweating. sipping water treated with a tablet before and during the practice helps to keep up my strength to work deeper, to finish strong and recover rapidly. i've also noticed another benefit. before i began using the nuun product, i would get serious cravings for snacks several hours after practicing that i suspect were caused by electrolyte depletion and would often end up consuming way too many extra calories, which of course is no good for controlling body fat. since starting to use the hydration tablets several months ago those cravings have disappeared and I find it easier to maintain a healthy weight, especially important for me personally since i am a diabetic. nuun hydration tablets, which i call "magic pellets," have become an essential part of my yoga practice -- i can't imagine doing a practice without first dropping one of the tablets in my water bottle.
another thegroceryonline.biz fan05 November 2008i discovered these at a local sports store. instead of spending a couple dollars on vitamin water, i pop one of these tabs into my reusable bottle. it's taken just a little bit on discipline but once you get in the habit, you'll save money and not create more pollution from discarded plastic bottles. the flavors i've tried are the citrus and berry; both are excellent. not too sweet. makes drinking water fun, and good for you.
a fan of thegroceryonline.biz05 November 2008i just returned from my second mission trip to haiti. our water source is controlled while we're there, but i'm very picky about how my water tastes and need something to encourage me to drink more. the first time i took some sports drink packets from another company to make sure i stayed hydrated. this time, i wanted something lighter in taste, in color (the red sports drink i took last time got plenty of looks and i felt guilty drinking it in front of the haitians!) and easier to pack. in my search, i stumbled onto nuun. i bought all of the tri-berry available from both of my nearby rei stores and stuffed them into my duffle. they worked well for me in haiti - light enough i was drinking plenty, staying well-hydrated and healthy. at one point, we had another team member that was facing a serious case of heat stroke after a strenuous hike over two mountains in high heat and humidity (and we were nowhere near any medical facilities). after getting her back to the village and icing her down, other team members were trying to get her to drink another sports drink with not much success. she was at a point she just couldn't stomach it. another nuun user and i got her to try the nuun. much better! we were so glad we had the nuun! i really believe it made a major difference in her recovery. i'm guessing there'll be more people packing nuun for our next trip...i know i will be!
jenn who travels in hot climates03 November 2008hey all at nuun, i love your superior product. i am an ultra runner and mountaineer and it means so much to me to be able to utilize an effective hydration which holds the enviornment and performance as priority. i have been using the tablets as soon as i learned of them earlier this year. i recently fulfilled an interesting request for a friend. she was not able to bear children and i donated my oocytes (eggs) to her and her husband. it was an awesome process. you have to take injections everyday for a month. one of the side effects is often crippling headaches. the donor and receipient both often experience this. i told my friend who is a doc and she told me if i increased my eletrolytes the headaches would subside. nuun was a godsend. she had me drinking 3 quarts a day. the docs affiliated in fertility is a tight group of folks i spread the word about the electrolyes to other women who were in serious pain (you could see it on their faces) in the waiting room. my phyisican was unaware of this simple and awesome solution. now all of the patients and docs at my clinic are all nuun drinkers. we (and our husbands) thank you. i just wanted to let you know how awesome it worked for me and my friends. if you ever wanted to expand to another market, all of those women are just waiting for you. thanks so much for your awesome support in my sport and in my life! thanks a million.
sarah, who gives to a noble cause03 November 2008i just want to send you a quick email to let you guys know that your product is amazing! i have tried every hydration product that is out there and not one of them comes close to nuun. i am a backpacker and climber and i never leave for a trip without a few bottles of nuun. my backpacking trips are never less than 60 mile treks that take me all over the southwest to the northeast. my upcoming trip will be a 132 mile hike in 5 days in the adirondacks of ny and you could be sure that nuun was with me in my backpack.
jonathan, who's slightly mad for hiking28 October 2008love the product...picked it up at the chicago marathon expo and use it for my bike rides daily. great taste that goes down very smooth unlike other drinks. i will be a life time buyer. i even have your sticker on my car so others will ask me about your products!
rick from IL21 October 2008we're really enjoying your product. after having used heed, ultra, etc...for years this is a breath of fresh air! thanks.
j.r. who orders online20 October 2008i rock climb year round, and often have to climb two days in a row. i've struggled with having energy at the end of the day and extremely sore muscles 2nd day on. the same goes with my running, but that was until i learned that i was experiencing an electrolyte balance. a friend gave me nuun and i see the huge difference - it enables me to keep performing. the same friend handed a tablet to another climber who was experiencing muscle cramps and was convinced his day was done. however, after a dose of nuun, his muscle cramps disappeared.
stephanie from lexington15 October 2008you guys rule...only tasty, effective hydration for the long haul. thank god it's portable, too!
jeremy from ca14 October 2008this stuff is marvelous, i am recruiting new afficionados! thank you!
our brilliant fan jeff14 October 2008thanks for making a quality product that helps my physical body achieve my mental goals.
ryan from OR13 October 2008dear nuun, we used nuun in the Grand Canyon from the South Rim to the North Rim in one day. it was 110 degrees in the box, and nuun got us through. my daughter used another product but the tabs did not dissolve in her stomach, and she tossed them up, and without the electrolytes and too much water she finished the canyon walk but needed to be flown to an ICU in flagstaff for hypotrenia. she was about an hour from passing on. recoved in the ICU in 24 hours. nuun would have save a lot of hassle and money.
marlin (with a scary experience!)13 October 2008hi guys, after having tried your product for the first time i am in complete awe of it! i have always struggled to stay rehydrated for any events over 3 hours, but after using nuun for the first time the other day i managed over 5 hours of exhausting hill work and still felt fresh after the ride! this is definately down to your product as it was the ONLY difference i made to my normal routine of the usual 1 litre of water per hour plus energy drink and wow what a difference it made. i usually finish after about 3 hours with the usual headache coming on, but not this time, my head was the clearest it has ever been, and my legs felt so fresh that i didn't even notice them climbing the 3 flights of stairs at the fire station (i normally struggle after the first flight!) so i must thank you for your product and can only say that it is now one of the key ingredients in my training regime, many, many thanks.
graham in the uk01 October 2008i have been riding mountain bikes and motocross for the last fifteen years and after two or more hours my head starts to pound. my doctor has been trying to sort this for me for the last five years; i have tried diet and all manor of pills some with strange side effects but still no cure. my bad head could last anything up to three days. just the other day i saw this tube on the counter of my local cycle shop and asked what it was they told me "probably the best drink you will ever drink." i took a tube and tried it . well what can i say, remarkably no more bad heads, i am absolutely astonished that doctors could find no cure yet these little pills not only taste good but are quit simply a fantastic solution to a long time problem that at times has almost driven me to giving up the sports i love. a massive thank you nuun.
andy from england29 September 2008the highlight of my long bachelor party weekend was an epic, 10-hour mountain bike ride in crested butte, CO that started with 33 switchbacks and ended with three of us lost above timberline with a thunderstorm moving in. when the four-day ride-fest was over, two tubes of nuun i had left on the condo counter were empty and two kegs of good beer were not - we ended up draining them on the lawn before heading back home. some might say a bachelor party sans strippers and puking was lame, but i say thanks to nuun for allowing us to push ourselves to the absolute limit!
chris from salt lake city, and also senior copywriter at 3point518 September 2008i have to say, i have been working in the heat quite a few years. i have always struggled to stay hydrated. this has been the first band camp and football game that i have gotten thru without being dehydrated; thanks for your product. it is great.
gary...in a very hot location17 September 2008awesome! thanks. i drank nuun all through a big race last weekend. vaportrail125.com. really helped!
aaron, editor of a rather big outdoors magazine16 September 2008great product, i cycle 15 miles a day, i had really bad cramps and couldn't stop them, until i tried nuun and bingo, problem solved. so thanks to all the team for saving my legs!
lorien from the uk15 September 2008i work at a bike shop (nuun is one of our products). i don't have much time to ride or work out, so don't need nuun, but i buy it by the case. my wife and i just enjoy drinking it around home. it goes down much easier than straight water. all we have ever had was the tri-berry flavor, i didn't even know another flavor existed. keep up the good work.
dan from lapeer, MI12 September 2008...paddling on the Killik (look it up) kona cola did the job
jim from alaska08 September 2008once again, nuun got me through burning man without a problem! surviving a week of late nights, dust storms and blistering afternoon heat doesn't come easy for many people. i use nuun as my secret weapon to stay hydrated in conditions that leave many others down for the count. i was unable to defend my title at the black rock city criterium this year due to a broken pelvis caused by an unpleasant encounter with a car while bike commuting in july, but i plan to return and reclaim it next year. my favorite playa drink is 2 citrus nuun per pint of tazo green ginger iced tea. the new cola and orange flavors were awesome in the iced tea as well. thanks nuun!
wendy from vashon, wa05 September 2008i just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your support during the first stage of lisa's 810. i was on her crew and had the opportunity to spend that time with lisa, and also with marybeth. what an experience! they are certainly two of the most powerful women i've ever met. the cause of AIDS orphans is so compelling that it has really started to resonate with people now that they're becoming aware of the scope and the depth of the problem. of course awareness, and action, are what lisa's 810 is all about--and we couldn't have managed it without the generous support of lisa's sponsors, like nuun. lisa has been my coach for over two years now, and based on her recommendation i started using nuun products, and i wouldn't go without them now. i used them in the sahara this spring during the marathon des sables (and took advantage of your discount offer on the nuun website then). the results were just great. in particular, i found the tablets easy to carry and then get into my water bottles. in the past i've used powders that go all over the place and then get very sticky on the outsides of the bottles. yours are wonderful products! so thank you again, and i wish you the best.
terry05 September 2008while travelling in the boston area last may i purchased two packs of nunn at a bike shop. the shop really spoke highly of the effectiveness and handiness of the product so i thought i'd try them. a month later i competed in the etape du tour cycle race and had great results. throughout the day i drank 6 waterbottles with nunn tablets. no cramps which have often been a problem in the past. i also found drinking to be a pleasure rather than a chore.
john in le france04 September 2008i can't have aspartame or any of that fake sugar because it gives me migraines. i discovered this at funky door yoga in san francisco, and have been thrilled with it! as a flight attendant, hydration is a must. i plop one in a water bottle and i am all set.
eileen a mile high03 September 2008i love your product, thank you! nuun turns my water into the perfect hydration, making it easy to maintain proper electrolyte balance without the extra sugar and artificial stuff. a fun nuun story: just a few weeks ago while enjoying a pre-race dinner before the pigman half ironman, i popped a nuun in my water, and before i knew it, my tube was empty and all 10 people at the table were watching their water transform into 'perfect Hydration'. now i need to carry two tubes of nuun wherever i go because friends don't let friends train without nuun!
cathy who's a big fan02 September 2008hey guys, while climbing isn't comparable to running a marathon or triathalon, as a climber i lose a lot of water just hiking from cliff to cliff and climbing in the 90 plus degree weather of my local crag, the red river gorge ky and all across the united states. luckily you guys have created a perfect and easy way to keep hydrated through out all my treks. you guys have been with me on every climbing trip this year so far, and have been keeping me hydrated through all my hardest sends, so just writing to say thanks, and send you a little picture from 95 feet up on the beautiful sandstone of the rrg.
james from the top02 September 2008nuun has changed my perspective on hydration. now it's not a battle to get water down when my stomach hurts. it's enjoyable...even on those grueling super-century bike rides in the mountains! thank you, nuun!
colin from snohomish, wa25 August 2008my husband and i LOVE this product and have noticed a difference in our ability to handle heat all due to this product. we follow a low carb diet and this product does not change our diet needs and allows us to be able to train and next year race for the first time at couer d'alene ford ironman!
michelle from spokane, wa25 August 2008thank you! nuun is great, i love it. one of the few things i have found that i can drink while running and not upset my stomach or make my mouth dry up! the really fun thing is putting one in a camelback bottle and closing it up. the first time you bite on the valve, you get a nice rush! anyway, great product. i am definitely a devoted fan.
martin from virginia25 August 2008thanks. great products. great customer service. much appreciated.
brandon from lincoln, ne20 August 2008the lack of sweetener takes a little getting used to (like tom's of maine toothpaste) but i am happy with the product, especially so because it contains no artifical dyes. i am glad that you also have the breakable tabs to fit into bottles. thank you for your healthy product, and i look forward to ordering a 9-pack in the future.
jeff, who is partial to orange ginger19 August 2008yesterday just before a (bicycle) race one of my teammates found she had a handlebar end cap missing. my quick thinking husband took the top off of a nuun tube and plugged the empty space. the cap fit great and may have saved the race for her (the officials could have told her she could not race had the missing bar end been noticed). another reason to always have a tube of nuun!
eden and burton from our native seattle17 August 2008my husband and i live in the sweat factory otherwise known as houston, and we are training through the summer for some bike races, half marathons and half ironmans through the fall. neither of us can tolerate sugary sports drinks, and we went searching for alternatives. we tried a non-nuun knock-off, and it was oookkkaaayyy, but then we came upon nuun, and the heavens parted and angels sang! We now order it off your website since we always are out to buy more at once than any of the local bike shops even have on display! all the flavors are great. we play russian roulette, blinding dropping flavors in water bottles so that we are surprised when we take the first sip. seriously, it isn't sticky, it isn't too sweet, it tastes good and refreshing, we are cramp free, we drink MORE which is better for us. the containers are light and easy to carry. we wish you gave them away, but since you don't, at least it isn't as expensive as all those nasty pre-made overly sugared sports drinks. last week you went to a 71 bike race with us, next week the hotter than hell hundred, and you'll be heading to the oakbrook half marathon outside chicago and the longhorn half ironman in austin soon. we have your bumper stickers on our cars, and we bought some of your water bottles. we can't wait to convert the world to nuun, a more effective and healthier alternative to the -ades!
pamela (and eric) from houston15 August 2008i love the stuff...crucial on all of my long runs now that its summer in southern california. i live a pretty insanely busy life and its perfect...really easy and it works. so thanks for making it! and just a note: rock climbers seem to like it too...a bunch of my friends climb and with just a little encouragement converted from beer and soda to nuun...which they became just as addicted to (in a better way of course).
julie from socal15 August 2008this stuff is wonderful, and the flavor is perfectly light.
robert from sunny ca14 August 2008my order was for me, my trainer, my brother and my workout partner. my brother drinks a lot of water when working outside, and in the 105+ degree texas summer weather couldn't understand why all the water he drinks doesn't quench his thirst. now he's a firm believer in nuun - just for day-to-day activities. he was really shocked at how much better he felt with 1 large bottle of water with nuun than he did after 2 or 3 or even 4 bottles of plain water. i gave my trainer some extra tubes. she is the assistant department head in the PT department at the gym. she shared some of hers with her staff and it was a huge hit. after they ran through 2 tubes in a couple of days, she sent them all to your website to get their own. one of the engineers i work with runs marathons and triathlons with his wife. we were discussing his training yesterday and explained all about nuun and its benefits to one of our new team members, so i gave him a tube. ...all those extra tubes you sent certainly went to good use! i've been spreading the good news! not only does the product speak for itself, but your excellent customer service impressed everyone i shared this with. thanks again!!!
deanna from hot austin, tx07 August 2008i love nuun, it gets me through (too) long days at the office and keeps me ready to move (yoga, hike, NIA, cycle, 2 kids) after.
fran from boulder05 August 2008hello, i am a lieutenant on a fire department in ohio. recently while instructing at a training fire, i began feeling the effects of dehydration. a friend who uses your product during his extreme workouts offered me your product. within 20 minutes i felt like a new man. i then went to our fire department and requested that your product be placed on our engines for rehab on fire scenes.
thomas from ohio05 August 2008i have been using your nuun tablets for several weeks now and have been very pleased with the product. i am a cyclist and the portability of the tablets is a big plus. i fill my water bottles up and just drop in a tab and its ready to go. love it.
chip02 August 2008i tried the orange ginger flavor nuun sport drink tablets when i ran. i LOVED it! i am telling all my running friends to try it. it's not too sweet like other sports drinks. it does not give a bad aftertaste. when i am running, i don't feel thirsty. i think your product is great! thanks!
previously thirsty kyoko02 August 2008seriously, i am a HUGE nuun fan and use nuun daily in my life as well as during exercise. i have turned on friends to nuun as well. and, just learned that nuun is truly an animal-friendly product (no animal testing, no animal products) which is a MAJOR BONUS for me and many others i know (you could market a lot in that community). just about to purchase myself some more nuun!
jen from the east coast01 August 2008yesterday was my first ever ride with nuun. my summary is this: hasta la vista, gatorade!!
loren from covina, ca31 July 2008i started using nuun in my attempt to wean myself from drinking diet coke. i wanted to stop pouring chemicals in my body and to stop creating demand for aluminum cans. i am amazed, but i went cold turkey, no problems. i love water + nuun just as much as i loved soda, maybe more.
robyn in sunny central ca31 July 2008i am a 67 year old, retired yacht broker. i know what water is all about: "in it," "on it," "with it," and "with-in." what seems fun to do, now that i am retired, is haul stones around my yard as landscaping is my new hobby. at my age, being in pretty good shape, the old legs just don't work like they should at the end of the day. cramps being the big problem. i discovered gatorade helped. so, i then realized electrolytes seemed to be the issue. as the creators of nuun discovered you can't find electrolytes "almost anywhere." with a last ditch effort, lucky me, i found any mountain in corte madera, just as they received some free samples. being the salesman that i am, i walked away with a free tube of the kona cola. what a gift! all i can say is thank you for a great product and giving my legs back. i would come out of retirement to let others know of nuun.
wayne from mill valley, ca30 July 2008thanks for your prompt service. you have a great product and excellent customer service!
mike30 July 2008i was at the FSA grand prix track cycling race this past weekend and i tried your product. i needed to find a hydration product that worked for me. well, you name it, i have tried them, refresh, electrolyte tablets from natural factor, e load and the list goes on. nothing seemed to work, not to mention i also have to be careful of sugar and preservative content. this weekend i came across your product at the booth set up. on the saturday morning i have one tablet diluted in my water bottle. in the afternoon i had another one before my warm up and spin on the rollers. my first race was at 7pm. the difference in my legs was AMAZING, no cramping, no tightness. i was given legs that just wanted to go and go they did. this was the first time this season my legs cooperated with me and i felt great! my fellow canadians that were racing even commented on how well i did, instead of getting dropped off the back of the group like what has been happening all season. i was up front with the strong ladies!!! WOW!!!
sara from vancouver, canada29 July 2008i cannot go through a day without my nuun!
tracy from seattle28 July 2008you guys are awesome! thanks for keeping us hydrated and our water bottles clean!
blake from seattle28 July 2008on the kona, think it's really good. got hooked on flat coke doing ironman so kona nuun is just the thing. good work.
peter from the us of a28 July 2008hey nuun! i am tim on the voodoo cycles mountain bike team that you sponsored. first of all, thanks a million for the product! i absolutely love it. i have been using nuun everyday practically since i got it. training and racing! i just got home last week from italy and vermont where i competed in the MTB world championships for the U23 USA national team and had a blast. i took a two tubes of each flavor over seas since i was gone for a month and a half and i knew everyone would want to try it out. everyone was stoked on it and my italian friend who races for the merida pro team wants to buy some - i showed him your site! the stuff really works and it tastes great! when i go on super long 5,6,7 hour rides i just keep a tube in my back pocket, its awesome.
