  2. So I applied last year while I had an active blog. But then I got injured and sort of stopped. I actually just began running again and was planning on creating a new blog. Would that count me out of the running?

    • Not at all! An active blog is one of the criteria that Nuun will look at, but it’s certainly not the only deciding factor.

ast year, I ran in the “Mother of All Relays”. It’s hard to put into words how much those 200 miles of running with nuun meant to me.

This video gives you a glimpse of how special this experience really is…

  30. I just found this opportunity and am so excited. I have always wanted to run the hood to coast race ever since I was a kid skiing at Mt. Hood and watched all the awesome runners go by. As a retired ski racer, I am now a runner and avid nuun drinker and would love to run HTC with the nuun blogging teams! I guess I am going to have to apply and quickly!

  31. eeeek! submitted my application! SO SO SO excited! :)

  39. Are most entries sent via Youtube? I see that the examples are from Youtube, but I was wondering if that was preferred or if we somehow just sent a file through an email?

    • A youtube link would be preferred to sending a video file so that we can keep our email inbox clean and available. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for such an amazing opportunity – can’t wait to see who is picked!!!
Good luck to all who enter!

  43. OH MAN!! I’VE SUBMITTED MY ENTRY! NOW WE SIT AND WAIT. OK WHO ARE WE KIDDING? I WON’T BE SITTING AND WAITING, I STILL HAVE A MARATHON TO TRAIN FOR, WORK TO DO, SCHOOL TO ATTEND AND A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF.

RUNNING THIS WOULD FEEL LIKE A VACATION WITH OTHER AMAZING WOMEN!

  44. Will any confirmation email be sent by Nuun to applicants to notify them that their application was received?

  48. I’ve ran half marathons and 5Ks, and would have ran a marathon by the deadline. But I don’t have an official 10 K time. Would that prevent me from applying to be on the team? For some reason, I have never signed up for a 10K.

    • Not at all! We don’t need an official 10k race time, but simply a realistic estimate of your 10k time. HTC requires it for finish time estimation purposes, so feel free to use a split time from a half marathon or set up your own time trial.

  55. I’ve been given the green light by the family!! I’m brainstorming what my application will be right now. Hmmm…so many ideas…so little time.

  56. Hmm… I think I need a nice long run to get my creative juices flowing. I feel lucky this year!!! Thanks for all you do to support the female blogging community :)

  57. Oh yes! Time to summon my creative juices for another chance to participate in this epic event again! 2011 was AMAZING!

  58. i really want to apply but the dates (this year AND last year) conflict with stuff i already have planned! :( pleeeeeease do it again in 2013! :) i am saving the date now!

  59. Oh, I am *so* all over this. :D

  60. I’m SO STOKED to apply this year! YEEEEEAH!

  61. Woo-Hoo! I’m putting together something fabulous for you! So excited!! Hope it turns out somewhat like it looks in my head… LOL!

  62. I want to try!!!! HTC is a dream!!!!

  63. Darn. If I only I was a lady… Although, I am willing to run in a tutu.

  64. OMG. Just got chills!!!!

  65. Why is nuun so female specific in their contests and groups? For the amazing things I have been able to accomplish since finding nuun I think you are really doing a disservice to yourself and all athletes.

    • Hi Joel,

We hear you loud and clear. We’re involved in a lot of events that are male skewed, so this is our way of reaching out to lady hydrators. That said, hydration is important for everyone, and Hood to Coast is fun for everyone, so keep your eyes peeled in the future. We’re putting thought into your exact concerns.

      Stay hydrated!

      • Thanks for your reply, I get seriously worked up about some of the overt sexism in the racing culture, and this contest was a trigger for me today. Your reply has calmed be down some. Good luck ladies.

        • I have to say that I agree with Joel on this one though. I guess I can understand Nuun’s view since many of the bloggers are ladies.

        • I think what the NUUN ADMIN meant to say that since NUUN is ultimately destined for mass market retailers (i.e. not specialty retail – typically where good, quality innovative products like to live), that there is no better way to push the product to the masses than through women, who typically do the family shopping in these types of stores. Now to be clear, I fully support the women who want to be on the team and do the race – it’s a great opportunity. But this is total Marketing 101, and ultimately costs NUUN so little compared to traditional media. So much less, in fact, that I call for NUUN to pick up the first $300 of each racer’s flight to Seattle…that seems quite reasonable to me.

I wish they (and other companies who do viral/blog marketing) would be a little more transparent about it. And even if I’m not 100% accurate in my guess, I’m probably not 100% wrong either.

  66. YAY!!! It’s that time again :) Good luck to all who enter!

  67. 2012 is going to be epic! Can’t wait to see who ends up on your teams!
