We want to send a BIG congrats to Harris English on his first PGA Tour win this past weekend at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis, TN. Harris is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he first started using Nuun and continues to do so every day on tour. The Nuun staff has had the opportunity to spend some time and get to know Harris and he is a stand up guy and a great ambassador for Nuun. Only in his second season on the PGA Tour, we are so excited to watch him have continued success out there.
“My coach introduced me to Nuun while playing golf at the University of Georgia. I now use it every day out on the PGA Tour. I need to be in the best physical condition out on the course and Nuun is a part of that for me,” says Harris.
This year’s tourney was held at TPC Southwind. With four rounds sub par it was clear that Harris was in the zone. Sunday was quite exciting and tested Harris after bogeys on 8 & 9. It was going to take something special to beat the pack. With a little motivation, Harris switched gears and started rolling in some birdies….4 to be exact. With many of his friends around to congratulate him, this was a sweet victory.
- T7 – Rory Sabbatini
- T10 – Camilo Villegas
- T10 – Dustin Johnson – who was the reigning champion
- T10 – Padriag Harrington
We are looking forward to see the U.S. Open this week. We wish all of team Nuun the best of luck out there.

Buzzer beaters, bracket research, and office competition are usually what are on everyone’s mind in this “maddening” time of March. Although, this past weekend had no shortage of nail biting moments at the Transitions Championship in Tampa Bay, FL.
To play well at this challenging course, you not only have to conquer the best PGA players in the world, you also have to navigate the last three holes of the course known as the “snake pit.” The pit is a brutal test of a golfers skill, endurance, and ability to finish strong. In the punishing Florida heat, hydration is a key factor to help golfers stay on the leaderboard!
It was another strong showing for Nuun users this week, with 11 Nuun fans finishing in the top 30! Most notably, Nuun fan Boo Weekley, who took the final round by storm with a 63, and was in the leader in the clubhouse with just a few hours to go
Alas, it’s not over till the last ball is in the cup. Kevin Streelman tamed the “snake pit” and had a bogey free final 37 holes to climb to the top of the leaderboard to edge out Boo. What a tournament! Clearly, hydration was hard at work here.
Here is a list of the notable Nuun finishers:
- Boo Weekley
- Greg Chalmers
- Luke Donald
- Harris English
- Sergio Garcia
- Brian Harman
- Jerry Kelley
- Adam Scott
- Erik Compton
- Rory Sabbatini
- Justin Hicks
Not matter what your skill level on the links, hydration is an important factor to help you perform at your best. The golf season is heating up, meaning longer rounds, hotter days, and tougher conditions. Make sure you are staying properly hydrated with Nuun so you can go low! Try out this classic golf course favorite: ½ tab of Lemonade + ½ tab of Lemon Tea for an Arnold Palmer Nuun style!

It was raining Nuun at the Wyndham Championship this past week at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC. Due to inclement weather and heavy rain, the final round was suspended until 9:00 AM EST on Monday. This delay did not fluster our favorite PGA Tour players with four Nuun Ambassadors finishing inside the top 10.
Our newest Nuun fan, Sergio Garcia, played beautifully and captured the title with a two shot lead over Tim Clark….who also loves his Nuun. Sergio carded a 3-under 67 in the first round, followed by a more than impressive 63, and a pair of 66’s. His impressive play this week jolts him back into the running for a spot on Team Europe’s Ryder Cup Team to be held in September.
Tim came out strong on Thursday posting a 63. He backed that up with 3 consectuive rounds of 67. Although his efforts came up just short of the win, his play was solid and steady.
Speaking of the Ryder Cup, this year’s US team captain Davis Love III captured a top 10 finish along with Harris English who both finished the tournament at 14 under. These Georgia guys know the benefits of Nuun…especially in the humidity of the South East
Other Nuun Notables:
- T14 Brandon De Jonge (-11)
- T14 Charl Schwartzel (-11)
- T22 Trevor Immelman (-9)
- T22 Chris Kirk (-9)
Great job to all of our Nuun Ambassadors! We’ll be watching Dustin Johnson battle to defend his title at The Barclays’ in New York this week.

This past week at the Shell Houston Open, Nuun fan, Hunter Mahan, was the first to snag his second title of 2012 (the 1st being the WCG – Accenture Match Play) and his 5th career tour victory. Over the four days of competition, Hunter finished at a total of 16 under edging out Carl Petterson by 1 shot and 3rd round leader, Louis Oosthuizen, by 2 shots. Hunter is one of those guys that kind of flies under the radar, but when you take a look at his resume it is no surprise that this 29 year old is now the forerunner in the FedEx Cup and is ranked No. 4 in the world!
Hunter is extremely dedicated to his sport and really puts a lot of pressure on himself to perform. He is one who seeks perfection. However, as of lately Hunter has taken a new approach to the game. This approach includes more patience and taking less than perfect shots for what they are and nothing else. This has allowed Hunter to be a top performer even if he is not at 100% (which in golf is near impossible.) With this new outlook to his game we think we will see a lot more of Mr. Mahan at the top of the leaderboard.
Placing too much pressure on yourself is a common battle that golfers (at any level face.) It is the nature of golf…it is a game against yourself and there is a fine line of pushing yourself too much versus not pushing yourself enough. Having patience is one of those things that is much easier said than done. It takes a strong mind and even more focus to be able to do. This is where Nuun comes into play and can help you in your golf game! It has been proven that golfers in a hydrated state have better focus and can make more sound decisions. As the game evolves, more and more golfers are realizing the benefits of a strong mind and body to boost their golf game to the next level.
Great job Hunter from everyone here at Nuun!
Other Nuun Notables @ the SHO
- –With temps reaching into the 80’s last week hydration proved key. Of the top 5 finishers 3 were choosing to stay hydrated with Nuun: Hunter Mahan, Louis Oosthuizen, and KeeganBradley.
- –Boo Weekly – finished T14. Boo has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start in 2012. This is his second top 20 of the season. Like we always say though, golf is a marathon and there is a lot of holes left to play.
- –Harris English – finished T18. After missing the past 2 cuts, Harris jumped right back on the horse and found his groove again.
Good luck to all of our guys this week at the Masters! Masters Week is what it is all about. It will be a grueling four days and will require a lot of grit and patience…..and some of those magic Nuun tabs of course.