tim from flagstaff28 July 2008i'm a huge fan of your original nuun products, so i was looking forward to trying the new ones. the orange giner nuun is great. btw, i found nuun at the marine corps marathon expo in 2006 and started using it the following spring. my favorite use for it has been multi-day bike touring, when i need more than just water, but dealing with powdered drinks is impossible on the side of the road.
marine man ken25 July 2008what a great product! i've been using a while now in training and think it's great.
peter from the us of a24 July 2008your new flavors!!
cathi from somewhere, usa22 July 2008i just want to say as an avid runner, adventure racer, and cyclist i use nuun almost daily. nuun keeps me going in the worst heat and exhaustion. i used nuun every day for my 6 day running race in costa Rica in january. my favorite flavor is kona kola with orange ginger coming in a close second.
thea from north carolina21 July 2008nuun rocks. what else needs to be said?
parker from somewhere, usa21 July 2008nuun so far has been a great success and we are starting to run out of nuun from our first import! i am passionate for rock climbing and now i am keeping my nuun almost in a safe box!
macarena from chile17 July 2008i just was introduced to your product in montana at primal quest. I am a runner/rower and coach in both areas. i was on a support team for PQ, so didn't take too many samples as i thought they were for the teams. however, while we were down in montana, i could not get over how dehydrated i felt. one of our team members gave me a lemon lime nuun tablet to try, and it was awesome.
mairin from ontario17 July 2008nuun is awesome! i think its the best drink. i prefer to have it over any other drink on the market. i use to be a BIG gatorade fan, but nuun has no calories and not as sweet. my favorite flavor is orange ginger. i use it on training/workout days after running, cycling or swimming. or any other time i need to hydrate, especially when i'm on an airplane which is pretty frequently. i also really like the uhydration product. however, i probably spend too much money on this stuff, but its great and cant help myself!
cisco from viva las vegas16 July 2008tried your product today LOVED IT!
steven from TX16 July 2008i wanted to drop a quick note, my wife and i just tried nuun for the first time about a week ago. (i know...i own a tri shop and havent even tried it) i guess we just get so accustomed to using what we are used to and forget to try new things. anyway, we loved it! we have been using it since and cant believe we have only just tried it! just wanted to give you guys a little pat on the back, great product!
cameron from tri buys15 July 2008i know that i say this every time, but i just want to thank you guys for making such a great product. nuun keeps me drinking and hydrated throughout all of my events. i never seem to grow tired of the light, clean flavors and definitely seem to drink more than i would it it were just straight water. my co-worker drinks nuun daily (i turned him on to it and now he drinks two nalgene bottles a day in the office because he likes the flavor so much!)
greg from ketchum15 July 2008i was compelled to let you know how handy my nuun was on my trip. i brought a few different kinds of electrolyte supplements on the climb with me -- finishing all of them! the nuun had the easiest packaging (who can break open a packet full of powder at 45 degree slope?!?) and it was the ONLY one that dissolved in the cold water from the glacier that we used to fill our nalgenes. the others just sat in a clump at the bottom. i realized how important the nuun supplement was when i was up there and it helped out a lot. i would chose it again over GU powder and lyte n go. so...thanks nuun!!!
caitlin from san francisco14 July 2008love your stuff - thought i'd let you know about why i drink it- so last year I got sick, in mexico - and i had to have one of my kidneys out. now i have only one kidney, which medically is fine, you only need one kidney to live a healthy life. however - it's really important to stay hydrated to help the kidney out and not strain it by becoming dehydrated. so - i drink a lot of water anyway - im a runner and biker and generally in good shape, but the kidney needed more water than i could take in. i found your nuun after trying all the typical stomach aching, high-sodium, muscle cramping off-the-shelf sugar drinks sitting on a lonely shelf all by itself. i bought one tube, and after a week went in and bought all the tubes and keep buying cases from this local bike shop. i don't go anywhere without nuun. just thought itd be good to let you know that medically, people who have to stay hydrated would really benefit from your product. i know i have. maybe push your product into some of the medical clinics or pharmacys so people like me can do their body good, with nuun. or maybe you could sponsor my super kidney, on its own team - working to keep me alive. (just kidding) thanks for making such a great product, from me and my one super kidney. all the best and to your continued unmitigated success!
gretchen from oregon14 July 2008thanks for the support! orange ginger rocks!!!
justin from team patagonia08 July 2008i am running my 1st 1/2 marathon this year & have been struggling to swallow a very popular sports drink. i came across U natural hydration tablets. OMG! i can't believe there is no sugar. can't wait to see what other flavors nuun comes up with next!!!
lynn from chicago07 July 2008your product is GREAT! i have diabetes and it helps when i get too dehydrated or have a migraine. thank you!!
rhana, who ordered from our online store07 July 2008finally, someone made an electrolyte formula that works in the real world. no more spilled powder, tearing packages open or drinking stuff that tastes like sugar water. i do a lot of trail running, climbing, hiking, backpacking and adventure racing and i have tried all the other options out there to keep hydrated and my electrolyte levels up. 2 weeks ago i was doing the fullmoon in June 36hr adventure race and was doing the usual spilling of gatorade powder and having a sticky mustache trick in order to hydrate myself. at one point in the race when i had sticky red goop all down the front of my shirt i thought to myselfthere must be a better way to do this. the next day after the race had ended i was watching the primal quest race updates and I saw team DART-NUUN and could not figure out what the heck nuun stood for. i clicked and found what i had been missing out on. the next day i was down at the local running store and found that they carried nuun. i immediately bought some too try and have been using it for the past week and really like it. i went on a couple of bikes, runs and a good hike in the scorching heat and the whole time i felt well hydrated and did not at any time think i would bonk or need anything besides the nuun in my water bladder. the other 2 hikers i was with were not as lucky and even the dog kept collapsing in the shade of the trees or laying down in the creek at every chance he had (it was freakin hot, mid 90s). i felt great and did not have any of the usual cravings for salty foods that i usually get after a good hard hike. i just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that i will be letting everyone that i train with know about nuun (i might not tell people on the other teams though). thanks for making a product that addresses the problems of all the other products out there.
mike from heaven02 July 2008i am loving the orange ginger. first found some at REI. so gooood! tastes like orange crush, but much less sweet. my husband's favorite is the kona cola. he usually hates sports drinks, but the cola nuun tastes exactly like a coke (well, maybe a coke with ice melted in it!) he loves it!
anonymous from anonymous01 July 2008this is tony from last year's big ride pacific coast. i can't wait to try u and i'm still telling everyone about nuun! thanks!
tony from texas01 July 2008this nice rep with an accent dropped some nuun and natural hydration off in our store for us to try. he was here in boulder for a conference. we just wanted to say thank you so much, we love both of those products. we are all runners and cyclists here in the store, and have found that they were both great for our daily workouts. i have now switched to drinking nuun daily, the tri-berry is my favorite, and a HUGE help after daily long miles. thank you so much for thinking of us. we really enjoyed it!
jen from boulder30 June 2008your product ROCKS!!! i have had a sponsorship with nuun through sponsorhouse.com for a little while now and have used nuun on all of my training rides. i love the taste and the ease on the stomach. i rode 100 miles the other day and brought nuun along for the ride, no other sports drink allows for that ease in poratability and i definetly dont want to be drinking gatorade from the 7-11 i had to stop at to refuel. so THANK YOU! it is really helping my training/racing.
hunter not at the virginia 7-1130 June 2008so just spreading the good hydration... i'm a triathlete turned ultra trial runner and regularly use and love nuun. i have two dogs, and we have a dog walker come a couple of times a week to take them on a nice walk. well we live in texas and i think we all know how hot it gets in texas in the summer! so my dog walker one day seems hot and drained from being out in the texas sun walking all day. so i ask her if she is hydrating to which she replies "oh yes i'm drinking gatorade but don't really like it". well i tell her oh no you should be using nuun and i proceed to tell her about the wonderful benefits of nuun, give her a tube of her own to try and ta da...of course she loves it and is a regular nuun consumer! now i've even paid her in nuun tablets, ha!
deb in texas28 June 2008i absolutely love nuun. great taste with all the electrolytes you need. it is portable, balanced, refreshing, and simple. i hate gatorade. i was at ironman, and they only offer gatorade. i took a gatorade bottle, dumped out the gatorade, filled it with water, and added a tri-berry nuun tablet.
justin from spokane25 June 2008hi everyone, i just wanted to thank you so much for helping keeping me hydrated while I was at boot camp. as you might guess the activities there are quite strenuous physically. but I always had my nuun ready to go. having nuun with me on the crucible was essential. not a few recruits were suffering from hyponatremia but i knew the importance of having stable electrolytes and i kept on going even when the temperature was +100 and black flag. the DI's push drinking at least 12-14 canteens on a normal day but some recruits were doing 16-20 during the Crucible. i did 8 at most and 4 of them were enhanced with nuun. thank you so much.
dennis at parris island23 June 2008i am in love! seriously! it was recommended that I try your product by suzanne in sporteve. i am an experienced triathlete and i had complained about all the calories in my hydration drink and how it had actually caused me to gain some weight my last season. she showed me your product and i was hesitant. i bought one tube and thought well, if it messes up my stomach, i will not have put too much money out. i had a short sprint race last weekend and came across your product still in my bag from the store. i thought, well i better try this after my race during my next training ride. i did!!! wednesday, then thursday, then yesterday and today. i cannot get over how light but effective your product is. i am on my way to by a case at REI today and will be urging my training partners to switch to your product. thanks so much!!!
gretchen from culver city22 June 2008we love your product. i like the fact that you don't have that sugarfree aftertaste that some products have. great stuff; not too sweet; easy going down; and seems to do the trick as far as hydrating our bodies.
kim from rutland, VT16 June 2008after stumbling across nuun we have quickly become fans. zena loves the fact that there are no calories, i have no idea what she's on about, but love the taste. the australian climate isn't the easiest on the body, and we really appreciate the re-hydration ability of nuun, and the convenience of the tablets goes without saying - no more messy dramas mid race when you open your pack to refill the camelbak. have been using nuun for a number of races now, from sprints up to 5 dayers, and the hydration difference is remarkable. thanks for a great product, it's very quickly becoming a winner when other teams see just how easy and effective it is.
zena & jeremy from down under15 June 2008this may sound like a channel 900 early morning advert, but i find this stuff fantastic. i thought my fatigue from training was lack of glucose, but after trying nuun i realised my muscles were losing contraction power due to electrolyte depletion. as i sweat incredibly heavy i can see a huge performance gain with nuun electrolyte replacement. all that muscle physiology is true. this stuff tastes quite nice!
oliver from overseas13 June 2008used nuun this year for training. first time i tried nuun. preparing for the wisconsin horribly hilly hundred. yesterday, it hit about 90 with the humidity at 75% at least. this was the first day of training with real heat. used nuun and breezed through the training. i felt great, the stuff is absorbed so quickly that i could literally guzzle a pint of nuun dissolved in my water bottle and it was empyting from my stomach in 10 minutes. i felt great, no leg cramping, and enjoyed all 90 miles. this stuff works and it is going to be my choice for all my cylcing and triathlon events including my ironman events. keep up the good work...
jonathan from WI12 June 2008hi nuun team, i discovered nuun through watching online updates of various races. when i decided to find out exactly what nuun was, i got really excited, as i had gastric bypass surgery in 2004 and am unable to tolerate sugary electrolyte replacement drinks. what nuun has done for me, is allow me, the girl who used to weigh 400 pounds, to become a quasi-athlete. i started out participating in orienteering meets and wasn't ever quite happy enough with my placement in the finish. i decided i was the one holding our team back, as the people i was racing with were in better shape than i was, and decided that i needed to start trail running. because i bonk fairly quickly, i carry the nuun even on a training run. nuun has worked amazingly well for me and i'm currently in the best shape of my life (at about 145 pounds). i'm (slowly, cuz i'm a big chicken) branching out into cycling, and my bike proudly sports my nuun water bottles. thank you SO much for creating nuun. it has, honestly, allowed me to do things i never - ever - pictured myself doing. powered by nuun, and, umm...peanut butter banana sandwiches...
angie from CA12 June 2008set out with some tri-berry nuun sunday morning, first time trying it. i was using other sports drinks but they were too sugary, gummed up in my throat after a few hours and gave me GI issues. i set out on a 60 mile ride, it was 85 degrees at 6 am and pushing 95 degrees when i got home 3 hours later. all i can say is THANK YOU. this stuff is fantastic!!! i never got that syrupy-in-the-back-of-the-throat feeling, legs stayed fresh, i was hydrated because this stuff tastes incredible, you want to keep drinking it!! i drank 2 h2o bottles and 2 bottes with nuun tabs, a few gels and never once did my stomach give me issues. i feel this will be the saving grace for my first half ironman providence in july. thank you!!
matt from MN02 June 2008hi, firstly, i would like to congratulate you on an excellent, easy to use product that i now feel is an indispensable piece of equipment for any race having just competed in and WON my first ever multi-day running event to raise money for children's cancer charity. thought i would write to you to share my experiences with your product. being a scotsman living in england, UK running great distances requires keeping an eye on your hydration but to then undertake a 5 day, 5 stage, 150 km race in the unfamiliar hot and humid climate of guadeloupe in the caribbean means a whole new water/electrolyte/energy balance must be developed. thanks to nuun and it's simple, easy to use instructions that require no mixing and can be done whilst running i managed to stay one step ahead of my competitors stealing valuable seconds as they stopped to mix electrolyte and salt drinks. please continue to produce a great product, i wouldn't have made it off the start line without you.
bryan from the UK01 June 2008i sweat a lot when performing various physical activities that range from mountain biking to soccer but i always felt really drained the following day. i tried your product about 2.5 months ago, after using nuun i felt a tremendous difference. i was not as drained the following day and was able to do other activities. other things i like about your product are that it does not make feel jittery, nervous or bloated. it is a straightforward product that feels good. thank you.
jose from la30 May 2008you will not find my name at the top of any pro sports charts, nor am i out there breaking any speed records, but my friends and i have been solid recreational athletes biking and running in local races for 20 years. recently i was out riding with my friend cathy and i was complaining that my gatorade concoction always left my mouth feeling sticky. cathy gave me a tube of the nuun tablets to try. now my friend christina and I are both hooked! it's great to get the electrolytes we need for long rides without the calories and the sticky feeling that sports drinks leave you with. thanks to cathy and nuun for taking care of hydration needs in a tasty way!
robin from NM30 May 2008just wanted to take a minute to thank you for continuing to make such a great product. i just got back from st. croix 70.3 and it was by far the hottest, most brutal race i have ever done. the one thing i did not have to worry about was my hydration. even when it got up in the 90's with very high humidity, i was good to go. on the bike i just grabbed water from the aid stations, dropped a nuun tab in my aerodrink and filled it up. then for the run, i used my nathan bottle prefilled with tri-berry nuun so all i needed from the aid stations was ice. nuun helped me to a 70.3 world championship slot and i know it will get me to a kona qualifying time at im moo this september.
coach dan from savannah28 May 2008nuun is with me whether i am cycling, running, or during my life as an orchestral musician. i use nuun during my performances as a tasty drink and to keep the body's fluids balanced. nuun is the perfect drink over plain water during long engagements such as eight weeks of performances with mannheim steamroller.
michael from joplin26 May 2008hello nuun team! my 14 year old son has been working towards his goal of winning a prime lap in the cat 4/5 race, and last thursday his hard work paid off. he wanted and won the first prime, which was a nuun water bottle and nuun tablets - in his favorite lemon lime flavor no less! the groovy nuun bottle is now his official lucky water bottle. nuun tablets are an absolute necessity in our household. they are our preferred electrolyte replacement - they taste great - not too sweet - and are really portable. my 17 year old will be packing many a tube of nuun to share with his friends this weekend at an outdoor concert! thanks again for creating such a great product that works so well.
kelly from seattle22 May 2008hi, last summer i completed the gobi march which is a 250 KM endurace foot race in western china located within the gobi desert. the first day i started out just fine, with a regular type sports drink. little to my knowledge at the time, that was a big mistake. i bonked hard at mile 12. then came along another competitor from the UK. he handed me a tube of nuun. from then on it was love at first sip. within about 45 min i was back up and running, and for the rest of the race i used your product. what a life saver. it is the only product on the market i try to push to all my friends. i am currently a Marine serving in Iraq and I am using it out here when i can get it, for my training for some up and coming ultra marathons. you all are awesome!!!!
paul in the desert21 May 2008well nuun solved my cramp problem, i was struggling with cramps in my calves or quads around three hours into my adventure races, normally when swapping between disciplines (running/biking). and then I tried nuun, popping one in my pre-race drink, my pack-bladder and then one for post-race and not a case of cramps at all, just tired limbs instead. previously my cramps had been so bad i struggled to make it through the races and on one occasion had even been forced to quit a race half way through, i was worried i wouldn't be able to continue to compete until nuun came to the rescue. definitely an easy to use system to keep hydrated and get those all important salts, will continue to use, especially when i complete in the UK microsoft challenge in stirling later this summer.
nigel from the UK13 May 2008hi - i want to be able to tell the world about nuun.
rebecca from NJ30 April 2008i raced a criterium at volunteer park on saturday and handed out some nuun while talking it up. a couple of racers were familiar with the product and those that weren't were very interested. i normally have a cramping problem and did not experience it during this this race. first race i have done since switching my hydratrion to nuun. i rode for 4 hours on sunday and again, no cramping issue. i love the stuff.
tim from montana14 April 2008hey guys - i just returned home from the himalayas, rock climbing in thailand, and indonesia. i am the bone marrow transplant survivor who used NUUN on my recovery and on my trip. i just wanted to say "thank you". the trip was a success and i was very happy to find that my body did well at altitude, maybe even better than before transplant. for me, NUUN is the easiest rehydration formula to use. it is light weight, has none of the mess that powders have, none of the high sugur content, is fast to prepare, and tastes great. NUUN was great in my recovery from a bone marrow transplant and helped me return to the himalayas as a professional mountain guide. in both of these arenas my life depended on staying hydrated and i know that NUUN really works as I was able to see my kidney function (creatinine) stay in the normal range during high doses of meds that should have shot my levels into the dangerously high range. during a climb of kyazo ri a 20420 peak in nepal, my body stayed hydrated and healthy. i trust NUUN with my life
matt from seattle09 April 2008hi - i just returned from the Marathon Des Sables last night and wanted to let you know that NUUN worked incredible for me. i finished the MDS placing 10th in the women's division and 171st overall. i had an incredible week of running and not once had any hydration issues. the MDS doctors were telling the runners to use up to 6 salt tablets per 1.5 liters of water besides what they were using as a hydration product because of the heat. i used none of the salt tablets as i felt it was not needed with the NUUN. hence i had an incredible performance while others were struggling around me with dehydration and stomach issues. once again NUUN outperformed itself again for me. i cannot say enough about the product.
running sue09 April 2008i was talking to 'mosko' yesterday and he mentioned that the company you're working for makes some electrolyte tablets (a la airborne) that both he and i put to good use in nepal this summer. mosko came down with the crazy sh*ts heading over an 18,000 foot pass and i'm convinced your stuff was the only thing that got him up and over - he couldn't keep solids in him for very long. the sherpas were also duly impressed, saying they had never seen anyone in his condition make it over the pass... love your product!
friend of alex mosko and eric from BCG02 April 2008i just got back from oceanside and doing ironman cali 70.3 where i won my age group and was the 6th amateur overall. it was a tough day with choppy water and wind and some really tough guys there this year fighting for the one kona slot which i won. now the real work begins. the nuun worked awesome on the bike and run. the bike was pretty windy as well as there was a headwind from mile 35 back home but i ran solid with the top time in my age group.
jeff, from somewhere!31 March 2008i have found this one of the best products that i have used. it is easy to carry, not messy like powders and works a treat. keep up the good work.
sue, from australia30 March 2008thanks, team nuun! i've been a fan of nuun for quite sometime, since one of my employees at roadrunner who competes cyclocross turned me on...and i've never looked back. it beats any other hydration source on the market, whether i'm biking or kayaking, or just plain draggin' from a late night out.
angel from our native seattle28 March 2008here is my fantastic nuun experience: i was spending lots of time in the pool with my new swim club and began having trouble with my feet and calves cramping near the end of my early morning practices in the 136 meter pool here in vancouver. one time in particular, my calf cramped so severely that i was left gripping the side of the pool in severe pain. the lifeguard actually asked if i needed help out of the water. my calf muscle actually cramped so hard, it pulled itself! i was limping for a few days after while it healed. my coaches and training partners hypothesized that the cramping was probably due to an electrolyte deficiency exacerbated by an almost constant state of dehydration (no matter how much water I drank!). i wasn't really interested in having a high sugar sports drink at the pool edge so my good friend suggested I try these nuun electrolyte tablets she had discovered. and the results? DRAMATIC. i am now a happy, happy, virtually cramp-free swimaholic. i make sure i prepare before my workouts with a bit of nuun to get the electrolytes flowing. if i notice my foot or calf muscles itching to spasm, i find a couple sips of my nuun save the day (and a possible pool drowning). i have a constant stock of tubes in my cupboards, and a spare at work for my afternoon training, i am so happy i discovered your product- i look forward to my 2008 pro-triathlon season with my nuun electrolyte tablets. thanks for keeping me afloat!
rachel, vancouver bc21 March 2008i run ultramarathons. the tougher, the better. i am one of nine 5-time finishers of the grueling hellgate 100k race that takes place in the mountains of virginia, in the middle of december, starting at midnight. in the previous four years, this race has left me bruised, battered, with muscle soreness that cannot be described. well, in 2007 nuun was the official electrolyte replacement product for the hellgate 100k. i drank it the entire 14 hours that i was out there. the race went well, and i finished in my second best time. but the recovery is where i really noticed the difference. normally this race leaves me limping for days. but not this year. i was able to run just two days after the event. i had very little muscle soreness. and here's where the story gets better. my wife came down with a stomach flu that same weekend.she could not eat or drink anything for 24 hours. she said that the sports drinks that we had in the house were too sweet. so i talked her into trying some nuun. within hours she was feeling better, getting hydrated again, and on the mend. since my first exposure to nuun at the 2007 hellgate 100k, it has been my go-to product for electrolyte replacement. i will never again drink the sticky "sports drinks" that most races offer.
neal, roanoke, va21 March 2008nuun is the easiest rehydration formula to use. it is light weight, has none of the mess that powders have, none of the high sugur content, fast to prepare, and taste great. i used nuun in my recovery from a bone marrow transplant and upon my return to the himalayas as a professional mountain guide. in both of these arenas my life depended on staying hydrated. i know that nuun really works as i was able to see my kidney function (creatinine) stay in the normal range during high doses of meds that should have shot my levels into the dangerously high range. during a climb of kyazo ri a 20420 peak in nepal, my body stayed hydrated and healthy. i trust nuun with my life.
matt, seattle21 March 2008i was in my usual store, to get GU2O and they recommended that i try nuun...they gave me a sample tablet (triple-berry) and i tried it on a ride today... it was great. it's much less sweet (and GU2O isn't all that sweet, like the yucky gatorade-type stuff) and provided even more NA+ and K+. obviously, it's a whole bunch easier to carry on my bike rides...now, all i need is a tube of nuun in my bike jersey for the long rides, like the centuries, and a couple of water bottles.. where have you been all my (riding) life?!!
jon18 March 2008nuun is the easiest rehydration formula to use. it is light weight, has none of the mess that powders have, none of the high sugar content, fast to prepare, and taste great. i used nuun in my recovery from a bone marrow transplant and upon my return to the himalayas as a professional mountain guide. in both of these arenas my life depended on staying hydrated. i know that nuun really works as i was able to see my kidney function (creatinine) stay in the normal range during high doses of meds that should have shot my levels into the dangerously high range. during a climb of kyazo ri a 20420 peak in nepal, my body stayed hydrated and healthy. i trust nuun with my life.
matt, seattle14 March 2008i made a switch this past summer to a new hydration drink. nuun. after two bad hydration experiences that caused extreme cramping during the Fat Tire Festival in 2003 and 2004, i needed to find a solution. i purchased a beautiful pre-owned cannondale road bike in June of 2007 and the miles added up fast. nuun made a difference immediately. my time in the saddle without cramps seemingly doubled. i could spin faster and push myself further than i could before using nuun and i logged more road miles in 2007 than i ever did before. positives: the flavor is not overwhelming. nuun dissolves completely and does not have a gritty taste. the tube and tablets pack easily in your jersey for replenishment along the trail. also works well to cure weekend hangovers
step outside05 March 2008wanted to let you know that we have a new sponsor on board this year. nuun is going to be our hydration sponsor for 2008 and hopefully well beyond. i have been a huge supporter of this product from the moment i first tried it. nuun has quickly gained a ton of market share and there is good reason for it. their product kicks butt, is easy to use, extremely portable, and they have the "subtle" taste that other sports drinks just can't seem to figure out.
rod05 March 2008we tried it in our running group and absolutely love it. there are a few of us that really sweat like monsters and have had problems with muscle cramps, stomach upset extreme fatique (the bonk), etc. after 14 miles this weekend, we felt much better using nuun. we are telling everyone!
diane from new york07 February 2008i kept stitching up about 2K into the run, every time. i narrowed down the culprit, high fructose syrup!! nasty stuff. with as much water as i drink, it gets pretty blah. then i met nuun! what a product. perfect flavor, and the kola offers just the right amount of caffeine. thanks nuun, you are the only thing in my water bottles.
scott, utah30 January 2008nuun rules!!! i kept stitching up about 2K into the run, every time. i narrowed down the culprit, high fructose syrup!! nasty stuff. with as much water as i drink, it gets pretty blah. then i met nuun! what a product. perfect flavor, and the kola offers just the right amount of caffiene. thanks nuun, you are the only thing in my water bottles.
scott, utah30 January 2008we've just added to our stock nuun active hydration tablets. these are electrolyte tablets which hydrate you better than water. rather than being in the usual powder form which flies all over the place when you get it out of the bag on a windy hill (not to mention being stopped at every airport you go through for carrying white powder), it comes in a fast acting tablet which creates a still drink. it also tastes pretty good and comes in a range of flavours - if you're out fell running or even walking this is a practical solution which seems far better than the usual sugary energy drinks.
sam, uk22 January 2008i think that eliminating empty liquid calories will be a huge aid in my little quest that i have become obsessed with. and in the process i will kick that nasty soda habit. my kona cola flavoured nuun is mighty close in taste and texture. and instead of sugar i get electrolytes!
adam, ut20 January 2008i think that eliminating empty liquid calories will be a huge aid in my little quest that i have become obsessed with. and in the process i will kick that nasty soda habit. my kona cola flavoured nuun is mighty close in taste and texture. and instead of sugar i get electrolytes!
adam, ut20 January 2008i've been trying this product for about a month now, and we've decided to stock it at the shop (allegro cyclery). i've found them particularly helpful for staying hydrated on rides in colder weather. the flavour keeps you sipping on your bottle, as opposed to ignoring your bottle of plain, cold water. on longer rides in any season, put the whole sealed tube in your jersey pocket or saddle bag. since you sweat more than plain water, you have to put those minerals back in your system!
soren, allegro cyclery in walla walla, wa05 January 2008i got my nuun supplies today and am enjoying the refreshing zing of the tri-berry. this stuff isn't just great on the run, its great at home to give water a little excitement. as i try to get into peak shape nuun is sure to help me stay on track. thanks nuun!
john, nh02 January 2008as re-hydration products go, this one rocks and we're not alone in thinking this! you might question the need for re-hydration at this time of year but trust us - you'll need them. hangovers are caused by the brain de-hydrating and because nuun is seriously good at getting fluids back into your system it's also an excellent 'morning after' recovery aid. not, of course, that we are advocating excessive alcohol consumption but just making sure that if you do overdo it there's something on standby.
tri 24 7 tri247.com23 December 2007just wanted to thank you for getting into the bmx world. living and training in the rocky mountains in the winter makes it really hard to stay hydrated cause it's so dry up here, but now that i have nuun i have gone from riding 6 miles a day to 15 miles a day just because i stay hydrated....that's a big jump in miles per day! so thanks again! nuun is some good stuff!
micheal, colorado19 December 2007a few months ago i was told about a product for hydration that was wonderful...so i hit the web and found the website and ordered a tube of nuun. these tablets are so easy to use...seriously, you just drop one tablet in 16 ounces of water and let dissolve. how simple is that? previously, i had to measure and mix...the product i had been using had a tendency to be a bit gritty, too. nuun is lovely...very refreshing. and no sugar!
michelle17 December 2007our team would like to say thank you to nuun for sponsoring our us for 2008. as the leader in fluid electrolyte replacement, we don't have anything else in our bottles, ever. we use nuun for pretty much every workout we do!
golite ar team15 December 2007i've been having problems taking in electrolytes, dissatisfied with the various electrolyte pills out on the market which have started irritating my stomach. the nuun tablets work great and make my water more like a fizzy flavored soda so i can take in electrolytes gradually.
jonathan, ca13 December 2007thanks for helping me get hellgate finish #5. this years hellgate did not leave me as sore and tired as past years have. i did drink nuun and water only this year, and i had no stomach problems at all. i was able to eat all day. last year i had trouble eating or drinking early in the race. i'm sticking with nuun from now on!
neal02 December 2007thank you for adding me to your team. i'm stoked to be a part of nuun....and i'm glad that you have dipped into the whitewater kayaking market. i'm the head of the industries leading extreme whitewater kayaking site called huckin huge. (www.huckinhuge.com) thanks again!
cody30 November 2007i don't normally care about products, but i love this stuff.
elizabeth, wa27 November 2007nab some nuun active hydration tabs for optimal hydration wherever you are.
tri-talk.com24 November 2007instead of swallowing salt tablets every hour, i gave nuun a shot yesterday, after reading about it on a couple of peoples' blogs. tasted great and seemed to work really well. i'm definitely going to stick with it.
andrew, nuun rookie21 November 2007the nuun tabs are easy to tuck into a purse or bag, so i can always have them available. they mix easily and taste great. i like that they have no calories, so don't feel that i have overdone the sugar.
cyclemom, il21 November 2007i use the nuun for all activities. nuun tastes good and has a light fiz. i find that i am reaching for the nuun-water more often when it tastes good than i would if it were just water. so i do find that i stay more adequately hydrated when using this product simply because i'm drinking more. i drop them in my platypus bladder - and amazingly, nuun leaves no residue or lingering taste in the bladder or hose.
minn, mn21 November 2007i'm so glad rei finally started carrying these drink tabs--i initially bought straight from the company after reading about them in a magazine. they all taste good, mix easily, travel very well in their tube, and do what they advertise--hydrate and replace electrolytes with nearly no carbs.
gearnut, wa dc20 November 2007thanks for your great support on our colorado relay. our runners loved nuun and we do too. nuun is definitely at the top of our list of drink products. i'll be back in touch so we can talk about next year...!
peter, co19 November 2007to celebrate my 60th birthday, my 20 year old twin sons and i planned to do a long backpack trip this summer, which included a hike to mt. whitney. starting in march, i purchased and we taste-tested 12 different sports hydration products, some that were mixed in water, and some eaten. nuun tablets came in at the top, in flavor, salts and minerals provided, and lowest in weight. and believe me, on a 68 mile backpack with 10,000 feet gain and loss, weight was a huge consideration. nuun helped us make it through 9 long days, and kept us from "hitting the wall." the ease of use was great--2 tablets in our nalgene bottles and we were ready to hit the trail. since our backpack trip, my husband, sons, and i have been using the nuun tablets in our bike water bottles when we cruise around the county on our recumbent bicycles. the flavor's refreshing, unlike some other sports drinks i could mention that leave my mouth feeling like i've been sucking on a lollipop all day. thanks for making a great product!
judi, wa17 November 2007i used to just drink bottled water every day to re-hydrate before and after training. then i found nuun at the local tri shop and thought i would give a tube a chance. that one bottle quickly turned into five, with at least one in every bag i take with me to train, and one in my car. the tubes compact size is a perfect fit everywhere i might stash it. whether after a hot run in the summer, or during a long bike ride, it's quick, convenient and effective. recently i have found it to be the perfect pool side hydration, exactly what i need in between sets. best of all it's airtight tube fits neatly in my swim bag and since water is anywhere you find it so is my nuun. i'm hooked...
noel13 November 2007nuun has taken me from 4 days in the grand canyon to the top of mt. elbert, the 2nd tallest peak in the lower 48 this summer. the contrast from 118 degrees fahrenheit in the canyon in may to 43 degrees fahrenheit at the peak in august made hydrating a necessity. nuun definitely paid for itself many times over. i love the attitude of everyone at nuun and i like the product.
jim06 November 2007nuun is an amazing product! as an endurance athlete it is crucial that you have the proper balance of nutrition and electrolytes in order to train and race your best. nuun allows you to maintain your levels, the flavors taste great and with no added sugar, you don't have to worry about the "sugar high" that you may encounter with competitor's products. i only race and train with nuun, it is the best product out there.
corey04 November 2007i am a paramedic, a swat medic and i also ride motorcross with my 2 sons on days off. when i first tried nuun i was amazed at the feeling i had while riding. it is also great for my line of work! i was on a call out with the bomb squad and i gave nuun to the bomb techs and they loved it. they want to get some to put on the bomb trailer. nuun is a hit!
shane, tn02 November 2007here's a better way to get hydrated, wherever you are: just drop a nuun hydration tablet in your water bottle and get complex sugar-free electrolyte goodness that recharges your salts, but is more refreshing and efficiently absorbed than water or sports drinks. if you are tired of those over sweetened energy drinks, give nuun a taste and you will become a daily user!
scott31 October 2007as an ultra cyclist, i can tell you that optimal hydration is more than a concern, it is a necessity. without keeping electrolyte balance, a rider won't be able to continue another hour, much less another 40. from my perspective, your products are a God send: easily prepared, extremely dependable hydration and thoroughly enjoyable tastes. i can tell you that i am very happy to put sugar and high-fructose corn syrup in the rear view mirror permanently.
mike, ca29 October 2007until the next race, i will keep training and keep drinking nuun. its so easy to take everywhere! it started out a training and racing tool, but has quickly become a permanent fixture. i wont go anywhere without it!
liz27 October 2007i just completed the amgen california coast classic bike ride from san francisco to los angeles. this ride is a fundraiser for the arthritis foundation. i rode 520 miles in eight days to mark my tenth year of living with rheumatoid arthritis and i did it powered by kona cola nuun! thanks for making such a great product. nuun tastes great, works great and it's easy to carry. you can't beat that with a stick.
deb, ca25 October 2007when you are doing stunts like climbing carstensz piramit in one of the most remote areas of the world, there is a great confidence in having nuun to count on for the right hydration!
asgeir, iceland23 October 2007stay hydrated, use nuun! drinking water isn't enough, did you know that you also need to replace electrolytes after exercising?
jason, seattle wa22 October 2007nuun was the great success of our ascent up one of the highest peaks in the world, changabang in india, with all of us using it all the time. the guys thought it was awesome, and there was always a scramble to make sure you had your nuun - i don't think we drank water without it! it was great to help with acclimatisation when hydration is really critical, and i used it after a bout of delhi-belly to rehydrate.
brian, new zealand20 October 2007nuun electrolyte tablets were my supplement of choice to stay optimally hydrated during race week for ironman kona. i flew through these bottles while in hawaii, and kept my sodium levels topped off for the race!
ben, at ironman hawaii18 October 2007i would just like to say that of all the hydration products that i have used during my various races, nuun is the best! thank you and keep up the good work!
adam, in16 October 2007simply put, the label on a tube of nuun says it all, "active hydration". nuun contains the sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. these are all things an active body is going to need. sodium and potassium are supplied for obvious reasons, athletes sweat these directly out of their systems. what goes out, must come back in or there will be problems. it's a pretty simple equation.
garuch, pedal pushers14 October 2007the packaging is great for the firefighters. nuun is so convenient and easy to carry. everybody likes the taste too! we are chewing them up like sweet tarts!
rebecca, or12 October 2007the discovery of these very cool and decent tasting electrolyte tablets that help replace the electrolytes that i seem to lose faster than most have been helpful for me during my marathons. i noticed after this last marathon (chicago) that i was way better hydrated and much less salty. i swear by this stuff!
sean, 2nd runner up in the chicago marathon!10 October 2007i used nuun yesterday during the st. george marathon and i am madly in love with your product! nuun helped me qualify for the olympic trials in november.
sean, future olympic hopeful, wa08 October 2007i am an avid bike rider. one problem that has always plagued me are muscle cramps in my legs following a ride. using nuun for the first time on the alaw's big ride pacific coast, i was very pleasantly surprised to find, for maybe the first time ever, no leg cramps! i ran out of tablets a few days before the finish. the first day without nuun, cramped up again! i ended up borrowing enough to make it to san francisco and again, no problems. so, a very sincere thank you for an excellent product.
art, avid cyclist, wa04 October 2007in 2004 i was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow dissorder called aplastic anemia. full body radiation, 14 rounds of chemo, a bone marrow transplant and 3 years later i have survived and will be heading back to the himalayas to climb and guide on october 13. since then i have used nuun to help with my recovery as my creatinine (liver function) was constantly dangerously high due to transplant and medications i was taking at the time. the use of nuun actually helped keep my liver function at a safe level by hydrating, as my body healed. i will be taking nuun on this upcoming expedition to the himalayas! thank you
matt, guide & bone marrow transplant survivor02 October 2007this stuff is great! it is truly the 1st product that i've used that has made such an obvious difference! i am down to 2 tubes! please send more!
annette, member of the montrail ultrarunning team, nc30 September 2007whether you're visiting the pyramids in guatemala or egypt, it's going to be hot. walking around the jungle or desert and climbing ruins is hard work and requires lots of water, but water doesn't replace lost nutrients, and good luck finding sport drinks in the "third world". nuun comes to the rescue!
matt, world traveler26 September 2007it was another solid stomach run with nuun... doing the trick all day with some nibbling off the aid station tables!
greg, physical therapist & nuun sponsored athlete24 September 2007thank you for supplying us with nuun on the american lung association's pacific coast ride. your product is a fantastic alternative to gatoraide.
susan, wa american lung association22 September 2007i've been a nuun fan since back when it was only available in lemon-lime. the kona-cola has that extra caffeine kick for early morning sessions, while the citrus-fruit combines great with the flavor of my carbohydrate supplement. i stay well hydrated before, during and after workouts thanks to the subtle flavors and slight bublicious goodness that makes me want to keep drinking.
juan, wa21 September 2007i am a professional mountain guide and this summer i tried nuun for the first time on rainier... i loved it! not only for myself but for my clients. you see, climbing rainier in just a few days is one of the hardest endurance events. after every climb most folks are utterly exhausted, sometimes to the point of getting dangerous. after one climb i passed out the nuun tabs like candy and it had a profound impact. i will surely use your product on my future climbs worldwide.
jeffrey, senior guide at mt rainier, wa20 September 2007as a first year triathlete there's a lot that can overwhelm you, between equipment, training and nutrition, there are a number of variables. thankfully nuun helped answer some questions on the nutrition side of things. when i couldn't stomach sports drinks anymore because of the sugar content, i was able to turn to nuun. i could easily grab a water bottle from the aid station drop in a nuun tablet, and get my fluids and electrolytes without the sugar and sweetness. the clean taste of nuun provided a great change of pace. i finished my first half ironman strong thanks in part to nuun.
matt, ny19 September 2007wow, what a relief! little effervescent tablets you just drop in your water bottle with a light, refreshing taste and very little sweetness. the perfect chaser for your energy bar or gel (which will take care of the carbos you need to replace). i found myself drinking more! the tube fits easily into a seat bag, so if you have access to water, you have your electrolyte replacement on board. no more sticky sweet drinks, messy bags of mix, or expensive little individual serving packets. p.s. i'm riding about 2 mph faster this season
susan, women's adventure blog18 September 2007instead of swallowing salt tablets every hour, i gave nuun a shot yesterday, after reading about it. it tasted great and seemed to work really well. i'm definitely going to stick with it. just three more hard weeks of training, then it's taper time....yeah baby!
andrew, future ironman florida competitor17 September 2007i am currently the head coach for the hawaii youth triathlon series and club, as well as starting a group here in austin, texas. currently my wife, daughter and i use your product and encourage my other athletes to use your product instead of some of the high carbohydrate and sugar containing products currently on the market. nuun is a product that can be used anywhere by just adding it to water versus some of the other products that require more work. my daughter amber competed at ironkids this last weekend where she finished 1st in her age group and is also ranked 10th in the nation as a youth elite triathlete! thanks again!
boris & amber, hi16 September 2007in the past i used salt tablets and drank gatorade - that did not work. this year (and in all training) i finally found something that works 100% of the time. nuun! nuun gave me something so important. it gave me the ability to do an ironman and finish in good health. this stuff is the best! i was able to drink my way around the 112 miles and feel almost 100%. nuun is the best, as after about 4 or 5 hours it was impossible for me to swallow salt tabs. i want to send a huge shout out to the team at nuun for the ultimate ironman product!
stu at ironman wisconsin14 September 2007i am easily affected by the heat and dehydration. so, on my "long" ride, i still need to have something other than just water if i don't want to get splitting headaches after the ride. i need electrolytes, nuun provides those electrolytes with out all the sticky, sugary, gooey "goodness" that we are used to. the taste is faint and barely noticeable, which is exactly what i was looking for. i have avoided the affects of dehydration, and did not suffer headaches later in the day as i usually would! when i realized my tube only had one tablet left, i scrambled to find a local dealer so i could buy another tube before my saturday ride!
lonnie, 2 time ironman, and lawyer13 September 2007thank you! i am currently in week 13 of an 18-week training program for the columbus marathon, my first. i use nuun to hydrate before and after runs, and also use it at the office when my nine- and ten-mile midweek runs have left me feeling sluggish. (ok, so i don't get enough sleep.) i can't believe i will have to put up with 26.2 miles of gatorade endurance formula, which turns my stomach and leaves me feeling nauseated and crampy. i anxiously await the day when race directors will wake up and realize that "the other stuff" would be put to much better use as antifreeze. i love your product.
christy12 September 2007nuun makes water a treat and drinking plenty of it is never a problem. nuun is always with me, for my 10 mile run or 400 mile race across america. nuun is with me for the long haul...i always carry nuun to keep my muscles firing.
rocky, 2006 iditarod trail extreme winner & nuun sponsored athlete11 September 2007i used to get migraines after almost every hockey tournament, finally attributed it to dehydration!! since i have been adding nuun to my water bottles on the bench, and drinking it between games, no more migraines!!!!! i love that it's not sticky, since water seems to go everywhere when you're trying to drink it through a facemask, and doesn't bog you down if you drink too much. i never used to like to drink during games, but now i don't mind, and i feel better for it!!
amanda, co08 September 2007i first tried your product at the advice of a friend i trust. my boyfriend and i love your lemon lime flavored tablets! they were great while we were training for our first half marathon and a wonderful additional to our general hydration practices. i sing the praises of your product to everyone i know who works out regularly.
karyn, ca06 September 2007i have just discovered nuun.......... brilliant, hydration without sugars & carbs. thanks!
neil06 September 2007i was physically diagnosed with an electrolyte imbalance by my doctor. he particularly stressed your product because of my low levels of sodium and potassium. he talked to me about avoiding carbohydrates in drinks because they interfere with my body's ability to quickly utilize sodium. i found only one store in my city that sells nuun and i have been buying it ever since. thank you for all of your research in developing this product. it has really changed my ability to exercise at an optimal level and in return has changed my life.
scott, fl05 September 2007my girlfriend turned me on to nuun about 6 months ago. we finally used up the supply she had so we HAD to get some more! we use it during and after just about every workout. it's the only thing i've found that doesn't make me more thirsty after drinking it like other drinks (ie gatorade, powerade, etc). not to mention it tastes great!
dan and keau, or04 September 2007big fan of nuun. awesome product. thanks!
john03 September 2007i was an exhibitor at outdoor retailer and a rep from your company was handing out samples of your product and now i am hooked!
brent, ca02 September 2007i have decided to get back in to mountian biking after a 4 year break due to open heart surgery (at age 27). it's been 10 months since i started back up, i have done some longer rides, and hit that wall halfway through. 3 weeks ago 1 did an 18 mile ride and felt really good using some other energy stuff. but at mile 15 i cramped up so bad that i had to sit and wait it out for 20 minutes every 1/4 mile or so...not a fun end to a great ride. the other guys i ride with are in way better shape than i am and they are usually a few minutes ahead of me....so i was way behind them getting back too the parking lot on this day. i heard about nuun from a friend that is training for a triathalon. i went to REI and bought 3 tubes of it. the very next weekend i filled my hydration pack with nuun. off i went to do another 15 mile or so ride at conyers horse park, the site of the 96 olympic mtb events, with the same guys. this course is KILLER....you never get much of a chance to rest with a longer downhill. each down hill is followed by a climb. this time things were better for me. not only did i not cramp, i was also able to keep up with the pack much better. they all commented on the difference form the week before to this week. i am sold on this stuff....it's not the typical snake oil you hear about...this is the real deal IT WORKS. so far i have only tried the kona cola....but i plan on getting through every one of the flavors. thanks!
nate, ga01 September 2007since i started taking nuun this past summer i have had the best tri-season of my life. i qualified for the usat age group national championship and also qualified for the world championship ironman 70.3. thank you for your product!
tim, wa31 August 2007i am very pleased with how nuun has performed in our store. nothing but great feedback from staff and customers, and the number of repeat customers is incredible. thanks for the great product!
jake, playmakers29 August 2007a friend of mine turned me on to the product and i first used it in practice last weekend on a pretty gnarly and very long road ride with quite a bit of climbing and in fairly intense heat. i was feeling pretty pukey at one point (i hadn't been drinking nuun yet that day), then felt remarkably better after drinking a quart. anyway, i continue to drink it consistently all and feel great. thanks!
ken, or28 August 2007i work for international mountain guides in ashford, wa0. i saw you product in the latest issue of inside outdoor and thought "hey, this is the perfect product for our guides!" why hasn't anyone thought of making a drink mix in tab form? and sugar free electrolytes? genious!
dan, wa26 August 2007thanks for a great product. living in austin, tx, maintaining proper hydration is always a challenge. my husband is an avid cyclist and has gotten tremendous results using nuun. thanks!
ann, tx22 August 2007i wanted to thank you for your great product. i have felt great all season and not once have i felt like i haven't had enough fluids, even after a day riding for 3 hours in the desert. i have been wearing my visor, t-shirt and showing off my water bottles with pride. informing all that i know about the greatness of your product. one of my friends couldn't believe that i wasn't taking in calories in my sports drink and was impressed with my results. hopefully so he will see the light.
brian- nuun sponsored athlete21 August 2007i'm on the montrail/nathan ultrarunning team and i absolutely LOVE that nuun is helping sponsor us and fuel us with such a smooth, easy to drink, electrolyte substitute. i'm enjoying hurl-free races, smoother energy and mood levels during the ultras (all a factor of my calories and electrolytes/fluids balance). i actually like each of the flavors thus far which is GREAT with my cranky gi tendencies...i look fwd to drinking when i have a nuun tab in the bottle. i appreciate that i can preload them in the nathan handheld pouches for easy access at aid stations... water up... and go.... and the tubes are easy to find in drop bags based on feel. nuun tablets have even helped convince my husband that hydration is good and necessary and makes you feel better ... and with it, he just ran his longest run ever (17.x mi) in prep for his first 50k ever... THANK YOU for taking solid, simple hydration to the racers, the trainers, and the masses! keep up the good work! and holler at us if we can spread the good word in a particular way!
kristen, or- montrail/nathan ultrarunning team15 August 2007just wanted to say thanks for a great product. while working for the national park service earlier this summer as caretaker at remote and abandoned portsmouth island off the north carolina coast, i had to deal on a daily basis with high heat, a horrendous mosquito population, and constant tiring physical labor. i took some nuun along to try as i thought it would help, and i was right. it gave me the endurance to get through some rough days. thanks again!
john, nc07 August 2007thanks - you guys rock and so does your product! saved my husband's life on his most recent 1/2 ironman and he qualified to go to the world championship 1/2 ironman in clearwater, florida, thanks to nuun!!!!!
robin06 August 2007nuun literally saved my life last week. i am up to 65 miles a day on my training which means i now have to carry more hydration because i am sweating more. dummy me forgot that my blood pressure medication has a diuretic in it and this was causing me to "bonk" and get real close to heat exhaustion on the return leg of my ride. luckily i always carry an extra tube with me in my hydration pack, so i stopped and bought some more water, added some more nuun and was soon on my way again. i shudder to think what would have happened if i had not been able to replace the electrolytes lost in the sweat. i'm a believer, and i am trying to make everyone else i know who cycles a believer as well. bikejournal .com is where i log my miles and i have posted in their forum how much i depend on my nuun, so i hope others will do the same.
bill, tx04 August 2007your product is awesome. i've been using nuun in conjunction with gels and efs from first endurance on my long runs. this combination has been working great for me. when i've been out for a few hours and my stomach is going south nuun still tastes refreshing. i'm heading to the el vaquero loco 50k this weekend and they will have nuun at the aid stations...
jeff, ut02 August 2007hi nuunites. i first tried nuun when i was mixing some up for an aid station at capitol peak 50 miler near olympia this spring. i thought it was yummy, liked the very slight bubbly feel in my mouth, and ordered a box. i've used it on long (2-10 hour) training runs since then and have been very happy with it. it's also revived me and my husband after we worked ourself silly moving gravel and dirt in the yard all one 90+ degree day. but i hadn't tried it in a race until this past saturday, when I ran the pct 50 miler on mt. hood. i drank nothing but nuun all day and had no cramping and no stomach issues --electrolyte levels and hydration seemed to stay on track all day. it tasted almost as good during the last mile as it did during the first. i usually tire of other drinks so find myself drinking less and before i know it i'm dehydrated. i also really liked the fact that it wasn't contributing to my calorie intake. it was much easier to keep track of the calories i was taking in without having to figure in any in my drink...thanks for creating a great product! really good flavors, not sweet, so convenient to carry on long runs or put in drop bags, and they don't raise eyebrows when you take them through airport security in a carry-on (unlike pre-measured bags of powdered drink mixes!). i've been giving tubes of it to my active sibling/siblings-in-law and they like it too.
caroline, or30 July 2007i have been using nuun now for about a month and i love it! i am really happy with the results! i love the clean taste! i travel for work too and really like the tube packaging! thanks for making a great product.
chance, ca29 July 2007i filled up my water bottle with water and plopped in a nuun tablet. when i was first sponsored by nuun i wasn't really sure of how my body would react to the new stuff, but over the last several months i have really come to appreciate the ease and convenience of the little tablets. unlike the mystery aide drink they had on the ride, nuun is always the right consistency and taste. when they mix up the power drinks at the rest stop they always seem to use different amounts of powder and this means that sometimes it taste just right but most times it is either too strong or too week. i actually used up an entire bottle of nuun tablets on the ride, and i was so happy to have such a convenient and personal supply of my very own perfect hydration mix.
roman, team race athlete28 July 2007i first had nuun tablets and a triathloncamp and was hooked ever since. my recent sponsorship retailer store carries them and i used them prior to my half-ironman and after for recovery. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
angela, bc canada24 July 2007NOTE: the team at nuun thinks jordan is great. not just because he's doing he loves and well, what we wish we could when were just 10 years old, or even 11 years old. but because he will be the youngest person to summit 7 peaks around the world! he's already got 3 out of the way. well, and plus he's just super cool to begin with. oh yeah, did we mention he's one of our sponsored athletes?! click here to read more about his adventures and see what peak he'l be on next! www.jordanromero.com
i don't like to drink sweet stuff when i climb and my dad has always told me to take electrolytes, that it's "good for my muscles"...the only thing that works for my legs is nuun. it's easy and i love nuun.
jordan24 July 2007*NOTE: james is one of nuun's sponsored athletes. we think he's just great! however, we also thought we'd clarify when we say "here we come!" we actually mean "here he comes"... though we will definitely be cheering and screaming for him.
the xterra season so far has been HOT! most xterra races get off to later starts and we are still racing in the middle of the day in 90+ degree heat. this has made staying hydrated both during before the race and during the race itself very important. nuun has been a key to my success. by the time i finish the swim, come off the bike, and head out to the run it’s already been a long, hot day. i take in nuun on the course and it is my sole source of electrolytes and regardless of the heat, i know when i hit the run i am hydrated and ready to throw down. nuun just makes it easy-no need to fumble around with pills or the sugary drinks offered on the course. i will continue to use nuun as i train and race myself to the xterra national and world championships.
james, ca24 July 2007my wife and i have recently purchase a 9 pack of nuun and we love it! it has really helped with headaches and fatigue. we have started to recommend it to all of our friends and they are catching on. thanks again for a great product.
mike & michelle, hi23 July 2007just wanted to say thanks for your awesome product , it's my favorite sports drink - period! prior to joining team mobile money, i'd never heard of nuun. i'd tried gatorade, powerade, sustain (some other powdered drink), and others, but never found one that i LOVED. the others all "worked", but left me feeling even more thirsty, and most had far to "sticky-sweet" of a taste. i gave nuun a shot and instantly noticed a difference in the taste - a GOOD thing. it works beautifully for me whether it be 40-degrees out, 90-degrees, etc. No sugary or overbearing aftertaste at all - just pure refreshment. i'm a firm believer in nuun now and promote it to others every chance I get.
ryan, wa23 July 2007i'm an avid adventure racer and trail runner and was a volunteer at primal quest 2006... you have a bad ass adventure racing team. well, thanks for a kick ass product! i love the new cola flavor - it tastes like a watered down diet coke which is a perfect fix when on the trail so you dont get too much sweetness, but still get the refreshment of a soda.
daniel, ar20 July 2007I recently started to bonk on Mt. Whitney. I was given a sample of your product to try and remembered that I had it with me in my backpack. Long story short I summitted without any problems and your product worked!
todd, ca19 July 2007i wanted to drop you and quick note and let you know your product is awesome. it kicks ass. a friend up in seattle who knows a few of you guys recommended it a while ago and i finally got around to trying it. love the kona kola. love the convenience of the container. love that my hydration doesn’t taste like a syrupy mess. love that my cramping on long rides seems to be lessoned. i just completed the death ride in tahoe and i sincerely attribute nuun to helping me get through that death march much faster than anticipated. thanks for developing a great product. keep up the good work!
steve, ca19 July 2007i have been using your product for about one month at this point. i really find it to be very effective for rehydration and it's not too sweet. thank you very much for being innovative in your packaging.
joy, ma18 July 2007i will never give up on nuun cause it´s the best! just talked to my friend tonight and he is a true believer in nuun and we have been active in introducing nuun in iceland. regarding my 100 km race, my friend had few nuun tablets left and with that i ran the 100 k in extreme heat and it was very nice to pass some folks in the end when the heat forced them to walk. 10th place in my debut race were 1/3 of the field quit due to the hot conditions.....not bad. THANKS TO NUUN!
borkur, iceland17 July 2007i was in nz for a running race a few weeks ago, 10km for me, and marathon for hubby, and a cycling mate gave us some nuun to try. we loved it and can't wait to get some in australia.
sarah, aus16 July 2007i love nuun. i used to always get dehydrated on climbing trips, and now i run one or two tabs in every water bladder and i haven't had a problem since. great stuff, especially the new kola flavor
john, montrail team member15 July 2007i recently purchased 2 tubes of nuun at inside out sports at ironman idaho. I LOVE IT!!! i have used it on my last 2 training rides & on an 18-mile run yesterday. i used to use accelerade, but just switched to perpetuem & added the nuun to that. awesome.
sally, st. louis14 July 2007first of all, thank you for the package and the tattoos! i just wanted you guys to know i qualified for the world championship ironman 70.3 in clearwater, fl being held in nov!! i qualified this past sunday at lak stevens! i actually got asked by a few athletes where I got my nuun tattoos!! nuun is good stuff!!! Truly is....thank you!
tim, wa13 July 2007i tried nuun out for the 1st time today. i really liked the taste and after using it on my 3.5hr run, i came to like it even more and more. the taste didn't bother me like other drinks such as gatorade, heed, etc. typically i get so sick of those drinks after a few hours. but nuun worked out quite well. i still want to try a few of the other flavors as well as try them on longer runs (4-6hrs). i'm curious to see if my stomach will tolerate it like it did today. so far so good! i'll definitely begin supporting it with my ultra friends as well as triathletes that come into our shop!
rob, va12 July 2007nuun is the quintessential hydration product for endurance athletes. once the hot weather rolls around, i include nuun before, during, and after each workout. the difference in energy level, performance, and recovery is significant. nuun is a perfect healthy substitute for sodas and soft drinks... i pop a kona cola in an ice cold glass of water instead of grabbing a sugar-filled pop! my office, bike, closet, pantry, and refrigerator all have hidden bottles of nuun tucked away- it's one of my best secret weapons!
ben, nuun sponsored triathlete10 July 2007i have tried it and i like it. you have sold me!
gina09 July 2007recently found your product reviewed in a cycling magazine, and just had to try it. now i would never go back to only water for my hydration needs. i will be using it for training and for all of my rides, so please make plenty. i especially like that little fizz you added!
bill09 July 2007wow! that's customer service...something i am not used to. thank you so much for expediting that order to me. i do not know what i would do without your product on my 500 mile ride. since i was unsure that you would get my message because of the holiday, i drove 30 miles (to another state!) to a shop that sells nuun just to ensure i had what i needed for my trip.
rob, nj08 July 2007i am the sales and product expert for REI tukwila and i received your very generous gift of nuun products to demo with my staff last week. i am always up for trying an electrolyte mix and i was highly impressed with its performance. i REALLY appreciate the "no sugar" aspect and the flavors were wonderful and not too “sicky” sweet. i climbed 3 peaks this past week training for some larger mountains and used nuun every time. i will be passing these out to my staff tomorrow with some first hand experience. thank you for letting us demo them! you have an excellent product for the REI customer.
sarah, rei sales and product expert, tukwila store06 July 2007i recently tried your nuun product and was blown away. i absolutely love everything about this product: it’s simple to use, light weight, tastes great, and more importantly it works.
john, wa06 July 2007thanks for a great product, i would never ride without it!
bill, tx05 July 2007the locos grill and pub cycling team relationship with nuun started as with any other nutritional sponsorship but the guys on the team now regard their nuun tubes like a security blanket and are rarely if ever without them. you guys have truly created a terrific product; it simply makes a noticeable difference. thanks for the support and we will definitely keep you in the loop as we head to national championships and tour de toona.
micah, locos grill and pub cycling team rider02 July 2007**NOTE-we're quite fond of about.com and were a bit estastic to find this lovely article about nuun from jesslyn. click here to read more here **
maybe i should ask "have you heard of them?" i've tried a lot of hydration helpers: gatorade, powerade, refresh, accelerade, trek, but none of them can beat nuun tabs for me. why? because nuun has no sugar, no calories, no unnecessary ingredients. it tastes good (once you get used to it anyway), costs less (when you look at it per serving), and packs light. basically, nuun is the healthy version of sports drinks. and they've just gotten better: a new flavor, kona cola, has been introduced. beware! your first sip may surprise you if you expect a refreshing soda flavor. everyone i know who has tried it has said that at first it tasted a little medicine-y but that after a few sips they got used to it and most even liked it. personally, i think it's great! i have a cola substitute when i want a soda with my after-run meal. and it's not SO fantastic that i want to drink it all the time. perfect! my suggestion is that if you are a sports drink fan looking for a healthier alternative, try nuun. if you can't quit the sodas, try nuun.
jesslyn, about.com01 July 2007got the stuff today! hurray! went 3-for-4 at the plate in softball tonight and attribute all my base hits to nuun hydration. just broke 4 tablets to fit into bottled water bottles (good idea "scoring" them for easy breaking) for an adirdondack peaks climb tomorrow. trust nuun will get me to the top of 4,600+ feet mt. dix. thanks for your help (and coolness).
bill, ny30 June 2007i love nuun, can't find anything that even compares to it and so i am wondering why no one in my town carries it in their store? I live in cs and i think this is a market that would really use your wonderful product. just thought i'd let you know. i'll keep spreading the word as i run. *NOTE from team nuun- we're quite busy in trying to spread the nuun love and unfortunately may not be in some shops that are most convenient to some of our customers...though we are trying. if you can get your favourite local shop to carry nuun, we'll send you a nice little gift as a thank you!
katherine, colorado27 June 2007i have for the past year been using nuun to get me through training and racing. however, only recently have i discovered how great it actually is. i won my first big race of the year a few weeks back (one o one, in bradenton, florida) i consumed 6 tablets of nuun throughout the race, and i felt amazing almost the whole way (i think i'd be superwoman if i didn't admit to feeling wasted towards the last stages of the run). nuun enabled me to keep my hydration up while replacing all the minerals that my body was using during the race. thanks nuun for getting me through a long day..........and many more to come.
leanda, 2002 ITU World Champion and nuun user25 June 2007i first learned about nuun at the ’04 ironman coeur d’alene. just before the start of the race i noticed this guy drop these “unusual” little tablets into his water bottles. i asked him what they were all about and he told me a little bit about nuun and how convenient and effective they were. i purchased a tube shortly thereafter and have been hooked ever since!
lance, al20 June 2007i just purchased my first bottles two weeks ago and have been using nuun now for those two weeks. this morning, i won my age group (35-39) at a local triathlon, which qualified me for the USAT nationals in portland, this june. thank you so much for your product!
tim, or20 June 2007i tried nuun just from seeing your website link on mind over mountain adventure racing. i was training for the momar race so i thought i’d take a chance and try your product. i am so glad i did – its fantastic – no upset stomach and not to sweet. i've introduced it to my trail running friends and now they’re hooked on it to. i can’t wait to try the different flavours available. we recently competed in the squamish momar and our team used nuun and we had a great race with no cramping. nuun is great!!!
lisa, chilliwack bc19 June 2007i want to let you know that it was over 80 degrees at whistler which felt like 100 under my chest protector....i brought my nuun and it saved my life on both days.
eric, wa18 June 2007the stuff is the bomb! i have been using it ever since matt turned me on to it when i was at the HURT 100 last january. it has the perfect carbonation and is very effective. glad you are on the montrail team, nuun is a great addition. thanks again for everything!
karl, ut- montrail ultrarunning team17 June 2007i just participated in the san diego marathon and met some of your team at the expo. i sampled your sport drink and it was fantastic. i also had heard great things about it from my local running store, runnergy, in sherman oaks, ca.
lucie, ca16 June 2007first off i LOVE nuun!!!! i am part of orange county trail runners and our whole group of ultra running maniacs are addicted to your stuff!! ADDICTED! it is the best stuff out there.
keira, orange county trail runners, ca13 June 2007howdy all. hey, just a quick note to let you all know that i love your product. i run for montrail as one of their ultrarunners. i have always had problems with my kidneys during 100 milers and since i have tried your tablets---so far so good during training runs. i have not yet run a 100 miler since you all came out but i am going to run hardrock in july and your tabs will be with me. i love the fizzy taste so just don't change a thing. can hardly wait to try the caffiene ones!!
randy, montrail ultra-runner12 June 2007i am a senior in high school and a competitive varsity rower. i used to be tired all the time with academics, crew, college applications, and of course, maintaining my mental sanity. after i started taking nuun daily and drinking a much more abundant amounts of water, the change was unbelievable. my endurance is much longer, i have more energy, and my PR times have dropped significantly. this is an amazing product. thank you!
jane, ca12 June 2007nuun provides me with the absolute best way to stay hydrated during my long workouts. it's fizzy flavor is just what i need to keep drinking! the tablets are so convenient that i can take them absolutely anywhere... the pool, long bike rides, or out on the trails.
alisha, nuun pro-athlete11 June 2007** note from nuun: keith and three other friends are biking 2700+ miles from alberta to the us/mexico border in 70 days. we're very fortunate to get such kind words from keith and a mention on their blog. we were super excited that we've put the content here but to read more and check up these crazy folks -click here **
recently, while riding up at the kingdom trails in vermont, i tried a new electrolyte replacement tablet that i really liked. its a new product called nuun (pronounced noon) and i felt it really helped prevent me from cramping up on a 6+ hour ride. i raced up every hill we encountered (i cannot say nuun directly helped with that) and felt no cramping or fatigue (nuun definitely had a hand in that!). so far i have tried the lemon lime and tri-berry flavors and have enjoyed them both. all i do is fill up my bottle with water, pop one in and BAM its all mixed and ready to drink in a couple of minutes. i have a few friends that use it hiking and enjoy the sensation of not being sore when they get back to the car. the best part is, there is no sugar so you don't get that bell curve rush of energy and it doesn't pollute your camelbak. thank to Jack and tim at nuun for helping us on our quest to stay hydrated on the 2700 mile journey!
keith, vt04 June 2007hi, wanted to write and let you know i just did florida 70.3 and used nuun for the first time in a race. i am happy to say that things went real well! it was the first race ever (half iron distance) that i did not have any cramping or stomach problems and it was nice and hot out too!! nuun was real nice and easy on my stomach and tasted good too. iam looking forward to using nuun in my upcoming races which include another half ironman and ironman wisconsin! glad i found your product! it was recommended to me by a sales rep at mission bay multisport in IL. thanks again for a great product!
dominic, il02 June 2007i love the nuun tablets-i used it on the momar adventure race in squamish-it was very warm that day and i had no cramping- the only drink i have tasted that is refreshing, delicious, and does not bother my stomach!
christina, bc, canada02 June 2007i used your product for the first time at the tour de cure bicycle ride here in the northwest. i tried several of the flavors and liked all of them. having lightweight tablets to stash in my bag is great for long rides when hydration isn’t always satisfied with water alone.
matt, wa01 June 2007all i can say is WOW! i certainly did not expect your 'love kit'...still shocked & amazed..that's the most caring and detailed customer service i've ever received anywhere...and the hand written note...i'd say your customer care was above and beyond any expectations i had... i wish i lived in seattle...nuun is a company i'd love to work for!
lisa, ct31 May 2007i had seen the nuun sponsorships at some events (and even received a free tube at the sun devil criterium), but one of the dads that rides with us showed up with some nuun one morning and said a triathlete friend of his recommended it. he popped it in his bottle, it fizzed, we all went "Oooooh!", and we've been using it ever since.
jason, az31 May 2007this stuff is great!! i do a lot of biking and running and nuun has really helped during and after. thank you
hoan, wa31 May 2007i tried nuun on a century ride and really liked it. over the next few weeks i drank nuun on every bike ride from our nightly rides of 20 miles to a couple of 60+ mile rides. on may 17th, i hiked rim to rim in the grand canyon in 13 1/2 hours. i used nuun (citrus flavor) in my hydration pack and in my water bottles. it was so easy to carry in my pack. everytime there was drinkable water, i just refilled and added a couple of tablets. from phantom ranch to cottonwood camp - about 8 miles - it was about 105 degrees. i drank about 140 ounces of nuun. others in my group felt the effects of dehydration but i felt great the whole time. thanks for a great product. i plan to continue to use it biking, hiking, running and during triathlons. btw - the best thing about nuun is no more "science experiments" growing in my water bottle!
pam, ms30 May 2007nuun-ites...wanted to let you know that i truly digg your products. i think the berry flav is currently the bomb out here as most that have tried it seem to love it. i found out about you folks via the race athlete website as well as the pod-casters (simply stu, zen and the art of triathlon, etc.) advertising your product. they have all been correct about it thus far, i do pass it along to all of my friends that will tolerate my blathering about all of my nifty triathlon stuff. much thanks
richard, az30 May 2007the tour de cure is a series of bike rides, ranging from 20 miles to the full 100-mile century ride, and takes place around the country as a nationwide day of riding to raise money for the american diabetes association. it was 5:30 in the morning and the rain was coming down pretty hard. when i finally did drag myself out of bed, the rain was still coming down but at least i was a bit more rested. the century ride i was registered for started at 7:00 -- which i wasn't going to make -- but i figured i would just show up and ride the route on my own as a solo time trial. there were five aid stations out on the course, three of which i visited, and i must say that the volunteers and support on the ride were top-notch. plenty of good fruit, energy bars, bagels, and water and nuun. i've been using the nuun electrolyte tablets (dissolved in water for a subtle-tasting sugar-free drink) and love them. and it's good to support a local company. i was thrilled to see them out on the course, and even more excited at the rest stop at mile 80 to see that Nuun has recently introduced a new caffeinated cola flavor. believe it or not, but "flat coke" is one the long-time secrets of endurance athletes. you don't want the carbonation so you have to leave it sitting out for a while, but the sugar and caffeine make for a great pick-me-up in the late stages of a race. and now nuun has the flavor available too -- and it tasted great! very cool. i was pretty fried by the end of the ride and the last few miles of the ride were indeed painful, but i finished in 5:38 for an average of 17.6mph over the 99.4 mile course. also ended up with 4,812 feet of elevation gain too, which is a fair amount for a century ride.
doug, wa30 May 2007** NOTE - we're very lucky to get such kind words from dimity and a mention in her blog...we were so chuffed we've put the content here but to read more - click here **
After my two-Nalgene-bottle a day experiment last week, I was definitely hydrated. My body was functioning like a hose: water in, water out. I was psyched to thrive on my 80-minute run. (And, just as importantly, after it, since, among other things on this Saturday, I had swimming lessons to go to, flowers to plant and a bathroom to clean). I ran well, came home, ready to get on with my day. And then I felt another please-no-please-no headache coming on again. I couldn't believe it: my urine had been basically clear for five days. What else could I do?
Fortunately, somebody is smarter than I am about training: my coach, Ivana Bisaro of Carmichael Training Systems. After telling her about my headache last week, she nonchalantly suggested salt accompany my copious amounts of water. "Just eat some pretzels, or drink some watered-down recovery sports drink," she mentioned, as if she was telling me to warm-up before I run. (In other words, a no-brainer.)
I should--and do--know that, but my brain is full of things like how I'll get Amelia to open her mouth on her first dentist visit, not the importance of salt in relation to hydration. Plus, I'm not a pretzel fan and acidy sports drinks make me want to hurl.
Fortunately, I found a perfect solution: nuun, gently sweet, sugar-free tablets you drop into your water bottle. As they fizz and dissolve, they release all the electrolytes (sodium and potassium, mainly) a sweaty, marathon-training mom needs. With my head pulsing, I tossed a tablet in my water bottle and drank it quickly. It was as if I had taken five super-duper Advil: my headache disappeared instantly. Of course, I had other headaches to deal with that day--namely, Ben's incoming molars--but vicarious ones are much easier to manage when you don't have a real one.
Dimity29 May 2007NUUN! where I use these... on long rides, they are wonderfully portable and just as you described in your webpage, you get stuck w/whatever the local stop and shop has in the cooler - usually some sweet, syrupy, pseudo sports drink w/no electrolytes in it; in my office after my morning workout or lunchtime run when my only options are a water fountain and a soda machine; or when I'm out playing soldier (I'm in the Army) and the canteen water just won't cut it. Love them, they are great. thanks!
heidi, wa27 May 2007so here's where i'm at with nuun. i have only been using them for a few days and i have to say they do seem to work. sorry for being so skeptical! my friend and i are training for a half marathon and before taking the nuun tablets the long runs (10 to 12 miles) just wiped us out. But since taking nuun the recovery is a lot better. thank you for a great product.
barb, pa25 May 2007i used your tablets for the first time last saturday at the tsali 12 hour mountain bike race. they were amazing! no cramping for the entire race. plus no mixing! i just popped 4 into my hydration pack and i was ready to roll. i'll be using nuuns for the rest of the summer endurance races. thanks!
ken, sc23 May 2007i received the magic envelope with the cola tube on thursday and did 2 26+ mile long trail runs on sat and sun. it was hot! the new flavor is great-and i had a chance to share it with some running companions too. many thanks! these tablets make it so easy to fill water bottles in the creek and and just go on!
annette, montrail team runner22 May 2007nuun is the best!!!! i have been searching for a solution to the dehydration issues with the arizona dry heat and i finally found it. i am equestrian rider and 1 of the keys to staying focused while riding is hydration and nuun solves the problem.
naima, az22 May 2007so yeah i just started getting into these ultra trail run thingies and am addicted! my first 50 miler was leone divide this year and at that race they gave me a tube of nuun. i thought "what's this?" well i wasn't about to try something new during my first big race so i held onto it for later training runs. i started to use it and liked the flavor (not overpowering) and the bonus that they seem to double as pop-rocks. so my next 50 miler was the PCT and i decided to use lots of nuun. i did sooo much better! of course there were many other factors (the course difficulty, my eating and salt intake, etc) but nuun was most definitely part of the new strategy that got me across in 14th place, a full 30 minutes faster than leona! i even felt fresh when i finished and knew i could keep going (if say, a bear was chasing me). so i'm sold on your product and have ordered 12 tubes!
kevin17 May 2007i would like to thank you for making a product that works. i'm a bike tech at EMS. recently, we began carrying nuun tablets and i was skeptical at best as i loved my heed and didn't think anything could top that. i decided to buy a tube (lemon-lime) so that i could honestly tell my customers that it didn't work as good as heed. while riding this weekend up at kingdom trails in vermont, it was time to give nuun a try. after a 300 foot climb to get warmed up, i took a swig from my water bottle and was completely blown away by the taste. "hey, this isn't chalky", i thought to myself. you must excuse me as i thought all good nutritional supplements tasted like crap. at about mile 20, our group had climbed a little over 2500' and everyone seemed to start cramping up. everyone except for me. i was looking for climbs to see how much longer i could keep this up. i finished the weekend with 50+ miles and feel fantastic.
keith, vt15 May 2007i came across it through checkpoint zero and because of the adventure racing team you sponsor. your product is well suited to adventure racing due to its portability, and would likely appeal to lots of people out this way!
sally, canada15 May 2007i actually heard about nuun from the raceathlete team and read the good review and said i need to try this. tried it and loved it.
brian, canada15 May 2007i first came across nuun in a very favourable review of your product in mountain biking uk magazine and i've been telling all my biking buddies about it ever since.
phil, uk15 May 2007i ride mountain bikes primarily, but also ride some road via my steel track frame fixed gear bike. i road 31 miles this past sunday, consuming 2 larger bottles with 1 nuun each, worked great, no cramping issues... that being said, i really feel the nuun helped as i was pushing it at times. i have some consecutive days of mountain biking on colorado coming up and later in august, i am planning on doing a 75 mile ride on my fixed gear. it's 1/2 of the pedal to the point from cleveland, OH to sandusky, OH (home of cedar point amusement park - thus "pedal to the point"). it's a ride to raise funds for MS. i will need some nuun for that ride!
dwayne, co14 May 2007thanks for the kona cola nuun!!! i LOVE it, of course! i think it's such a great product for so many reasons, not the least of which is we finally have something that simulates the marathon 'fuel-of-choice' in an ironman. and training with what you expect to do on race day is critical as I'm sure you already know. so thanks to you and all the people at nuun for providing such a valuable and great tasting product. it just gets better and better all the time!
joel, wa14 May 2007i have been a user of nuun for some time now and have found it a great product, aiding performance in the type of endurance racing I enjoy and ultimately also aiding recovery. certainly yours is a product i am happy to recommend to my cycling and sports enthusiast friends and colleagues.
daniel, racer in RAAM in making cancer history ride13 May 2007i'm impressed. the packaging is ideal for cycling and running, the taste is perfect... not too mild, not too strong, with no sugars, perfect for hydrating.
michael, ri12 May 2007i am what you might call a recreational trail runner. that's a pretty bad oxymoron in my book, but you won't see me on any podium (unless everyone has already gone home and i need a place to sit). even though i have a pretty significant sports medicine, fitness and nutrition background (21 years in practice), i'd still find myself with the traditional cramping on 2-3 hour events. i tried all the stuff out there with fully patterned nutrition in and off-season and a year-round periodized program. i knew i needed something else to help me overcome this twitch-twitch-twitching. with my tri-buddy dave's blessing i grabbed a tube of nuun and off to my weekend LSD. hmmm...no twitch even well after 3 hours in the dry, windy new england spring. tried it this weekend at a shorter, flatter trail event and had decreasing negative splits from the turn around home. and no twitching. yeah, it was shorter and flatter, but now we had consistency. i know why your stuff should work, but it still is wicked cool that it does. so much obviously does not deliver, it is nice to see something that does. if i ask my body to deliver the goods on these events, i need to rely on what goes in and on to do the same.
paul, ct11 May 2007the reason i chose nuun for my adventure was because it's simple and i know it works. it's easy to use, easy to carry and it tastes better than those other sport drinks out there today. nuun is my hydration solution no matter what activity I'm doing.
craig, Scatman PCT11 May 2007hey nuun - my job as team captain is to seek out products we believe will help us get atop the podium. we will NOT endorse products that don't work for us, and our team can collectively say that nuun is one of the best electrolyte replacement products on the market today. easy to use, lightweight, great flavors, and essential for pushing the pace. vital for success in an adventure race? map and compass, great team-mates and a tube of nuun in our backpack. if keeping the big dogs in your sight is important to you, nuun's the key. thanks
Earring Doug -Team Captain of Esprit de Corp/Technu Extreme Adventure Racing10 May 2007i had my first triathlon on saturday. out of 260 people, i placed 7th overall and 1st in my age group. i was the first non elite to cross the line. i had tri-berry nuun in my aero bottle and it helped me tons on a relatively hot day. thanks again and i don't leave the house without nuun in my waterbottles. plain water just tastes weird now.
daniel, va10 May 2007i've been using nuun in my training and racing for a while and in my last race i made up my bike-leg water bottle with double-strength nuun and no cramps!
adam08 May 2007i first came across nuun during a 24 hour mtb race the end of 2006 when i suffered bad cramps half way around a lap. another rider stopped to help and gave me a nuun tablet to dissolve in my water bottle and said it should help and a couple of minutes later i was able to ride again and even did another lap before stopping. i bought a tube off of them at the race and have been using it ever since.
bruce, aus07 May 2007nuun! wanted to fill you on what's been going on. we had a blast at the baja travesia in mexico this past march and nuun worked really well as usual. it's so easy - no messy powders and it's not sticky which is a big deal when you're not able to stop and de-gunk. and one more thing, we love the lack of waste compared to all the empty packets of powders or bottles. definitely a big plus. we'll let you know how we do at the next race NOTE FROM NUUN: team barely legal is a group of young people trying to make the most of the outdoors and enjoy adventure racing together. what makes the team unique is their youth, cheerful energy and lack of monetary resources as all four members are in high school or college so often getting to the race start presents the greatest challenge for them. adventure racing is an addictive sport and this is one of the teams to watch. in addition to being one of the coolest groups on the planet they're also one of the teams we proudly support
erica, team barely legal adventure racing team05 May 2007i just received the little care package and your note. thank you very much for taking the time. it is refreshing to see the value recognized in serving the customer. the stickers will be on my water bottles for all to see as i hike the grand canyon and other areas of the country. we will definitely be spreading the word about the product and the service provided. again thank you for the effort. a hydrated customer life!
jim, il03 May 2007thank you for having a great product. iwas doing an adventure race this weekend and the temperature was a bit extreme. as an athlete, i almost never try to drink plain water. i always need to have some electrolyte replacement. i don't like the caps and I sometimes have to carry bags of powder to refill in the field. The nuun tabs are genius and a life saver.
hani02 May 2007greetings folks,
just want to let you know how happy i am to have discovered your great product.
i started out using it as an alternative to gatorade for triathlon, but find it now even more useful for trailrunning. in most of the smaller races, all the aid-stations provide is water or 'sportsdrink' (most of the time you don't even know what brand you are getting.
now i just fill my camelback, pop 2 nuuns in and am ready to go. tri-berry is a great flavor!
regards from portland,
dear nuun,

yendys 2007 southport race.
i'm a randonneur who does long distance ultra-cycling and have been having some difficulties with proper hydration on my 300 kilometer and longer events. i picked up some nuun on a whim at my local bike shop (nelo's pro cycles in austin, texas). yesterday i rode a 203km ride through rural east texas. nuun worked out great! i felt fully hydrated, my legs were less tired and i felt good at the end.
jim, texas16 April 2007hello,
friend from wa just shared some of her nuuns with me on a recent biking trip. i'm addicted to the kona cola. i checked a local dealer and they didn't have that flavor, nor is it for sale in your online store. when will you offer it for sale on the web? i'm ready to shop! [note from nuunwatch those storesit started shipping this week!)
i just wanted to relate a funny story. i recently purchased a box of your nuun tablets and my boyfriend has taken quite a liking to them. every morning, he pulls out a nuun tablet, and puts it in his purple nalgene bottle in preparation for his daily trip to the gym.
about the same time, dan takes his vitamins and supplements and gives his 10-year-old yellow labrador retriever, ranger, his daily arthritis joint tablet. last week, dan was getting ready to leave for the gym and noticed ranger let out a very large belch! ranger continued to burp for some time, so my dan kept an eye on him, but the dog wasn't actually getting sick, so he went to the gym for his workout. it wasn't until dan took a swig from his nalgene bottle at the gym and tasted the bitter taste that he put two and two together! ranger, of course, had gotten the nuun, and dan had put the dog pill in the nalgene bottle. except for excessive belching, ranger was no worse for wear (and actually seemed pretty peppy for the rest of the day)!
nuun:
i'm a pipelayer ,so i sweat allot. i leg cramp bad during the midnight sun season. drinking electrolyte or taking quinine sulfate caps. it's great to find nuun on the market.
i just wanted to say a big thanks for the nuun that andy and i used for the 2007 marathon des sables, in the sahara. andy and i ran the whole 151 miles together, sharing equipment, nuun tablets and food all the way. we had absolutely no problems with the nuun tablets and they worked a treat for rehydration. most of the other competitors who used other energy powders or drinks, couldnt stomach the sickly taste after day two and threw away the extra powder they were carrying. ours were great, and weighed next to nothing compared to theirs. many thanks again, and i will be using your tablets for all my future adventures.
marc, uk12 April 2007as a part of locos, and i am sure i can speak for others on the team as well, but there is nuun like it! seriously, your product is friendly to the taste buds along with being extremely helpful in hydration. thanks a lot.
chris11 April 2007the worst part about nuun is that once you try it everything else just tastes boring! and it goes down so easy i can drink a whole water bottle before i even start my workout. love this stuff!
joel, WA06 April 2007hi,
i recently got some nuun tabs which i used during the marathon des sables.
i successfully completed the marathon and the tablets played a major part in my re hydration efforts.
thanks!!
i picked up several tubes of your product in coeur d'alene last year when i was there for the ironman. i really like it, especially the fact that it is sugar-free.
leon, ca04 April 2007i tried nuun while training for my first marathon last year and seriously couldn't go without it. it's by far the best product i've tried and the only thing that stopped the cramping. thanks.
Jennifer, NY22 March 2007i tell everyone that nuun is a must. sooooooo, one of our attorney's trained with it and took it to tanzania.. i told her that she must take a picture so i can send it to you!
Stu, OH08 March 2007i tried nuun while training for my first marathon last year and seriously couldn't go without it. it's by far the best product i've tried and the only thing that stopped the cramping i was having.
Jennifer, NY (fitness instructor)05 March 2007i've been using the nuun hydration tablets for a variety of activities to include weight training, hiking and even work (im an electrician) and thought you would like to here the results. when working and sweating hard nuun mix caused no nausea or sick feeling and i also found the drink to not be sticky or gummy in any way! i really like the simple no fuss just drop a tablet into the container with water and a few minutes later you are ready with no mess, packages or lost powder and especially if you are on the go!
Layne, UT11 February 2007nuun,
first off i love nuun. i used to drink gatorade but it had too much sugar and after drinking nuun, i know what you mean about sticky. you have a customer for life.
i suffer from chronic migraines and have for over 25 years. for the past three months they have worsened, and have been on a quest with my neurologist to find that perfect little cocktail to cure the pain, nausea and fatigue that goes along with it...without making me sleep for weeks on end or blabber like an idiot...only succeeding in depleting my bank account, and word searching skills. (these drug side effects are not pretty)
i found nuun at my acupuncturist's office...his lmp swore that it worked great at keeping you hydrated, so i figured that for that it would at least be worth a shot. not only does only one tablet a day keep me hydrated, if i feel a headache coming on i can pop a couple of tablets and ward off a full blown battle. thank you...you even have my neurologist pondering what a wonder your product is...while i am not off all of the meds i am down to just 2 pills a day (rather than 8) and couldn't be happier.
i am 43 now but took up ice hockey at age 39, i just found your product through a friend on a hockey team, who also is a cyclist. thank you! there is nothing but water out there that doesn't pack sugar and or carbs galore into an energy drink. at age 42 i found that i had type 2 diabetes. oh what fun. you can imagine the tasteless enjoyment i have been dragging myself through. after going through the low sugar, carb, taste classes for my new found condition, all energy drink options were out. until nuun. the magic pill for diabetes is diet and exercise. nuun helps me with both. in the 3 weeks i have been using your product i have found a marked improvement in my energy, and 3rd period stamina. reticently i was involved in 2 1.5 hrs hockey sessions with only 1 hr break. the next morning i thought i would find myself racked with leg craps, pain, etc. didn't happen.
thanks again.
i have used your product on long (3+hour training runs since)...and think it's great! i like the portability of the tablets-the lack of sugar and that it tastes good and that i don't have to worry about my hydration packs getting mucked up because of too much sugar. i look forward to being able to take in a few less salt/electrolyte tabs during 50-100 milers using this.
what prompted me to write this evening though-my husband did a long mtn bike ride this afternoon you know that stuff you gave me...it's really good. i like it way better than (gatorade) and it's not too sweet...and he's pickier than i am!
thank you so much for supporting the ultrarunning community and for your creativity for thinking up such a convient product.
hello,
i tried nuun during the last week and half during/before/after my long runs and found your product great. the tabs will also come in handy during some of my extend fastpacking hikes and of course during my ultras.
ps- of the three flavors my favourite is tri-berry.
hello!
i play hockey in a coed and women's league as well as travel with a fun and competitive women's team - i have been using the nuun in my water bottle and have noticed a huge difference in my endurance and hydration. i have told my teammates about it and they are all very curious about it. it doesn't leave a nasty aftertaste and doesn't make my water bottle smell like vomit after a few uses which is what cytomax did! ah, gross but true.
i also manage a fitness center in north conway nh with about 800 members and have a very active spinning program filled with athletes who could benefit from your product.
please let the good folks at nuun know that i have taken their product on several long runs over the past few weeks and been quite happy with the result. my electrolytes have been balanced and my hydration level has stayed strong.
Andy, TEAM MONTRAIL ULTRA-RUNNING TEAM05 January 2007hey, im a triathlete in the dallas area. ive been using nuun for quite a while now and love the product. i definitely wouldnt race without it
Jacob, TX04 January 2007hey nuun, just needed to thank you for such a great product. i've been running for just over a year, and have completed two marathons. my first attempt, i used water and those sugary sports drinks, and had terrible leg cramps and ended up walking much of the last 10 miles. then, a friend told me about nuun-- i spent three months training with it, and ran my second marathon a full 70 minutes faster by popping nuun tablets into a water bottle and filling it with water at aid stations. and guess what? i'm heading to boston in april to tackle the historic route with nuun in hand. thanks!!
Ben, marathoner, Seattle, WA13 December 2006first of all, nuun is awesome, awesome stuff! i'm eagerly awaiting my next 3-pack batch to arrive along with one of your water bottles for me to further spread the exceptional gospel i have about your phenomenal product! i use this stuff on my weekend warrior (-ish) training rides and i'm just blown away at how good one (citrus fruit) tablet is in my 16-oz. bottle. i mean, granted i'm not winning any sprints juuuust yet but it's only winter. i have some time to hone my skills.
Mike, DC05 December 2006so i've got a killer brick in mid-november and even though it's supposed to be fall, it's absolutely scorching hot and i'm sweating like a pig in a wool sweater...although i am in fact wearing as little as i legally can. for those of you not familiar with triathlete terminology, a brick is a bike to run combo. after 2 hours of complete torture that feels like i'm doing my brick in a brick oven, i finish, stumble up the stairs to my condo and grab an empty glass. sixteen ounces of water, then *drop*, *fizz*, in goes my nuun tablet. five minutes later, i'm thoroughly rehydrated and feel absolutely fantastic.
nuun is my training pal during every single sweating session, and even some of the dry ones. it's convenient, tasty, convenient, smart, and oh...did i mention convenient? now i can't train without it. recovery just isn't the same.
i just wanted to thank you on behalf of Team Esprit de Corp for your sponsorship for our upcoming adventure racing season.
i have been using nuun since i discovered it at a triathlon in canada in 2004. nuun tablets have gotten me through many ironman races and helped me survive the blazing heat of primal quest. i seem predisposed to hyponatremia, and finding a good electrolyte product has been a challenge for me - so i am very excited that we will be able to represent a product in which i firmly believe.
thanks again for your support!
i play football here in LA and nuun hydrates in a way that my normal drink doesn't. when it's really hot and you're in the middle of a game [Genericade] is too thick and sugary. i find that nuun is a perfect blend of a light liquid with taste and electrolytes. thank you!
James, LA23 October 2006hi nuun has provided great entertainment here this morning. have you ever tried chewing a tablet? its a hoot! this is a great product. i never drink plain water, myself, so i love this stuff! there has been a request for a beer-flavored tab- just a thought
Lisa, NH19 October 2006just wanted to let you know that I used nuun last weekend (10/13, 14, 15) for the Komen Breast Cancer 3-day walk (60 miles in 3 days) in tampa bay, FL, and I feel excellent today. it was easy to pop the tablets into my deuter hydration pack after refilling with water and ice at the pit stops. thanks for a great product! Im about to reorder.
Angela, FL16 October 2006hi did you know used nuun cylinders are very good bike computer mounts on TT bar extensions. just cut v-notches in either end, and squeeze the tube between the 2 arm extensions - and voila - a bike computer mount!
Bob, CA13 October 2006the anchorage daily news outdoor section recently carried a positive review of nuun - I used nuun during RAGBRAI. one week across Iowa, 10,000 riders, 440 miles, temperatures 10 degrees above normal with heat indexes of up to 105 (not only hot, but humid). nuun helped keep us pedaling for team peacock from upper iowa university -- the team raised $36,000 for student scholarships. so thanks for helping us get there!
Roy, Anchorage, AK10 October 2006i always have a tube on me: at my desk, on each of my bikes, in the car... this was the first year i rode rsvp (the longest distance i have ever ridden) and nuun was so tasty and so convenient; not to mention how handy it was during those warm summer days when i would go on long impromptu rides after work. a+++ with respect to taste and convenience!!
Susan, Redmond, WA10 October 2006i last wrote to you re: nuun tables for imuk. well i have to say that your advice was great. i mixed neutral psp with nuun tablets for most of my carbs, i then added a nuun tablet to each bottle of water that i took on board during the bike. this worked a treat, it's the first time that i've completed an im without throwing up once. usually i get an overload of all things synthetic and sweet. as a direct result of this i'm sure, i won my age group and have just booked my flights to kona. i'll be using even more nuun over there i'm sure. i also preach my new nutrition regime to anyone who will listen. can i also wish you good luck at im canada. thanks for your advice.
Fiona, IM UK finisher on her way to Kona!05 October 2006dear nuun people, just wanted to say how much i love your product. i am on team mighty dog and after primal quest we won a free 6 month supply. i just finished the raid world championships in canada and used nuun throughout the entire 6 day event. it was awesome. never tired of the flavor (don't like the tri-berry, but the lemon rocks). it kept me hydrated properly and made drinking water fun. thanks for such a good product.
Patricia of Team Mighty Dog and Team Speleo Salomon22 September 2006while we were white water rafting last weekend, our brother-in-law got a horrible migraine (partly due to bow-crashing in the morning and partly due to dehydration). after he took a nap, we gave him some water and a couple nuun tablets and he felt great afterwards! good enough to show us how it's done with a beer bong and he led the shotgun demonstration (for beer) as well. nuun did wonders for us all the next morning : )
Dana & Mike, camping on the Tieton River20 September 2006i packed nuun on my Wonderland Trail trek around Mt. Rainier and it was a totally awesome way to hydrate. nuun was way better for me, way better tasting, and way easier to carry than the powder-sweetened yucky [genericade] that my co-hikers chose as their solution to hydration.
Kirstin, Mt. Rainier19 September 2006thanks for helping out the team group health womens cycling team. you have an awesome product and I know it contributed to the outstanding results of the team this year.
Sandy, WA14 September 2006i love nuun. i was introduced by a lady in my spinning class. i absolutely love it for spinning and after a run or workout. in addition, my son takes it to school to help hydrate him during football practice. he likes the lemon+lime the best, i love all the flavors. it is an awesome product and i have a new habit.
Vikki, AZ13 September 2006Thank you nuun. I'm partaking in an INTENSE teacher training for BIKRAM YOGA and the electrolyte replacement is essential due to the fact that we're practicing in a super hot room for about 4 hours a day in addition to about another 10 hours of lectures, posture clinics, etc. nuun has been saving me!!! thank you!!!
BA, a sweaty yoga studio.somewhere12 September 2006i tried nuun at ironman canada 2 weeks ago and it was great! you know how you aren't supposed to try anything new on race day? well, i did it and it was fantastic! thanks.
Beverley, Toronto, Canada11 September 2006i live in the hot southwest desert (las vegas) and the summer temperatures reach 120 degrees. for the last two years the tinting business i work with has been using nuun and it is fantastic. after working in large buses at 140 degrees, a bottle of nuun is the most refreshing drink that we have used to date.
Ron, NV06 September 2006nuun goes great in a cup of hot water. i start every day at work with a cup of hot nuun - takes about 5 seconds to dissolve!
David, New Zealand05 September 2006i like the fact that nuun is electrolytes without carbs, as i like to control my carb intake thru bars and gels. i also like to make sure i'm well hydrated before a race without overloading on carbs and this product is great for that.
Michelle, NM05 September 2006i have enjoyed your product. i picked up a couple of tubes at st. anthony's tri. i am a fan of long course triathlon, but don't like to use sports drinks for less than 1.5 hour sessions. it is also a pain to carry electrolyte tabs on runs and get them out while staying in motion. [nuun] has filled that niche and now i use it often. i feel better during and after my workouts now. the taste is also better than plain water to me. thanks again.
Jason, NC05 September 2006i love nuun, hangover cure for the athlete.
Bill, WA24 August 2006I used nuun to get rid of two headaches (and to taste-test it before my race).? After racing at a 12hr Adventure Race on Saturday and drinking only nuun I can say I love this stuff and will only use it going forward. I mtn biked up a bajillion hills and I got no cramping and no headaches.? I used to do powdered electrolyte drink in one bladder and water in another b/c the taste would start to get to me after a while.? At this past race, I lost the valve to my tube that had the Nuun in it (afer I had finished it, on the kayak) but it wasn't a problem because I knew I wouldn't need the second water only bladder with nuun now as my hydration.? Also, not having messy powders made refilling so freakin' easy. THANK YOU!!!
Catherine, NY14 August 2006I race in the Seattle area and use nuun whenever I can, great stuff. No longer do I get headaches after 10-20 hrs racing, nor do I feel sick due to overly strong flavoured hydration drinks. Unfortunately my team is not sponsored by nuun, but still I have no issues buying your product because it works. Just reading about my ex-team mates story at the primal quest and the lengths you went to in order to get them supplies. Great effort and fantastic to see a company such as yourselves going the extra mile for racers who put themselves in real hardship during that race. They did not win, but they did finish ranked; a huge achievement given the conditions and I?m sure made all the more possible by nuun. Good luck going global ? you deserve it!
Ruaraidh, WA08 August 2006nuun is great especially on those very hot days when I've taken in enough carbs, but still need to stay hydrated. I'm a fan. I did a sprint tri over the weekend and sported the visor on the run.
Richard, IL03 August 2006Thanks to nuun, I felt as good at the end of RAMROD (Ride around Mt. Rainier in One Day) as I did at the start.
David, WA03 August 2006I ran the Elkhorn 50mi. trail race in Helena, Montana Jul29 and finished 5th (11:40min.) It was a gruelling race with 10,000 ft. of climbing, very rocky technical trail and temperatures soaring to 95F. Usually, the heat gives me problems with my stomach, then drinking and eating become a huge problem. But I used nuun the whole race and had zero issues. I never got tired of drinking nuun which has happened with many other sport drinks. My stomach never felt upset so I was able to eat throughout the race which gave me the energy to run a solid race. The other nice thing about nuun is its portability and easy use. I just showed up to the aid station, chunked three nuuns in my [hydration pack] then filled it with water and off I went into the Montana wilderness. I swear by nuun now and I stay away from sugary foods as well during races. I'll be running the Lost Soul 100mi trail race in September in Lethbridge, Alberta. I plan on using nuun again. It's a great product. You people are genius.
Benoit, Calgary01 August 2006On a personal note, thought you might like to hear that I was using nuun on course on my first 1/2 Iron Du about 3 weeks ago in Peterborough (Ontario, Canada). While I don't have a comparison (as I mentioned, this was my first 1/2 Iron) I managed to go from my standard "slightly better than mid pack" age-grouper to a 10th place (3rd in my age group!, semi-podium) finish! Can't say it's *all* due to nuun - but at those distances nutrition is obviously a big factor. So... thanks!
Mark, Canada31 July 2006Used my nuun tablets in IM and recorded a PB ( 9:51 - previous PB 10:40 ). I'm 47 and have now competed in 9 Ironman distance events and have suffered cramps in every one until this year. I mounted an aero bottle on the front of my bike and kept it filled with the [genericade] drink being given out at the aid stations. Having refilled the bottle, I then dropped a nuun tablet in. On the run I kept some pre-broken nuun tablets in my race belt pouch and regularly dropped a piece into a cup of water at the aid stations. Throughout the race I was waiting for those minor spasms that indicate the oncoming cramps but nothing happened - I completed the event with what felt like fresh legs! Cramps have been a ongoing problem for me in endurance events, I have tried tablets, [special] socks, etc. but have always suffered. This was to have been my last event, I was getting that fed up of never achieving my potential. Looks like nuun has given me a new leash on life in the sport and lifestyle I love so much. I cannot praise nuun tablets highly enough and will make sure that all the Ironman triathletes I train with give them a go. Thank you once again.
Rich, IM Austria29 July 2006I am a big nuun-user :) I dont know what I did before I discovered these tubes to carry on the bike and run with me, especially when racing long courses!
Tracy, MD21 July 2006The race on the Yorkshire moors went well for the first half but a fall in a rocky section left me with a damaged foot and knee. I still managed 20 mins faster than last year but no trophy. Also never had any cramp or similar problems, which once again I have to thank nuun for. 42 miles, heat, Yorkshire moors, injuries. We will succeed.
Tim, UK finisher19 July 2006I used your product for the last 3 months preparing for my first half Ironman. I took 2nd with a tube in my bike shirt - plopping and fizz-fizzing the whole 56 miles!! Thanks again.
Craig, IL15 July 2006I think nuun's great...best part is that it doesn?t leave that slimey mouth after you drink it like [Genericade]. Good work kids...keep it up!
Aaron, CA14 July 2006Throughout our adventure in the Alaska range (19 days) we always had at least a liter of nuun in our packs. I cannot overstate the importance of staying hydrated at altitude. When selecting gear for the mountains, whether it is a stove, tent, hardware or an electrolyte replacement system, I examine three things: simplicity, durability and weight. ...nuun fulfills all three of those criteria.
David, WA12 July 2006I used on a 90 mile ride yesterday. I just wanted to say, IT IS AMAZING! I can?t believe it, I was skeptical at first, but after 30 miles I became an instant fan. On previous long rides I used to drink [Genericade], and after 50 miles or so, I would just be sick to my stomach because it was so sweet. Then I wouldn't drink anymore, and bonk 10 miles later. Then I switched to water, and that gave me absolutely no energy at all, so I just wanted to say thank you nuun, you made the perfect concentration of water and flavor, and it gives me energy like no other.
Kyle, OR06 July 2006Talk about that yellow thing in the sky? Last week here in southwestern Indiana the temperature was in the high 90's and the humidity not far behind. I have labored in my running in these summers for the past twenty two years. I have experimented with a lot of hydration stuff in these years and now when I am probably in the twilight of my running effort, plus seventy years old, I found something that really works. I have passed out samples to several of my running friends and will continue to do so. Thank you so much for this product. I feel a surge in my energy level when I use it. I have been also using it for yard work, I hand-dug a seventy foot drainage trench several weeks ago and it really helped me keep up the effort.
Richard, IN26 June 2006Ya saved me! After crunching on the 71 mi. first day of this yrs. BRAG (Bike Ride Across Ga) in >95 deg. heat, I found a vendor carring nuun. I began using it from that point for the remainder of the weeks ride. I never experienced cramping and am sold..great product.
Bob, GA23 June 2006I?m in south central Texas about 100 miles from the coast. We have a lot of what I call ?90/90 days?. 90 degrees and 90% humidity. Definitely a tad on the warm side. I?ve done all the sports drinks and they do alright, but nuun works great. Recoveries from the run or the bike are faster (and tastier) with nuun during and after the workouts. And for those counting calories, nuun is an asset as well. It gets zero points on the Weight Watchers scale and like golf, the lower the points the better. nuun has also been used to cure hangovers and prevent upset stomach. It just may be the perfect drink.
Dennis, College Station TX21 June 2006I used nuun in my hydration pack for the June 4-10 2006 Aids/ Lifecycle Ride from San Fancisco to LA. In 585 miles of challenging riding, I never had to clean the system, and it remaind as pristine as though I had only used water. Plus, I found it to be a superior hydration agent , and it did not upset my stomach , as certain competing products do. It is an excellent product.
Bert, CA18 June 2006At St. Anthony's Triathlon, I received some samples of nuun at the Expo. As a triathlete, I thought it made a lot of sense to use nuun during training and races as an alternative to other 'loaded' products. I tried it and loved it. So when I went to make up my nuun drink last week, I discovered that the tubes were gone! Confronting my cyclist husband, he confessed that he too found nuun to be superier to any other product he's used so he's been using up my supply on the sly. I'm placing a big order today to make sure that there's enough to go round in my house! Thanks nuun.
Natalie, NY14 June 2006we're BIG fans of the nuun over here. it's SOOO unbelievably hot, you can't run without electrolytes now. my 2 y/o daughter LOVES it. in fact, she guzzled it this weekend and had sopping wet diapers, well-hydrated kid! she sucks it down and then says "i like it!" which she now says when she, well, likes stuff. she calls it 'juice' which frankly i prefer to regular juice ...
Rebecca, AZ13 June 2006I did well at the 70.3 Eagleman yesterday 5:29 in the 45-49 category. nuun helped me feel great. good taste, non-offensive and it settled well in my system. I was well hydrated!
Crissy, Annapolis MD12 June 2006As delicious and refreshing as nuun are, I'm sharing tubes with friends, spreading the wealth, trying to drum up some business for such a great company. I just cleared up some space on my bike for the stickers, and I'm saving the tattoos for the Pinehurst Olympic Triathlon in October, where I plan to do much better than middle of the pack. I hope the tattoos don't rub off under the wetsuit during the run, no time to put them on during T1. Thanks again for such a great product. [Genericade] sucks!
Mike05 June 2006I was introduced to nuun by my friend Stacy at the end of 2005, so training this winter and spring 2006 has been the first trial of nuun; what successes I have had. Marathon PR of 3:18.52. post workout ice cold water with a couple TRI-Berry nuun is my favorite. every morning I throw a tube in my bag and drink it all day long. Now I am introducing nuun to all my athletes and friends.
Thanks, Wendy21 May 2006nuun worked great, or I should say I did not suffer from the endurance as I usually do and I felt plenty hydrated for the entire race and felt great afterwards, too. nuun also tastes great (tried the Citrus Fruit and Lemon Lime). It is not too sweet and I have not gotten that sick feeling from too much engineered drink product that I used to get with endurance and other drink replacement beverages.
Darren, Reno20 May 2006I really like the idea of electrolytes w/o sugars. nuun has just enough flavor (for something different than water) w/o being too much. Great product.
Eric, Memphis18 May 2006Not only have I been using nuun when I am running but also when I have been riding. The best thing about it is that it comes in a small tube that will fit in any bag I have no matter what activity I am doing. I don't have to pre-mix before my workout. I can just drop it in and voila! Genius. :) I really like it and I look forward to trying the new flavors.
Rachael10 May 2006I ride Centuries and other long-distance bike rides. I am currently training to ride AIDS/Lifecycle 5 from San Francisco to Los Angeles commencing June 4. Over the years, I have used ['genericade'] and many other hydration additives. nuun is clearly superior in all respects...and it has an additional, very substantial advantage: I can use it in my hydration pack without the gunk and other cleaning difficulties which result from the use of sugary additives. I just run warm water through the pack at the end of the day, and it is clean as a whistle! This is a real advantage, as before I used only water in the hydration pack, and carried a bottle to use for ['genericade'], etc. Now, no need to carry the bottle, and the overall result is much better. Thank you.
Bert04 May 2006Having just competed in the Marathon des Sables (the toughest footrace @ 151mi), I thought it a good idea to let you know how fantastic your product was. 7 days racing in the Sahara, 8 sharing a tent and only me using nuun. After one day the others had problems trying to stomach their drinks, saying too sweet, sickly, etc. 9 liters of water a day was not a problem for me. Infact, I preferred to drink nuun than water on its own. Thank you.
Tim, UK finisher20 April 2006I wanted to let you know about my experience with nuun in my Ironman race in Arizona this weekend. It worked great!!! I had no problems with cramps or stomach distress, which usually happens as I start my run. This is a great product that I will recommend to my triathlete colleagues.
Ron, Atlanta, GA14 April 2006The nuun tube is convienent enough to carry in your gym bag without the extra weight of liquid. The nature of the race is to go all out. (15 minute swim, 20 minute Bike and 10 minute run.) Just drop a tab or two in 16 ounces of water and let it dissolve. It dissolves in seconds. The flavors are light on the buds and has the right amount of ingredients to enhance ones performance without upsetting the stomach. Some other sports drinks are so heavily concentrated they won't break down fast enough in your gut to improve your performance in a race this short. nuun has the perfect concentration for this race...drink some before the swim and finish the bottle while on the bike to be ready for the run. You only have 10 minutes to run so make it fast! I like the berry flavor, it does the trick for me.
Michael12 April 2006I really love this stuff, sometimes you just dont want?to drink?sugar water or just plain water.? I drop a few tabs in my everyday drinking water to stay hydrated. Water tends to go right though me, but with nuun I stay hydrated and feel so good thoughout the day. I also drink nuun within the hour before I race; no blood sugar insulin spikes.? I won my fist two run races this year!
Wendy, Colorado11 April 2006I'm an airline attendant for United Airlines and travel quite a bit. It's hard to stay hydrated while flying. With nuun I can stay hydrated wherever water is available (without the inconvenience of lugging around a huge bottle). I also use nuun in Triathlons to kick butt in the 50-age group!
Sixto09 April 2006I started using nuun about thee months ago while training and racing. It's ease of use is a huge plus. Every time you fill your [race] bladder, just add the nuun. The taste is excellent and it works great. It even helps to de-skunk treated water which is a necessary evil when adventure racing. After trying nuun I will not use another electrolyte product.
Jon Barker, Checkpoint Zero Team Captain06 April 2006nuun is the post activity recovery drink of choice. As my adventure racing season steps up, I'll likely have a few tablets in my camelbak bladder. My wife and I love the sugar free content alternative that you provide!
Matthew, Bainbridge Island03 April 2006Spring has finally arrived in the North East. I'm doing my 1st race on Sat. -- a short, but intense 10K bicycle time trial. I like your product because I can hydrate without calories and upset stomach. If I want calories I prefer Fig Newtons to [typical sports drinks].
Bob, NY29 March 2006My nuun came just in time, as I used it when I ran the National Marathon in DC 2 days ago. Great news. I didn't experience any of the cramping that I had experienced in my 2 previous marathons! As a result, I was able to shave 9 minutes off my previous PR. I will definately use nuun again in Boston 3 weeks from today and have already shared my experience with your product with the my Sunday running partners.
Kevin, NJ27 March 2006nuun is great but it also helps to know that the people behind the product are great in customer service, too. That is a winning combination, and believe me, it's not the norm but rather the exception ! (contrary to what one would expect!)
Enrique, Montevideo Uruguay, South America09 March 2006nuun is an amazing, convenient, good tasting, portable hydration product. It's especially great when I need to re-fuel, but I'm not looking for more calories. It's part of every workout, from an intense bike/run to a yoga class.
Deb Berger, Spinning Instructor & Triathlete just trying to finish28 February 2006I am so excited to find this product. As a triathlete I have been struggling with cramping during the run portion of my races. I love the taste, instead of sweet the salt is what I am craving. I have already added nuun into my training program early in the season and plan to continue through this next summer and the true test will be in my half iron and ITU races later this season. I will keep you updated on the performance of this amazing product!
Kimberly, Montana23 February 2006Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE NUUN! I found it almost 2 years ago while volunteering at Ironman Couer D'Alene. I have used it over the past 2 years and swear by it - it helped me through my first Ironman in Idaho! It tastes good, doesn't upset my stomach and is light and refreshing. Keep up the good work!
Barb, Atlanta GA17 February 2006nuun worked pretty great for me at the Tour de Palm Springs! The taste is a lot sublter and nicer than [typical sports drinks]. We had unbelievable weather: sunny skies and temps in the low 80's. The only cramp I had was in the brain, when my riding partner and I missed a turn and had to do an extra four miles to get back on course. Thanks for keeping me cramp free.
Dave, Bicycle Tour Guide13 February 2006I've seen nuun around at races, in shops, etc., but hadn't tried it. [I asked the dude at Pacific Bicycle in Sammamish] "Is this stuff any good?" and he said he swore by it. I took it with me to the Tour de Tucson, I LOVED it and have used it on every ride since! Also, on that same century ride in Tucson, one of my friends got really dehydrated and bonked badly with about 15 miles to go...her legs kept cramping even at an easy spin. I got her to drink the rest of my nuun and she bounced back and felt much better at the finish line.
Ruth, Seattle Triathlete04 January 2006I have been using nuun in competition and training. It encourages me to drink more water, without the sugary carbs and is a refreshing change from the norm. Being hydrated is definitely the key to better performance!
Charlene17 November 2005Hey nuun... thanks for your note! I was in Toronto last Saturday and picked up 3 tubes of Nuun at Urbane Cyclist. My wife and I tried it Sunday running with our yellow lab, Tali, and she loved it too! Very pleasant taste and goes down easy. I have great expectations about getting thru a marathon without cramps. ps... maybe Santa will set aside a tube for me at Runners Choice!
Dan11 November 2005I have had nuun a few times now and it works well. I told a good friend about your product he used it for the 1st time in a two day fell run. He told me nuun is flipping great stuff and thanked me again & again. He said it was the first time he could run two hard days in a row and he is near 60!
Eddie in the UK07 November 2005I received a free sample of nuun with my new PowerCranks. At first I was a bit sceptical -- but after a few hard workouts, I found that it really seems to help with hydration; and I don't have to worry about the excess calories and stomach problems that I sometimes get drinking other popular sugary hydration products. Reminds me of Gookin-aide from the dark ages -- without the mess and lousy taste. Great job!
Bob29 October 2005Started using nuun while training on these hot days in Austin,TX. I just felt better afterwards with it. I used it last weekend in Conroe and felt so good after the 59 mile bike ride I ran down 3 people in my age to take first in the 20-24 age group with a time of 5:17... thank you nuun!
Eric - Texas Iron Tri Team26 October 2005At this point I cannot even tell you how I heard about Nuun...but all that I know is that since using it for most of this year I am incredibly impressed with how it works for me. I'm what you would call a "heavy sweater" in most any condition, and replacing all the lost electrolytes has always been a problem for me. Not anymore. Leading up to Ironman Florida on November 5, I can say that without Nuun it would be a tough, tough day. With it, I am looking forward to setting a huge PR and feeling strong all day long. Thanks again, A customer for life,
Mike21 October 2005Morning, nuun or night, anytime is a good time to use this great, portable and tasty hydration product. It sates my thirst faster and I feel the benefits longer than anything else I?ve tried.
Lori - Cyclocross racer01 October 2005I have never used any sort of "electrolyte replacement" drinks in the past. On our last backpacking trip, I drank NUUN and noticed a big difference in my energy level when I was drinking that versus the days I drank just water. I also woke up one morning feeling VERY shaky and weak. I drank a bunch of NUUN and within just 10 or 15 minutes, felt a TON better. So, I'm sold! I used to think drinking water was good enough so long as I ate enough calories when I backpacked. No more!
Allison14 September 2005That's it. No less. Just brilliant. I used to really struggle with either being dehydrated or if I drank more of my sports drink then I'd get stomach cramps. More plain water just sloshed around my stomach. But now, with one nuun added to my usual sports drink I'm flying and feeling more comfortable to boot. Regards Duncan - a VERY satisfied customer.
Duncan14 September 2005In regard to my races?.my personal performance was excellent. I set PR?s on both days, and won my age group division by wide margins in both races. The days were hot, the highest temps of the year so far, and I was one of the few athletes that did not fade on the 10 mile run. I actually felt better and stronger in the last 3 miles than any other point of the run. Part of this is certainly fitness and training, but I am convinced that having the electrolytes (nuun) in balance is a big help. Thanks!
Brian- nuun sponsored athlete & coach, training for Kona07 September 2005I heard about nuun from Severn Fitness while attending their endurance camp last April. On Sunday I completed my first Ironman, IMUK in 13:33.58 thanks in great part to nuun! Water alone just sloshes about but with nuun I can keep hydrated!
Sasha - Severn Fitness UK client28 August 2005I did the Mid Atlantic Road Race Championship race this weekend and did OK. I finished 15th out of a very strong field of 70 Category 3 racers in 94 degree hot and humid weather! I'm convinced that without 4 water bottles of nuun, I would have cramped myself out of the 56 mile race!
IronDan15 August 2005Just wanted to tell you how great your product is, thanks very much. While I run 10K and half-marathon races and use the product for those my primary 'hobby' is motorcycle road racing. I both race with the AFM and teach at a school for novice & intermediate track riders (keigwin's at the Track) who wish to learn how to go fast on a racetrack. The tracks we ride on are in the hottest parts of Northern California, and we routinely ride in 105+ degree heat for 6 hours a day during the height of summer, wearing 10-12 lb leather suits, helmets, etc., which are not very conducive to staying cool. Needless to say I lose a lot of fluids and the nuun tablets help me stay sharp and focused, something very handy when tear-assing around a racetrack at 130+ MPH on two wheels.
Arnold - motorcycle racer02 August 2005?Just placed my second order.... the first tube transformed my performance. Unbelievable stuff!?
Duncan- Team Severn Fitness?(UK)15 July 2005Dragon Ride -- Wales, 2005. 150km of cycling through torturous 18% mountainous countryside in 35 degrees Celsius heat. People were collapsing at the roadside with exhaustion. Am I ever glad I had a tube of nuun in my pocket! Refilled with water at every feed station, dropped the nuun in my bottles and away I went. At the last feed station with about 40k to go my friend cramped up badly, and there was still another 3-mile ascent to tackle. I refilled his water and dropped my last nuun tablets in there for him. He was cured and we both raced to the finish. Funny thing is... I didn't cramp at all!! Thanks nuun. I wouldn't have made it without you. I feel more confident attacking the Etape du Tour now. I think you have a new customer in my friend as well. He was very keen to know what it was I put in his drink. "Don't worry." I said. "It's UCI legal."
John- Porstmouth, UK21 June 2005After what has to have been the longest half-Ironman ever (9.25 hours, due to back and shoulder injury and bike mechanical failure), I thought for sure that all of my muscles would be in sorry shape the next few days. Fortunately, i've been consuming only nuun on my long rides and races, and convinced that it helped to have a perfect recovery. In fact, nuun contributed to a perfect recovery in more days than one: A five-day booze-filled jaunt through London was accomplished recently, due largely to nuun?s incredible restorative qualities. Hangovers, begone!
Cheerio - Yi03 June 2005I like Nuun a lot. Most of all because of its simplicity. It's so easy to just pop a tablet (or 2) in a bottle and have a little flavor and eloctrolytes to drink, even with a meal. I also really like the lack of stickiness(due to lack of sugar). It's ability to travel well, is also great, you can even keep the tube in your jersey pocket. It's just like having water but with a little kick, and better for you. Thanks a lot Dave
Dave - Team Elite - fast dude on legs or wheels29 May 2005Hey guys - you know I'm a fan of nuun for training but I used it in the Ironman I just did. Although my IT band was giving me serious grief through the run?my stomach didn?t complain once race day ( a first!) So now I'm using nuun training and racing. And maybe in vodka for post race recovery Cam
Cam - WayPastFast Tri Store, Canada28 May 2005"thought you deserved an update ? training for the Hawaii Ironman is going really well. I am doing lots of long rides on the desert roads -- there aren't any shops on the route, but there is a Ranger Station so I fill up my water bottles at the fountain and drop in some nuun wafers -- I'm hydrated and good to go for many more miles on the quiet backroads away from everything else. Something else that I loved was that because it's so portable you really don't have to drink what they give you on the race course. I was so sick of genericade on the a recent 1/2 iron course -- and i had some nuun in my waist pack -- so i refilled my waterbottle with nuun instead of just drinking what they gave me and it was so refreshing (and not too sweet) for that 13 mile run. Thanks for the smiles out on the course ? see you at the big one." Sarah Reinertsen is a Challenged Athlete, world record holder and THE nicest person you?ll ever meet. Sarah Reinertsen; Physically Challenged Athlete. San Diego, CA20 May 2005I ordered some nuun from the nuun website and used it for the first time last weekend on a very humid 18 mile trail run. Great product. It left me in good enough electrolyte shape to spend the afternoon doing yard work.
Mike - yard work junkie11 May 2005I like nuun for my training rides a lot. I never know what the water is going to taste like at the public water fountains I find, and nuun makes it all taste good which encourages me to stay hydrated. I use nuun in my swim-to-bike transition waterbottle and bike-to-run transition waterbottle and it works verywell. Before I would always go straight to drinking sports drink, but this past year I have heard & read repeatedly that you should only drink water or nothing for the first 10-20 minutes of the bike and run so your body has a chance to adjust to the different stresses. I sweat a lot and lose a lot of salt so I didn't want to go with straight water or abstain from drinking...nuun fits my needs well.
Joan - Ironman athlete10 May 2005I bought a case to share with the group training to walk the Grand Canyon in October. nuun has been a great support to our ever-increasing mileage hikes....wish we had known about it years ago during our grueling triathlon trainings! We're very grateful you took the initiative and had the confidence to make this product available to others. May you be well (hydrated)!
Barbara. Grand Canyon Walker06 May 2005I'm a member of Elite Racing -- Dave Greenfield of Elite gave me some Nuun to try down in Florida. Several of my races before IMF had gone poorly due to my failure to enter the races sufficiently hydrated. I used it all week prior to the race and kept well-hydrated. I feel it really helped me race well -- I qualified for Kona and finished with my fastest time ever: 9:31! Thanks for making a great product!
Greg05 May 2005well i used it in ironman 2004 as my mate gave me tube and i knocked 30mins off my pb 11.45 down 11.15 and i am now training 4 ironman nice june 19
Eddie01 May 2005Quick scoop is that I am a racer on the Group Health Women's Road Cycling team here in Seattle where I learned about nuun as part of a recent communication from the cycling team. I am a HUGE advocate of electrolytes due to a life-changing personal experience 6 years ago that involved bicycling in Death Valley, CA, too much water, no electrolytes, hyponatremia, 5-day coma (you get the picture!). Luckily, I recovered completely and have become quite passionate about road cycling over the past 2 years. And, those cool little tablets work really well (as you know!). I pounded a liter of NUUN yesterday after my 36-mile road race, and I rebounded back to a general equilibrium (muscles, nerves, etc.) sooooo much faster than after other races! I'm not a celebrity athlete with a stellar success story, but I'll evangelize your product anytime.
Anne Paper. Pacific NW athlete who knows the importance of electrolytes better than most!21 April 2005We've been hiking a lot over the years and got to use NUUN last year in the Grand Canyon for our annual major one-day event. We only drank water and NUUN, never water alone. One of our hikers said that I had two great ideas. One was NUUN and the other duct tape for blisters. He spent time in Saudia Arabia and said that NUUN got him though the Canyon experience. My life partner and I looked great after the one day rim to rim hike. She is 57 and I am 69. We both had to pee at the funish and 20 minutes later showing that we were well hydrated. We used NUUN throughou the hike and I drank about two gallons over the hike. With all the new research in drinking too much water and its dangers I'm glad we had the electrolytes. With NUUN I felt great the whole time. Thanks for the advice and the support. We'll let you know how the hike goes this year.
Marlin - leader of an annual Grand Canyon hike with 126 Michigan students20 April 2005Because my job requires me to work in the weather, hydration is critical. Not just for the day to day battle with the elements, but more importantly for when a race is approaching and I need to be as physically ready as possible. Hands down, nuun has been the best sports drink I have tried. Thanks!
James - Carpenter/Cyclist02 April 2005I'm in New Orleans, and after a late night out, just this minute, I'm enjoying a liter of nuun. Dang that stuff is good.
Peter, Seattle based entrepreneur and active hiker/biker15 March 2005nuun is fantastic! a nice refreshing change to having way to sweet sports drinks or salt tabs with water that just don?t cut the cake when trying to stay hydrated.
Kristian - spin trainer, Sydney Australia10 March 2005A quick note to say I've been looking for a hydration solution (no pun) that works for me and pretty much tried everything out there. I was given nuun at a training camp and had the following comments: - Great taste! - Works awesome with my bars and gels. - I won?t have to ask for extra cash to my friends to by a sport drink on a long ride? I just have to beg for water and throw in my nuun tablet. Summary is I love it. Well done
Stephen, South Carolina08 February 2005This is THE BEST electro replacement I have ever used. The taste is perfect - light, very easy to drink. It is so easy to use. Insert tablet into water bottle and that's it. I always carry a tube of nuun on every ride for quick and easy refills and the tube easily fits in my jersey pocket or saddle bag. Thanks- great product!
Tracy, mtnbikin', road ridin', cyclo-cross freak02 February 2005Hey NUUN, I started bike racing last year. Had lots of Cramps!!! This year our team got on the NUUN train, and I have yet to cramp in a race or after, even with substantially increased mileage. It works. Compared to the other rehydration drinks, it tastes better, avoids the added sugars, and is far easier to use. (I have shared it with some coworkers and they're hooked!)
Clark, Alki/Rubicon Racing24 January 2005nuun. thanks for the info. nuun is the best bang for the buck I've yet to encounter for hydration. I used to carry one bottle clear and one thick to dilute further into a longer ride but now don't need to. As long as there is water there is an electrolyte drink that has so far been effective and highly convienent, ie a tube in the jersy. I keep a tube on me when I go out to eat and not soda or whatnot.
Andrew Novikoff, Alki/Rubicon Racing, Seattle, Washington15 January 2005I have always struggled with hydration. The stickiness was always too much, but nuun has gotten me to drink water again. Always with me on my training - love it.
Chris Artibello. Oomph marketing guru and organiser for Tri events in Canada20 December 2004"Nuun's electrolyte tablets have helped me stay hydrated and balanced during long races when my body can no longer tolerate sweetened and calorie rich sports powders or drinks. The effervescent tablets are also easy to carry in a convenient water tight tube. At a watering hole, all we have to do is fill our water bottles and drop in a tablet. No need to mix or pour anymore. That's quick and effective for adventure racing."
Cyril Jay-Rayon, team captain, Dirtworld.com Adventure Racing Team23 November 2004I wanted to give you some bold product feedback. I raced the Providian relay last weekend. It is a 199-mile running relay from Napa to Santa Cruz. While this wasn?t a sustained long-endurance event, it required unique recovery techniques. I had to maintain food, hydration, and recover between each event. I used nuun after my first leg to recover. It worked very well. In fact, I felt really good. On Monday, I boarded a plan and have visited five cities in four days. Using nuun again through the week has been beneficial. Bottom line, this stuff rocks. I gave it two a few friends and they reported feeling better as well.
Mark10 November 2004That shot of Jagermiester on the way out the door Friday night after the team meeting was just plain old insult to injury. I don't know who was responsible for it, but that sent me over the edge. The next morning, I had 2 nuun tabs in a pint of water before the morning coffee and they really set me straight quickly. Thanks for sponsoring the Second Ascent Team
Nick Rhodes, team manager Second Ascent cycling team01 November 2004Still love it. I just rode the Ride for the Roses in Austin, TX. It was 80 degrees and nuun tabs were a lifesaver!
Mona, Patagonia employee and avid cyclist.28 October 2004Hey - wanted to let you know I got first at the ITU race this weekend and then won the Loch Lomand Adventure Tri on the Sunday. Drank nuun on the Sunday between events - miles better than water!
Catriona Morrison - ITU athlete (and speedy!)18 August 2004I'm just back from a glorious weekend in the Cascades at Tuck and Robin Lakes, two jewels in the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. nuun was a total hit with the 7 of us. Given the hot weather and long slog we had to backpack into the lakes, hydration was key. I passed some nuun around. First, everyone loved the taste. Second, it honestly kept us going. The weather was hot, and we had an arduous slog up a steep slope to arrive at our campsite at 6,500 feet. Water was scarce, because we didn?t want to carry too much weight, so we each had a couple liters. nuun helped make that water as hydrating as possible. Good stuff it is!
Peter; Outdoors enthusiast. Seattle, WA19 July 2004wanted to get you an update! found nuun it brilliant for travelling and really handy when i went from winter to summer as was worried about electrolytes level in the heat. it was nice and easy to use - best thing is its much quicker if u need a refill when out on a ride. tend to not bother with powder as it goes everywhere but in the bottle. the taste is good to not sickly or sweet too u probably dont want to know but i recommend it as a hang over drink too. had and lots n lots to drink after ironmn austria (3rd!!!!!) and nuun helped me... anyway i found it nice to be able to have my own sports drink with me when trvlling as dont hve to worry about experimenting with different sports drink just before the race am on a pc in airport nd keys stick sorry!
Jess Draskau Petersson; top 3 at IM Austria and sub 3hr Ironman runner!. NZ18 July 2004I used nuun this weekend at an ultramarathon in Ashland. nuun was one of the things I changed in my running that helped me cut over an hour off my PR in the 50k.
Jeff. Long haul runner. Redmond, WA.15 July 2004With its unique, compact presentation, nuun is a refreshing alternative to the sugar laden hydration products on the market. It is fast, simple, easy to use and convenient. Our top athletes can?t get enough of it and the decision to bring nuun on as a sponsor for Team Elite was simple...our athletes demanded it.
Dave Greenfield - President Elite Bikes15 July 2004First of all, I have been extremely happy with nuun. I have ben using in both in training and in lieu of drinking juice...since I get sick of drinking just water and juice can rack up some unneeded sugar and calories. It is definitely ideal to train with...portable, just add water! No stomach issues. I plan to use Nuun in my next Ironman...and I've been sharing it with every single athlete I can.....especially athletes doing half or full ironman.
Rachel Sears. Pro-triathlete and coach; San Fran, CA. www.rachelsears.com12 July 2004I also would like to say something about the product 'nuun'. It is the first drink that I have been able to do an effort running session and not feel like I'm about to regurge it. I was very happy with it. Water and genericade, etc. make u feel like 'burping' but this never gave me the opportunity. Top Stuff.
Rob Bannister. Aussie Junior Pro; Germany.07 July 2004I have exhausted my supply of nuun and find it to be an outstanding supplement to aid in my workout recovery without adding the extra calories which I am trying to burn!
Andy Martin. 4th Ironman Coeur d?Alene (first Ironman); Bend, OR05 July 2004The nuun worked well. I tried it in training, in a 24 hr Rogaine (wilderness navigation) Race. nuun improved the taste of treated water. I like it and it definitely worked well and was better than water and other products that I've tried in the past. It's a nice compliment to Red Bull and my chlorine treated water. I'm definitely keeping it in the mix.
Jeff. Adventure Racer; Seattle, WA.28 June 2004I was introduced to your product and was a little hesitant to try out something that seemed so different from most ordinary hydration products and that I had never even heard of before. After using it for a little while I realized that nuun is the real deal. It's everything I could ever want in a source of electrolytes...it's convenient, palatable and at last no more cramping! Once I realized this, I couldn't believe that no one knows about it.
Ben Adam. Fastest North American at the 2004 World Junior Triathlon Championships; Calgary, Canada24 June 2004Hi - David (Team Elite manager) introduced me to nuun. Wow - everything you need, without the carbohydrates! I've got my carb intake dialled in but was looking for more - nuun's taken care of the electrolytes, salts, and everything else. I use it as a recovery drink too and you can feel the difference in as soon as a few hours and especially the next day! Thanks!
Linda Gallo. 2003 Ironman Hawaii Women?s 25-29 Age Group Champion and member of nuun sponsored Team Elite. www.lindagallo.com16 June 2004Brett and I consumed a fair bit of nuun out on the Geoquest race - I was even crunching through the tablets in my mouth and then drinking from the bladder - but the nuun flavour was really great at the end of the race.....and after 37 hours of exercising that?s saying something!
Damien Angus. Super fast age-group athlete and 5th overall IM Oz 04, very smart guy and basically a top bloke; Melbourne, Australia.06 June 2004I tried it after a 10 mile run on Monday, after a short 4 mile run Tues, and tonight after a 30 mile bike. It was warmer today so I sweated plenty. I added two tablets to my 20oz bottle; the directions said 1 tab per 8oz but I didn't want to go full-strength and be caught out in the middle of nowhere with a bottle full of mix I didn't want to drink. Anyway, about 2/3 thru the bike I slowed and glugged almost the whole bottle over the course of a few minutes. Went down real easy and wasn't at all hard on the gut; I wasn't so sure about drinking what I thought looked suspisciously like alka-selzer but it dissolved completely and there weren't any 'floaties'. It wasn't effervescent and didn't make you want to burp and the taste (lemon lime) wasn't sweet or 'off' like some other mixes I've tried. No post-workout headache after my run Monday even though I was pretty fried so the amount of electrolyte is sufficient, for me anyway.
Dave. Triathlete; MN17 May 2004nuun - Awesome! Have used both during and after training. The way it dissolves is quite amazing. Good flavor and seems to give me what I need. Am experimenting a lot with hydration/nutrition this year after a VERY bad race last year where I got severely dehydrated. Now I?ve got nuun and I?m back on track to get on with racing knowing my hydration is taken care of regardless of the conditions.
Brook Gardner. Editor RaceCentre Magazine; Bend, OR.16 May 2004I love this product! I just completed Gulf Coast Tri (Half Ironman) in Panama City Beach, FL. The temperature was in the 80's at the beginning of the race and rose to over 90 degrees with high humidity. Knowing it was going to be hot and humid, I was prepared to take in a lot of fluid and knew I had to figure out how to replace my electrolytes. From past experience, I knew full strength Generic-ade was not going to work for me - I can't stand the sweetness for very long. I ended up adding nuun tablets to my water bottles that I carried on my bike and in my aero bottle. Along with gels and some additional bottles at the aid stations, my nutrition and hydration was on target and I compliment you on a great product. I have already ordered more tubes and have recommended nuun to my friends who are preparing for the Buffalo Springs Half Ironman and my training partners for Coeur d'Alene.
Cathy. Age group triathlete and multi-time participant of Ironman NZ; San Fran12 May 2004All my running folks will thankyou ? the taste is great and the fizz cleanses the palate ? no goopy aftertaste!! I even tried it on my kids! It was 90 degrees here today?.
Siga. Boulder, CO.05 May 2004I used nuun all weekend on a big bike trip and it was awesome. I even shared some with buddies I ran into and they liked it too. I really like the light taste.
Jeff Henderson, Race Director ? Musselman Triathlon04 May 2004Just wanted to mail about the nuun. Yesterday with tired legs from Sunday training I turbo'd for two hours using nuun. For me this was easier going on the stomach than usual, easier to take and more palatable. I had a great turbo session considering and then in the evening I had a great swim, held 100s at 62secs etc. Usually I would be to shagged to swim this well after a hard turbo..... was it the nuun, who knows but I will be buying some more just in case
Danny ?the fish? Bullock. Triathlete and top rated swim-coach; London, UK.03 May 2004Guys - thanks for the nuun. I went against all advice out there and decided to use nuun for the first time ever whilst doing a race. In at the deep end! The result? I normally suffer from cramps in the latter part of the Ironamn - this is THE first time I've ever kept cramps at bay in an Ironman! I see a lot of products out there...but this one works.
Rob. Inside Triathlon; Boulder, CO03 April 2004When I use a traditional sports drink I like to thin it. nuun was the perfect consistency?not too sweet/thick, not too thin as to be non-existent. As I've gotten more fit and can train at higher intensities for sustained periods, I've realized my stomach is often not able to handle the liquids I put into it. The biggest advantage ? the taste made it easier for me to get down...probably easier than water.
Mark. Cyclist, runner, part-time triathlete and all round good guy; VT.07 March 2004I wanted to drop you a line on my thoughts on how wonderful I found Nunn during The "Goldrush" held here in Central Otago, NZ. One month before the race I'd always get a cramp in the quads while run training. Concerned, as I knew if I was to get cramp in the race, that would be my hopes of a top 5 placing and possibly end my race. It was suggested to give nuun a try and tried I did. While racing under such intense conditions the body is under a lot of stress. During a long day of racing, you can only consume so many traditional electrolyte fluids before the mouth is left with a sickly/sticky after taste. So therefore you are more likely to lean off refueling as the stomach starts to reject these items therefore your performance starts to drop. I decided to race on pure water and Nunn. The tubes were so easy and light to tuck into a cycling/running top. I loved it as I was left with a cleansing aftertaste, so I was able to refuel on other foods and enjoy. I had the feeling of wanting more food and only needed to carry fresh water in my hydration pack- so no stomach cramping as my stomach was settled. I went thru three days of intense racing without having to deal with every racers nightmare "cramp" and because I didn't get cramp at all in my legs, my muscles were able to absorb the salts/minerals from nuun with fresh water so therefore my recovery each day was awesome I didn't have to deal with tight, heavy tired legs which I would have if I had cramped so I was up the next day ready to race as hard as I did the day before for 3 days and making the top five- a personal goal was achieved!! An awesome product- it should be made a compulsory item for every racers kit!!
